ANALYSIS OF EDUCATION ADVERTISING

Education  is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and  habits.

EDUCATION IN INDIA Education in India  is provided by the public sector  as well as the private sector, with control and funding coming from three levels:  central , state and local. Under various articles of the Indian Constitution , free and compulsory education is provided as a fundamental right to children between the ages of 6 and 14. The ratio of public schools to private schools in India is 7:5. India has made progress in terms of increasing the primary education attendance rate and expanding  literacy to approximately three-quarters of the population in the 7–10 age group, by 2011.

STAGES OF EDUCATION

PRE PRIMARY LEVEL The pre-primary stage is the foundation of children's knowledge, skills and behaviour. On completion of pre-primary education, the children are sent to the primary stage. 2-3 YEARS 3-4 YEARS 4-5 YEARS 5-6 YEARS

PRIMARY LEVEL Referred to as elementary education, to children aged 6 to 14 years old . Primary/secondary education in India is segregated as Primary (1st standard to 5th standard) Upper Primary (6th standard to 8th standard ) Lower Secondary (9th standard to 10th standard ), Higher Secondary (11th and 12th standard).

SECONDARY LEVEL Secondary education covers children aged between 12 to 18. Secondary education begins in grade 9 and lasts until grade 12 . The secondary stage is broken into two, two year cycles: Lower Secondary School, or ‘Standard X ’, Upper Secondary School, or ‘Standard XII ’ Upper Secondary School offers the students a chance to select a ‘stream’ or concentration of study, offering science, commerce, and arts

TERTIARY LEVEL Tertiary education,  also referred to as  third level,  and  postsecondary education is the educational level following the completion of a school providing a secondary education. There are various types of tertiary institutions in India, namely Universities (Central, State, Open ). The All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) was also established to oversee quality control of technical education and establishment of new private professional colleges.

Bachelor’s degrees in the fields of arts, science, social studies, and commerce are almost exclusively three year programs . Diploma programs exist and range from 2 – 3 years in length usually in a specialized engineering or technological field.   Professional Bachelor’s degrees, in the fields of Medicine, Architecture, Law, etc., vary from 4 – 5.5 years depending upon the discipline.

Admission to graduate (Master, Post Graduate Diplomas, MBA, etc.) programs is dependent upon completion of a bachelor’s degree.   Many institutions offering Post Graduate Diplomas in Management, lasting 2 years and generally equivalent to an MBA . Doctoral level degrees require a minimum of two or three years and consist of research and a thesis or dissertation.

VOCATIONAL LEVEL Young people who do not wish to go on to tertiary education, or who fail to complete secondary school often enroll at privately-owned vocational schools. T hey can specialize in just one or only a few courses . Examinations at the end of vocational education are conducted by the All India and State Boards of Vocational Education.

Vocational education is also available in skilled trades, such as heating and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical systems, and automotive repair . Examples of specific vocational classes might include the following: Introduction to health care for nursing Medical assisting Computer network management Word processing applications Office management skills Food and beverage management

UNIVERSITY LEVEL After passing the Higher Secondary Examination(the Standard 12 examination), students may enroll in general degree programmes such as bachelor's degree(graduation) in arts, commerce or science. Professional degree programme such as engineering, law or medicine and become B. Sc., B. Com., and B. A. graduates. The main governing body at the tertiary level is the University Grants Commission (India) (UGC), which enforces its standards, advises the government, and helps coordinate between the centre and the state to Post graduation and Doctorate (Ph.D)

OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING Distance education  or  long-distance learning  is the education of students who may not always be physically present at a school. Traditionally, this usually involved  correspondence courses  wherein the student corresponded with the school via post Today it involves  online education.

The Indian Government's stance on the issue is that parents are free to teach their children at home, if they wish to and have the means
