This includes both membrane and non-membrane bound organelles, present within the cells and are distinct in structures and functions. 8. 2. Types of cell Organelles- a) Lysosomes - ( i ) Definition- They are sphere shaped sacs filled with hydrolytic enzymes that have the capability to break down many types of biomolecules . (ii) Structure- Lysosomes is a membrane bound organelles and the area within the membrane is called lumen. Lumen contains the hydrolytic enzymes and other cellular debris.

Lysosome is a membrane bound cell organelle. It contains digestive enzymes whose specific function is to break down cellular waste and debris. It mainly found in animal cell. Mitochondria is a double membraned rod-shaped structure found in both plant cell and animal cell.
