LARYNGEAL CREPITUS(CRICOVERTEBRAL REPITUS,MUIR’S CRACKLE) The grating sensation produced by movement of cricoid cartilage over cervical vertebra. It is produced when larynx is moved sideways with slight posterior pressure Normally laryngeal crepitus is present Absent laryngeal crepitus is BOCCA’S SIGN OR TROTTER’S SIGN: CAUSES: Post cricoid malignancy Retropharyngeal abscess Retropharyngeal cellulitis Laryngeal perichondritis Laryngeal carcinoma with extra laryngeal spread
