All non-emergency, in-hours examination requests should undergo a process of vetting by a radiologist or by
agreed delegation to a radiographer or sonographer prior to an appointment being made.
When vetting, Vetting Staff should be able to easily add imaging protocols, sequences, comments and other
requirements to a radiology request.Added benefit from vetting: the avoidance of inappropriate or
unnecessary irradiation to individuals, especially children.
