Women empowerment means to increase the educational, social, economical and political strength of women. it develops confidence and calibre in women.

History of women’s status in India From Vedic period to B ritish period status of women had been similar, women were ignored in men dominated society in India.

why women empowerment is essential Women kept on bottom of the society with lot of limitations on the name of tradition and religion. Social evils were there acted with women Sati pratha Dowry female foeticide child marriage Manusmiriti was forcefully imposed on women. They did not had right of education, property and leadership.

Rising of women empowerment in Modern India Indian constitution provides all safeguards to women for her growth and development. Constitution save women from social evils such as child marriage, dowry etc.

Educating a men means educating individual but educating women is educating two families. Dr. B R Ambedkar Indira G andhi launched the Indra Mahila Yojna when UNDP (united nation development programme ) started by UN. Its primary functions were following: Educational problems Social problems Gender prejudice Low confidence Lack of unity

Economic empowerment Economic stability plays significant role in empowerment of women. Working women is more confident and stable than non working women. The easily breakdown the barriers with confidence gained by economical independence.

Educational empowerment Education plays vital role in empowerment of women in I ndia. Women becoming Doctors, engineer, professor, scientist, MP, MLA, IAS, IPS etc because of right of education. Education makes women a confident women.

P olitical empowerment Women become Gram Pradhan , MLC MP, MLA, Chief Minister, P rime Minister in modern I ndia. Women is politically similar to men. Seats are reserve for women in different posts of public sector.
