Executive Summary This report evaluates the East Sussex County Council (ESCC) s website from 1
April 2014 to 31 March 2015. Then recommends suggestion to improve the website. The main tool of
this analysis is Google Analytics that provides data with intensive details. For instance, Audience,
Traffic source, Landing page and Bounce rate.
From the results of this study, it found that the website has several problems such as Social traffic,
Keywords, Contents, AdWords campaign, and In page activity. Therefore, this report recommends
some solutions to overcome these issues and increase users experience, by the following

This report can be divided into two sections: the finding and analysis of visitors and
recommendations. The analysis period is covered the whole data from 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015.
The one year length is appropriate because it is an up to date data that shows a dynamic trend of
website to evaluate and make a recommendation.

Audience
Overview
According to the results from Google Analytics for East Sussex County Council (ESCC) s website,
this site had 1,920,834 visitors during 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015 as shown in Figure 1, there was
slightly changed in the number of sessions in each month, which had a total 3,555,289 sessions.
During school admission period in September, this website providing school information that had the
highest sessions with 343,560 sessions. The total number of visitors had 247,183 sessions, which was
the lowest number in December due to Christmas holidays.
Furthermore, there were new users at 50.1% and returning users at 49.9%. The figures of new users
and returning users are importance for the website because the number of users can measure the
quality of website. Web developer should be concern appropriately information for every user such as
