Downtown Austin Traffic Control:
Case Study On Effective Planning &
Coordination

TrafCon Services’ new case study outlines some of the
key traffic control considerations for infrastructure
projects such as plans, stakeholder coordination, and
technology.

The case study focuses on the
replacement of a large oak tree
in downtown Austin. The project
required closing multiple lanes of
traffic to accommodate a crane
and other equipment.

For this project, TrafCon Services developed a traffic control plan that included an analysis
of traffic conditions, impact assessments, and the strategic placement of signage.

TrafCon Services also collaborated with key
partners including Rand Construction, who handled
the project’s execution, and Enco Consulting, a civil
engineering firm.

TrafCon Services also coordinated with ROWMAN for
traffic control plan approvals, CapMetro to close the
bus lane, and the Signals Department to manage
traffic signal adjustments.

They also used digital planning tools. Go to https://www.trafconservices.com/case-studies/traffic-
