Today, we will be discussing how to
analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of
techniques and practices used in contemporary
Philippine arts.
Start the class by asking the students to
share their experience in creating art. Ask them
what techniques and practices they have used
before.
B. Motivation (Engage)
The purpose of this lesson is to help
students understand the different techniques and
performance practices used in contemporary
arts, as well as their importance in the
development of Philippine culture.
The teacher will present different
examples of contemporary arts such as
paintings, sculptures, installations, performance
art, and multimedia art. The teacher will discuss
the techniques and performance practices used
in each example, such as color blending,
shading, perspective, layering, and mixing of
media.
Show the students some examples of
contemporary art from the regions that utilize

C. Discussion (Explore)
The teacher will discuss and
demonstrate different techniques used in
contemporary arts, such as mixed media, found
objects, abstraction, and expressionism.
Students will practice these techniques by
creating their own mixed media artworks using
found objects and other materials.
Define what it means to analyze and
evaluate the effectiveness of techniques and
practices.
Discuss the criteria for evaluating these
techniques and practices, such as their
originality, creativity, coherence, emotional
impact, social relevance, and cultural
significance.
Provide examples of how to apply these
criteria to specific artworks, and ask the
students to do the same.

Students will practice these performance
practices by creating a short multimedia
performance piece in groups, incorporating
different elements of contemporary arts.
Introduce different perspectives on
contemporary Philippine arts, such as those
based on aesthetics, history, culture,
politics, and identity.
Discuss how these perspectives affect the
analysis and evaluation of the techniques
and practices used in contemporary
Philippine arts.
Ask the students to apply these perspectives
to their own analysis and evaluation of
specific artworks.
D. Developing Mastery (Explain)
The students will work in groups to
create their own multimedia performance
pieces. They will be given time to plan,
rehearse, and execute their performance pieces.

whole week.
