CS3 Corporate Communication

Introduction

T he communication pillar consists of : Business Communication 1 (CS1) Business Communication 2 ( CS2) Corporate Communication (CS3) Strategic Communication ( CS4) According to the progression rule ,  you are required to have completed CS2 in order to be eligible to apply for the CS3 course. you are required to have completed CS3 in order to be eligible to apply for the CS4  course Completion of CS3 Corporate Communication is compulsory to sit for the Strategic Level exams in June 2024. 

Course Schedule

The course is a blended learning program It comprises of 14 sessions (9 physical and 5 online sessions) The classes are conducted on 4 time slots: Saturday Morning (9am-12pm) Saturday Afternoon (1pm-4pm) Sunday Morning (9am-12pm) Thursday Evening (5.30pm-8.30pm) All classes are conducted by an experienced lecturer panel  Recordings of online classes, past papers and other learning materials are available in the LMS.  The next exam is scheduled in November 2024.

The following skills are improved by the end of the course: Reading Listening Writing Speaking Vocabulary Grammar Exam oriented techniques  The course content is covered by the study text ( available as soft or hard copy) and additional lessons created by the lecturer. 

What is the importance of the CS3 Corporate Communication Course? The English knowledge which is compulsory for the corporate sector is improved by the end of this course. The reading activities will improve your knowledge on vocabulary and reading sub skills such as skimming and scanning. These will be useful to practice the technique to extract information from official documents.  Graph, letter, report and proposal writing activities will be helpful to learn to organize and write your content in a logical order. The speaking activities will boost your confidence to develop business communications in the real world. The listening activities will make you familiar to different accents and will subsidiarily improve your speaking skills. The exam-oriented techniques taught in the course ( Eg : time management) will be useful to be applied for other professional exams such as IELTS.

The exam paper tests your knowledge in reading/writing/listening and speaking. The reading/writing and listening exam will be conducted in November and the speaking test will be held on a separate day. The reading/writing paper is for two and half hours and the listening paper is for 40 minutes. Thus, altogether the whole paper is for three hours and ten minutes.  Each part accounts for 50 marks. Therefore, the total marks out of 200 is divided by 2 to provide the final result. The pass mark that is required is 50 .
