2. VICTERS CHANNEL
•VICTERS is an Indian state owned free-to-air children’s educational
entertainment television channel owned and operated by KITE
Kerala under the Department of General Education and is wholly
owned by Government Of Kerala.

•VICTERS was launched on 3rd August 2006 by the then President
of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
•It was India's first comprehensive broadband network for schools on
EDUSAT.
•Its main objective is to modernize educational institutions in Kerala
using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and
provide interactive educational content for students and teachers.

4. ESTABLISHMENT
•Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Educationis the nodal
agency for implementing the EDUSAT network and runs KITE
VICTERS, the exclusive channel for education which is aired from
6 am to 11 pm.
•India's epoch making first broadband network on EDUSAT for
schools, KITE VICTERS inaugurated by A P J Abdul Kalam, the schools, KITE VICTERS inaugurated by A P J Abdul Kalam, the
president of India, on 28 July 2005 in Thiruvananthapuram.

•The telecast of programs started in August 2006 through the
assistance ofEDUSATnetwork.
•The channel is telecasted for 17 hours a day from 6 am to 11 pm.
•KITE VICTERS offers interactive virtual classrooms that enable the
school students as well as the teachers to directly communicate with
the subject experts and educationists.
•It also ensures the dissemination of high-quality education to the
students and teachers from the original source.

5. WHAT MAKE THE CHANNEL SPECIAL
QuALITy of EduCATIoNAL CoNTENT
•KITE VICTERS channel broadcasts digital classes for students from pre-primary to class 12.
It includes a textbook-based curriculum for various subjects, prepared by experienced
teachers and experts.
STATE goVERNMENT SuPPoRT
•KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education) is a Kerala government
undertaking that focuses on integrating IT in education. Hence, the content that is broadcast

BILINguAL CoNTENT (MoSTLy MALAyALAM)
•The primary language of the channel is Malayalam, which is highly relevant to the students of
Kerala. However, it also includes some English language content and various educational
programs.

•VICTERS has not only provided virtual classes but also used interactive modes for video
conferencing and other educational training purposes in the early stages.

•The channel broadcasts educational programs 24/7, including repeats of classes, so that
students can access classes at their convenience.

•Given the growing demand, KITE also launched its second channel KITE VICTERS PLUS in
September 2021, to broadcast more classes and programs.
