SOCIETY Society is the people who interact in such a way as to share a common culture It refers to people who share a common culture in a particular location

CULTURE & SOCIETY A culture consists of the “ objects ” of a society, whereas a society consists of the people who share a common culture. a culture represents the beliefs, practices and artifacts of a group, while society represents the social structures and organization of the people who share those beliefs and practices.

Neither society nor culture could exist without the other.

Material culture refers to the objects or belongings of a group of people. Nonmaterial culture , in contrast, consists of the ideas, attitudes, and beliefs of a society. Material and nonmaterial aspects of culture are linked, and physical objects often symbolize cultural ideas. A school building belongs to material culture, but the teaching methods and educational standards are part of education’s nonmaterial culture.
