Doctor Ji: An Organizer Par Excellence His Unique Leadership Style

Doctor Ji Dr. Ji Kesav Baliram Hedgewar was an exceptional leader whose greatness was revealed upon close association. Those who viewed him from a distance often underestimated him. His true character and leadership qualities were evident to those who knew him closely. Critics often turned into admirers after interacting with him.

Loksangraha - A Science and an Art Dr. Hedgewar's ability to connect with people was both a science and an art. He believed no organization could thrive without public participation. Connecting with people requires more than just propagating ideology; it requires personal engagement. Example: Dr. Hedgewar transformed his hot-tempered nature to better connect with people, showing his commitment to this principle.

Loksangraha : A Science and an Art Swayamsevak as an instrument of Loksangraha . Public speeches and propaganda can start movements but can't sustain stable organizations. Personal qualities and behavior are crucial in connecting with people. Example: Addressing a false allegation calmly and using it as an opportunity to educate and connect. ( RSS teaches our children to steal) “I am a human being and to err is human” was not acceptable to him. “Use me ‘as is where is’ was against his ethos. He would insist upon improving our mistakes and making amends in our behaviour .

Inculcating Proper Values The second distinctive feature of Dr Hedgewar’s working style was inculcating good values and samskaras. Organization building goes beyond gathering people; it requires instilling strong ethos. Daily shakhas were designed to instill these values through structured programs. Example: Activities in shakhas aimed at building character and dedication, not just physical exercise. (Clean the Sangasthan and prepare)

Compassionate Relations Dr. ji The third distinctive feature of his working style was compassionate and sweet relations with all. Strong, healthy relationships are essential for a robust organization. Earlier, no organisation had developed such healthy and sweet and compassionate relationship amongst its members. This aspect is the gift of Dr Hedgewar to RSS. He personally attended family functions to build close bonds with swayamsevaks . Example: Attending 15-20 marriage ceremonies in a single day to strengthen personal connections. (in marriage functions Laugh all youths)

Changed the Concept of Swayamsevaks Dr. Hedgewar's personality was influential and electrifying, making his presence and contributions in meetings memorable for everyone. His meetings were always held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. Doctorji used to point out the shortcomings and mistakes of any swayamsevak without hurting his feelings. His idea was to ensure that each swayamsevak becomes a perfect or near-perfect worker to carry forward the RSS mission. His public relations technique were very powerful and magnetic. He totally changed the concept of swayamsevaks . Swayamsevak means patriot, swayamsevak means social activist, swayamsevak means dedicated to mission and providing capable leadership to the society.

Conclusion This trait distinguished him from all other contemporary leaders. While remembering him we should continue his mission of creating such swayamsevaks in the country.
