DNA REPLICATION Here starts the lesson!

LET’S PLAY A GAME! SYITEUMI

LET’S PLAY A GAME! ENLINTAVA

LET’S PLAY A GAME! INMIEG

LET’S PLAY A GAME! EREANP

OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to: 1. elaborate DNA replication process correctly 02 make a model of DNA to determine the process of replication and 03 work collaboratively to do the task.

01 GUIDE QUESTIONS: What is DNA replication ? What is different nitrogenous bases pair in DNA ? How do the nucleotides in DNA pair?

Is the process by which double- stranded DNA molecule is copied to produce two identical DNA molecule. REPLICATION

Replication occurs in three major steps: HOW IS DNA REPICATED? Book Title. P52 Opening of the double helix and separation of the DNA strands. The priming of the template strand and assemble of new DNA segment Uncoil at specific location called Origin.

T wo different DNA polymerase Helicase Primase

Attaches to and breaks apart the hydrogen bonds between the bases on the DNA strands Helicase moves along the DNA molecule it continues to braking these hydrogen bonds and separating the two polynucleotide chains. Helicase

briefly attaches to each strand and assembles a foundation at which replication can begin. Primase

Guide questions Exam content Group 1 What is DNA replication? As comparison of the two new strands of DNA. Are they the same or different? Why? Group 3 How do nucleotides in DNA pair? How is information from the DNA passed on from one cell to another? Group 2 What do you call to the enzyme that cuts the old strand of DNA? How do you compare a DNA molecule to a zipper? Group 4 How many nitrogenous bases are present in DNA pairing? 2. How does the structure of a DNA molecule help account for the great variety of life that exist on earth?

The students will be grouped into four group they will creating DNA model to determine the sequence of bases in new DNA strand. Every group will bring the following materials on creating DIY Model of DNA such as: coloring materials, glue or paste, Scissors, Tape, illustration board, and folder. The students will be graded by the following rubrics. DNA MAKES DNA

Criteria Exemplary (5) Accomplish (4) Beginning (3) Presentation (5) The presentation of the assigned topic is present, And the overall presentation is slayed. (5)   The presentation of the assigned topic is present, but the impact of presentation is not there. (4) The presentation of assigned topic is not present and the overall presentation finish unclear. (3) Creativity (5) The DIY model of DNA was done creatively (5)   The DIY model of DNA was done but the design is minimal (4) The DIY model was done not creatively. (3) Collaboration/team work (5) The collaboration of the groups is present (5) The other members of the group are not working for assigned task (4) The collaboration of the group is not present (3)
