II. LESSON OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson the students are expected to; 1. Identify the genre of a material viewed; 2. Differentiate the genres of viewing by examining the various examples presented, and; 3. Evaluate the importance of the material viewed by organizing the information gathered from the viewing material.
PRELIMINARY ACTIVITY BOWL OF FORTUNE
BOWL OF FORTUNES Learners write their names on a 1/8 sheet of paper and drop inside the bowl. The teacher will randomly pick for the students names. The lucky student will look at their cell phone or recall and share to the class what was the last video he or she watched . This will continue for at least three tries. Students who gets to share gains a reward.

VIEWING MATERIALS are things that are designed to be seen, viewed or watched. As we are surrounded by these things it is important to know to which category or genre do, they belong.
GENRE Is a term for any category of literature or other forms of art or entertainment It is a category or a group Example: Romeo and Juliet belongs to the genre of DRAMA or PLAY The Song “Ice Cream” by Black Pink belongs to the K-pop Genre of music
GENRES OF VIEWING MATERIALS Compilation or group of Materials designed to be seen, watched or viewed.
Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are: MOVIE CLIP a short video from a longer film or movie.
Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are: TRAILER are selected group of scenes that are selected to advertise a movie. It is often called a preview
Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are: NEWS FLASH is a single item of important news that is being broadcasted separately and often interrupts other programs.
Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are: WEATHER REPORT is a systematic statement of the existing and predicted weather conditions over a specific area.
Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are: Internet Based Program a program that is informative and can be discussed through websites
Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are: Documentary is a movie, a television, or radio program that is based on actual records or reports
Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are: Video is a digital recording of an image or set of images.
Lets test your understanding I. Directions: The teacher will show a video clip and then the learners will guess what genre is being presented. Use the bell in front if they wish to answer. Students who guess it right wins a prize.
