Best Ways To Study Essay
Three Best Ways to Study For many students studying for an exam or a test can be very stressful.
For a lot of them studying is very hard because sometimes most of the materials they study, they
don't remember on the actual test or exam. However there are more than one way to study and
most theses studying methods can be very helpful and very reliable. A Lot of students tend to cram
all the studying two or the night before the test and according to UCLA professor of psychiatry
Andrew J. Fuligni (2012) cramming and trying to get as much information in your head two or a
night before the test is very counterproductive. How to study properly Although there are many ways
and methods of studying whether it be scientific or a family belief ,...show more content...
A second method of studying is by studying in an appropriate setting (Chadron State College).
Studying in an environment where distraction is very easy to find is very difficult. Studying in a
quiet setting with a lot of space away from distraction can help you study and can help memory
performance. With this setting it's also helpful to be consistent with the studying, studying at the
same time and same place is very effective especially when this is done 2 –3 weeks prior to the test
quiz or exam. With the proper setting, proper setting is also necessary. " Your study desk or table
should be equipped with all the materials you might need to complete the assignment, e.g., pencils,
pens, erasers, paper clips, stapler, dictionary, snacks, and liquid refreshments, etc." – Chadron State
College. Adding items that can help you study and removing things that might distract is also need
for effective studying. The third and final method of studying that is effective is studying while
listening to music. According to Goodwin (2015), studying with music before a test can improve
attention and can help lessen depression and anxiety. The "Mozart effect" is known to be helpful
but of course today the effects will be very different since students don't tend to listen to Mozart.
The type of music played also plays a pig role of studying. Studying with music that has lyrics is not

Managing Exam Stress Essays
Define stress: Stress is the body's natural response to a threatening situation, and stress causes the
release of hormones such as adrenaline, that prepare the body for its instinctual response to a threat:
flight, fight or freeze. The adrenaline causes processes in your body to change, for example, your
breathing and heart rate quicken, your senses sharpen, muscles tighten and your blood pressure is
raised. These changes allow your reaction time to increase, which could mean the difference between
life and death. However, many people, including students, live in stressful situations every day, and
this has a negative effect of their health.
Factors causing exam–related stress: One of the main causes of exam–related stress is the...show

There is a fear of disappointing a person such as a family member with poor academic results from
exams, or not being accepted into a tertiary institution. This fear motivates the student to do well, but
also creates stress because of the thought of not achieving top marks or being rejected from their
ideal university because of low exam results.
Inadequate exam preparation is a major cause of exam–related stress because the student feels like
there isn't enough time to study everything, and so they lose sleep because of worry or studying late
into the night. There are feelings of despondency and a sense of being overwhelmed by the amount
of work to study. Also, last minute studying lowers the chance of the facts being remembered, which
increases anxiety and stress during exam time. A lack of sleep before an exam, as well as not
having a proper breakfast or vitamin supplement also increases stress levels because the student is
tired, irritable, worried and the student's immune system weakens during stressful times such as
exams, increasing their chance of getting sick.
Learners' responses to exam situations: Nicky Hayes, the editor of Foundations of Psychology, says
that common responses to "exam stress" include disturbed sleep patterns, tiredness, worry, irregular
eating habits, increased infections because of a lowered immune system, and an inability to
concentrate. This is due to the increased amount of adrenaline being released into the body.

An Okay Test Taker Essay
I consider myself an okay test taker because I usually do okay on tests. Like sometimes I would
feel stressed out but other times I don't. It also depends on what kind of test it is, like if I feel like
that test is important then I would stress out. For example if it was a math or bio test I would
stress out and I would try to study during testing days. I would try to get enough sleep the night
before and I would have a healthy breakfast in the morning. I probably wasn't like this all the time
and I just started to realize that I should start to study if I wanted to get good grades. So I started to
study and I got better results on quizzes and tests. Sometimes I wouldn't study because I have other
things to do and then I forget or I don't

Implied Volatilities & Volatility Smiles
1. Why does the target cell in the Solver minimization reference the control variate estimate of the
American Put option instead of the value as implied by the tree?
It is because that control variate estimate is more accurate than the implied value by the tree. The
error of the binominal tree can be reduced by using it only to calculate the difference between the
price of the American and the equivalent European options with the same strike and the same time to
maturity.
2. Use Solver to find the implied volatilities for all put options with strike prices between $70 and
$100 that are divisible by 5 and...show more content...
Enter a start date of your choice and then enter in the field for expiration date =settlement+182 for
the first maturity. Submit the table and the graph.
5. Fix the time to maturity at 365 days. Now vary the strike price as before and also vary the
interest rate between 1.0%, 4.0% and 7.0%. Submit the table and the graph.
6. Describe briefly how the EEP depends on the parameters we varied in this exercise.
From the results we observe that early exercise premium increases at different maturity dates for the
same strike price and when varying strike price with the same maturity date the early exercise
premium increases non linearly in an upward trend. The shift in the trending from options 1, 2, 3 can
be explained by the maturity, as maturity increases an American option is more worthwhile because
more node exist where it is possible for us to exercise early. From the results early exercise price as
a function of strike price, maturity and interest rate, increases when we hold maturity constant and
vary the other two. The shift in trending can be explained by the increase in interest rates for
options 1, 2, 3 respectively. When interest rate is increased the present value of the underlying drops
and the likeliness of the option being in the money increases and therefore the value of put option
increases.

How to Prepare for a Test Essay
How to Prepare for a Test
During my last semester at college, I postponed thinking about preparing for my tests. As each
test day came closer, I got worried and desperately started cramming. I drank enough coffee to
keep the whole city awake and woke up thinking that I would get a low grade. Eventually, I
realized that students who always earned A's on their tests were not just lucky, but they really
studied hard all through the semester. There are different ways to prepare for a specific test, and
each individual must perfect his or her own style. I have developed a process that involves five
steps to prepare for a test. First, you should find out about the format of each specific test by asking
the teacher various questions....show more content...
A study guide is usually a separate booklet that accompanies the textbook and contains practice
questions and answers. While you are reading, mark important ideas and sections of that chapter by
using a highlighter or a colored pen. For example, highlight the topic sentences or headlines of the
different sections in the chapter and divide them into the subsections; this will make it easier for
you to review your textbook later. Third, you should form a study group or develop self–study
practice sessions. In your practice sessions, you should practice reviewing material that is
emphasized for your test. Also, you should practice reviewing material that is presented in numbered
lists that often provide the basis for essay and multiple–choice questions. For example, list thirteen
vitamins, or list warning signs for heart disease. Moreover, practice answering questions or material
with a lot of lecture or text coverage. Answer the questions you wrote in your text, and formulate
essay questions and outline answers. While practicing, if you have any questions that you are
unable to answer, consult your instructor to get the correct answers to study. Fourth, study
throughout the course; do not wait till the last day before the test to sit and cram your notes. In
order to follow your course material schedule, you will have to decide approximately how many
hours you will need to study for tests. Get a calendar and clearly mark off the hours each week that

Compare and contrast the traditional motivations for internationalization with the emerging
motivations.
Traditional motivations for internationalization were the starting point of expansion. The original
mental outlook of foreign operations was that they needed to merely be strategic and organized
extensions of the domestic business; therefore, traditional motivations reflected that perspective. For
example, one of the initial, traditional motivations was the need to secure key supplies. If a
company's resources were domestically scarce and/or costly, the motivation to expend to a country
where the resources needed were widespread became a priority. In addition, companies developed a
market–seeking behavior that brought about...show more content...
In addition, the changes in technology called for companies to seek out new, more economical
resources, which would impact factor costs in a positive way. The search for cheap labor and lower
production costs was an important driver of integration and globalization.
Another one of the three conflicting forces is national responsiveness. It was essential for companies
to be able to anticipate and respond to the different local environments of international countries. It
was also important for companies to start being more sensitive to the national, social, economic, and
political attributes of the countries to which they were expanding. For example, each country has
cultural differences and it is these cultural differences that shape the assumptions, beliefs, and
behavior of individuals within that country. In order for companies to overcome the obstacles of
cultural differences they need to forfeit their idea of standardization and focus on responding to the
opportunities of the cultural differences. described as a love–hate relationship. Although they can
both benefit from one another, they can also frustrate each other because of their different
motivations and objectives. The final of the three conflicting forces is worldwide learning. With
transnational MNEs being as competitive as they have become, it is essential for companies that
want to maintain a competitive advantage to develop worldwide learning and use it to their
advantage.

Principles of Assessment Essay
Unit 301: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment Question 1: Define the key
concepts and principles of assessment We should always consider what the assessment experience
of assessment is like for our learners. Considering key principles in the designing of our
assessments will keep our views fresh and reflective. Key principle 1: Put the learner at the heart of
the assessment. The assessment experience should be a motivational one for our learners. It is only
by developing the learners understanding of the function of assessments and enabling their
development as a learner that a motivational experience is facilitated. Learners often feel detached or
on the periphery of assessment because they perceive it...show more content...
Techniques and activities should be introduced so that learners and peers can actively take part in
the grading process. This can assist students in the understanding of the task and also inform future
learning. Stage 4: Analysis of results – consistency in marking is essential to help keep learners
motivated. If inconsistencies are seen in a group, maintaining positivity becomes difficult. Learners
should explore results and be offered the opportunity to comment on their grading. Stage 5 –
Feedback – possibly the most important element of the assessment cycle. Supportive, informative
and constructive feedback should be offered to enable students to see how they performed. The
feedback should include advice on how to improve their learning and future performances
(feed–forward feedback). Feedback should be offered continuously and in a cyclic manner.
Question 3: identify the regulations and requirements relevant to assessment in your own area of
practice. Regulations It is a requirement that centres provide CYQ with the following: List of
named assessors with signatures Details of all assessors' qualifications and experience (CVs)
Copies of all relevant certificates Clear specification of the assessment roles and responsibilities A

Reflection On Final Exam
Final Exam Essay The reflection quote at the beginning of the exam instructions is an interesting
thought. I see myself reflecting more on the life aspects of this quote versus the complexities of
how it affects my writing abilities. I entered into this course with few expectations of my writing
abilities after my last composition course. There are still more flaws in my writing abilities than
perfections. However, the confidence has been built to be able to complete writing assignments for a
future employer. My process in writing an essay, report, or proposal has remained the same from
the first composition course to this technical course. I can write adequately but do still struggle
with different aspects of the composition process. My expectations starting this class in May were
extremely low after the struggles with the first composition course I completed. My goal was to do
my best and just try to maintain a passing grade. However, this course was different, there was a
practicality involved that I crave to do my best work. It was interesting to put together the financial
plans of a non–existent company that in realty will never come to pass. The TV show "Shark Tank"
makes these presentations seem easy. But it does not show the many hours the owners must put in to
make their presentations perfect. The PowerPoint presentation assignment took me several hours
and retakes to complete. In addition, the hours of research on long–arm quilting machines to make

Examination Should Not Be Abolished
Examination is a very wide word, which is used in all spheres of life. We have exams everywhere
around the world. Youngs and adults can have exams, there is not a particular age to have exams.
However, some do not agree that exams are important. Examination is a word that most students
are fear of. A word that has a power to change a happy person into a frustrated and nervous one.
However, it is a big part of the school that all students have to go through. For some students, they
think that exams could make them stress and could cause depression. They have to burn the
midnight oil just because they have exams. Well, students should know how to manage their time so
that they would not feel stress. Exams could give a big impact in everyone...show more content...
However, many students may overcome their nerves so they may perform well. Exams also
improve students' responsibility. The students will have more time to study about the topic and plan
the strategies for the exams. They will be more responsible towards their works just to be one the
top. So, students should be optimistic towards exams. Examinations add to our ability, power of
toleration, perseverance and other good qualities. Exams are not only necessary but they are also
blessings.
As a student, we will have loads of homework given by the teachers. For some students, they will do
all the homework by themselves and they will do well with their own effort. But sometimes, for
some students that are weak in certain subjects, they will seek some helps from others. This mean
that they do not do the homework with their own effort. So, how can the teachers access the
students' performance through the homework? For the class tests, different teachers will have
different marking schemes. Some teachers are too lenient and some are too strict. It would not be
fair for the students. Without the exams, the teachers cannot assess the true ability of a student and
that is why exams are important.
For the students that achieve well and are able to pass with flying colours results, they surely will
be happy. It will motivate and keep students on their toes. Some students that are not able to achieve
their goals, will also be motivated and it will

Test Taking Essay
The test taking lessons have helped me learn more about having good strategies for a test. I feel
that with these lessons learned I can have more confidence to take a test and pass it. In this report
I want to show why test taking is an important skill to learn. I also wanted to describe how I have
prepared for test in the past. I also wanted to discuss three strategies I have learned from the
computer tutorial in class and how I have changed my study habits so I can do better on test.
Test taking is one of the most important things to have good skills at. Test usually have a significant

I used to stop on answers that I could not figure out and spend a lot of time just being frustrated.
Now I know to skip those questions and move onto the next one and come back to them once my
test is completed. I used to read some out of the textbook on the chapters covered on the test, but I
found that I would study a lot of information not relevant to the test. Now I know to take a look at
other test and see what kinds of questions were asked and see how I can apply the mistakes I made
before to the test that I am about to take.
The test taking tutorial taught me different strategies for different types of test. For multiple choice
test I have learned to eliminate options that are unrelated to the question. I learned to do that because
I would sometimes just pick what sounded good and not really read the rest of the choices
available. I also had a problem with essay test. One strategy I would use that is to check my
answer for grammar, spelling, and completion. I used to not do that because I felt rushed, but when
I would get my test back it would be all marked up with corrections that needed to be made,
resulting in a bad grade. On matching test I learned to single out the correct answers by going down
the left column and figuring out the questions that I knew and leaving the ones that I wasn't to sure
on, and that would make It easier to single out the right answers.

My Night Before My Final Exam
I walk in to a classroom; the only one in there is me. I sit down, and my teacher hands me a test. I
start to panic. I crammed for the test the night before; however, I look at the test with confusion.
The feeling of anxiety starts to take over my mind because I cannot think of the answers.
Suddenly, I wake up in the middle of the night; my breathing is fast and my forehead is sweating.
I had this nightmare the night before my final exam in AP Biology. I had spent the last two
weeks studying for this one particular exam because I needed to make an A on the exam to pull
out with an A in the class. The stress in those two weeks had been one of the most stressful
moments in my life because of the pressure I had on making an A. There were moments when I
almost gave up, but because I took deep breaths when I was stressed out, did not procrastinate,
and took breaks when breaks were needed, I had reached the goal of making an A on both the
quiz and the test. Whenever I was too stressed to think straight, I just took a deep breath. Many
times in life, I find my brain trying to work too fast for me to handle; this happens because it tries
to process the most amount of information it can as quickly as possible. Not long after, my brain
starts to overload, and I cannot retain any of the information. Whenever that started to happen when
I was studying for AP Biology, I stopped everything I was doing, closed my eyes, and took in the
deepest breath I possibly could. This deep breath is

Examination Malpractice
INTRODUCTION
1.1Background to the Study Teachers at different stages use examination to assess and evaluate the
academic achievement of students in the school system. In all teaching and learning situations
therefore, it is essential to find out from time to time how much the students are achieving from what
they are being taught. In order to do this effectively, teachers, examining bodies like the West African
Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), National Teachers Institute
(NTI) etc and classroom teachers assess the students by administering weekly, termly, end of year test
and final examinations. Bearing in mind the role that education is suppose to play in nation building,
a nation stands the risk...show more content...
In other words, since punitive approach seems to have failed to deter students from engaging in
examination malpractices, a preventive approach should be considered through an investigation into
the study habits and examination anxiety of students. Study habits and examination anxiety have
been found to affect academic performances either positively or negatively (Culler and Holahan,
1980; Spielberger and Vagg, 1987; Morakinyo, 1986; Birenbaurn and Pinku, 1997; Kagu, 2000).
These studies and a plethora of others, found that highly examination–anxious students typically
have poor study habits as well as negative, non–productive attitude towards academic work hence
they perform poorly in examinations. These established that student's study habits could either be
good and effective or poor and ineffective. Generally, it has been observed that most of the new
generation of students all over the world do not like to study hard (Bauer, 2002; Larson, 2003).
Students in Ughelli North Local Government Area are not excluded from this observation. Some of
them pay less attention when teachers are in their classes and spend much of their time in

Exam Week Essay
Coming from Rome, Italy this blog was very intriguing, it talks about how to survive exams. This
certain exam week was for the fall semester, that starts October 9th to October 13th. In the course
of the week prior to the exams, students study very fiercely into their textbooks and anxiously
await their grade. This can be a very frustrating week according to this "blogger" we will call him
"Rwulf". The anticipation leaves students very nervous and afraid. Even seeing the scary word
"EXAM" in any circumstance. This blogger describes this toxic atmosphere to "an immensely
gloomy atmosphere" surrounds our residence and school, 24 hours of the day. The tendency to go
overboard with studying and the complete stress can really wear students...show more content...
In many circumstances of trying to survive stress from exams in a foreign country might appear
difficult. If you take anything from those who study overseas is taking the advice of just sometimes
making things better and not worse, especially if you attend Temple Rome.
This blog caught my attention, I always find myself, to do better and taking suggestions is a part
of this transformation. If anyone knows about transformation it should be me. One of the biggest
things I took from this blog is, my studying location is a good thing to consider in your quest for
the best grade you can get. Finding a good place to study and make it your own. The more time
you spend in this special place, the more it will become associated with the work of learning. I
struggle with many issues in my life, and because of all the competing situations for your attention,
it's hard to concentrate on studying. And yet I am in school, you must do at least a little studying
to progress from year to year. The key to effective studying isn't cramming or studying longer, but
definite studying smarter. You can begin studying smarter with these ten proven and effective study
habits. I can't "force" myself to be in the right mindset, and it is during such hard times I should
simply avoid studying. being distracted by a relationship issue, bills, children then I found out that
studying is just going to be very frustrating. I will now try and come back to it when I am
