What is Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship Defined Is a science of converting ideas into business. (Ditablan & Abad, 2009)

Entrepreneurial Concept Aided with appropriate tools and techniques, learners are ushered to explore possibilities outside the employed world – being entrepreneurs .

K-12 Curriculum Goal “Gearing Up for the Future” – where the learners get to choose a specialization based on their aptitude and interest.

K-12 Curriculum Goal Seeks to contribute to the program’s outcome of producing holistically developed learners who have 21 st century skills.

Why is it important to study Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship is a key driver of our economy.  Wealth and a high majority of jobs are created by small businesses started by entrepreneurially minded individuals, many of whom go on to create big businesses. People exposed to entrepreneurship frequently express that they have more opportunity to exercise creative freedoms, higher self esteem, and an overall greater sense of control over their own lives. As a result, many experienced business people political leaders, economists, and educators believe that fostering a robust entrepreneurial culture will maximize individual and collective economic and social success on a local, national, and global scale. It is with this in mind that the Entrepreneurship Education was developed: to prepare youth and adults to succeed in an entrepreneurial economy.

Key Concept of Entrepreneurship Interest and vision Skill Investment Organization and Delegation Risk and Rewards

Core Competencies which all Entrepreneurs Need 1. Personal competencies:  creativity, determination, integrity, drive, emotional balance and self-criticism. 2. Interpersonal competencies:  communication, engagement/charisma, delegation, respect. 3. Business competencies:  business vision, resource management, networking, negotiating skills.
