C orto vs largo Las sociedades con Orientación a Largo Plazo también tienden a adaptar las tradiciones a los contextos modernos. Las sociedades que tienen Orientación a Corto Plazo respetan las tradiciones, pero incentivan a gastar y a obtener ganancias inmediatas.
Orientación a corto plazo La orientación a corto o largo plazo se define en como una cultura en específico tiene en cuenta el tiempo y las etapas del pasado presente y futuro. La orientación a corto plazo se refiere en que una cultura se basa más en su pasado y en su presente. Al tener este tipo de orientación nos enfocamos más en el pasado y presente que en el futuro.
La Orientación a Largo Plazo se refiere a la importancia que se da en una cultura a la planeación de la vida a largo plazo en contraste a las preocupaciones inmediatas. Está orientada hacia los objetivos y valora las recompensas. Mientras tanto, en la orientación a corto plazo se enfocan en valorar los métodos tradicionales, dedican una cantidad de tiempo considerable a desarrollar relaciones. En general, consideran el tiempo como una dimensión circular. Esto significa que el pasado y el presente están interconectados, y que lo que no se puede hacer hoy, se puede hacer mañana. Ejemplo Supongamos que su empresa lo ha contactado para entablar negociaciones con una empresa extranjera sobre una empresa conjunta en el país de la empresa extranjera.
