7. 7 Technology In general technology refers to the application of scientific laws and principles for the purpose of making daily life easy and comfortable is technology. With the help of these applications, we make different machines and devices which accelerate and systematize our daily life. Therefore, Technology refers to two aspects namely theoretical, based on ideas and practical based on putting those ideas into practice.

8. 8 Technology In Education Technology Of Education It refers to the use of technological tools, equipment, materials, machine and media in the educational process. It refers to a system to bring improvement in the total process of teaching & learning. Hardware, software, etc are used for individualized or group teaching. In this system we use theories of teaching, learning, psychology, child development, micro- teaching, etc.

It means the use of technological tools, equipment, materials, machine media and technical advancement in a well integrated manner. It is combined for maximizing the learning experiences of the students at various levels in formal, informal and non- formal settings. 13

21. 21 As defined by Momurin (1970 ), Instructional technology is a systematic way of designing, carrying out and evaluating the total process of learning and teaching in terms of human learning and communication, and employing a combination of human and non-human resources to bring about more effective instruction.

22. 22 In brief we can say the term "Instruction" refers to systematically organized programme designed to produce certain knowledge, skill, understanding, attitude, and behaviour patterns among learners. The term "Technology" refers to systematic application of scientific or other organized knowledge to practical tasks. So, a technology of Instruction is a particular systematic arrangement of teaching learning events designed to put the knowledge into practice in a predictable effective manner so as to attain specific objectives.

Educational Technology is the development of methods and techniques for effective teaching-learning. Educational Technology is not confined to the use of electronic media in Education. It includes systems approach also. Educational Technology involves total teaching and learning process: input, output and process aspects of education. Educational Technology provides technical guidance and solution to the educational problems. It helps in effective communication between teacher and students. Educational Technology speed up the process of learning. Educational Technology is very effective in large classroom management by using projector, microphone, speaker etc. Educational Technology can train large masses with the help of media. 24

Identifying the major obstacles in the educational environment and the ways and means to tackle those. Suggesting remedies to overcome the above traced out obstacles.
