Persuasive Essay On The Bogeyman
Compare and Contrast on the Boogeyman
Intro The Boogeyman is a horror character that appears in short stories he scares children at a
certain age usually 2 6 years old. This horror character usually only comes for you when you re
alone typically at night when you are sleeping in your room, he hides in the closet. What he does is
he is the horror character that makes young kids do as they are told like for example when your
mom says eat your vegetables and you said no as a kid she would say ВЁok if you donВ ґt eat your
vegetables the Boogeyman will come for you at night.ВЁSo the Boogeyman is there to ensure we
follow the rules and bring good behavior towards children.
Paragraph 1 In the Scientific American story it tells us that the Boogeyman is a teaching tool for
young children and that he is a factor there to punish or steal children when they are not following
the specific rules they have to be following. He is a shapeless factor so that means he could be
anywhere at anytime so typically parents use the closet or say donВ ґt check under the bed .The
Boogeyman hides in the closet and the reason why parents say that the Boogeyman comes out
the closet is because typically at the age of 2 6 kids have a fear towards the dark and that is
when the closet also becomes a factor that parents use to make sure that their son or daughter
follow the rules they have to follow or do what they are told to do.Now in King s short story he used
the closet as the place where the Boogeyman would

Frame Narrative
The way in which a story is organized or complied adds to the ideas, themes, and character of the
story. A frame narrative is a way in which a story is told were a main story leads reader into other
stories within. Essentially a frame narrative is a story within another story. As in the story One
Thousand and One Night the frame narrative is used to tell many different stories within the main
story. Although the stories in One Thousand and One Nightsare separate from the main story the
stories are still relative to the main idea. In One Thousand and One Night the separate stories
within are used to delay execution of one of the main characters. In the story of Canterbury tales
the frame narrative is used to pass the time of a long journey... Show more content on

King Shahrayar is persuaded by the frame narrative, or the stories with One Thousand and One
Nights, to revaluate his morals and unjust killing of dozens of innocent women. Just as in One
Thousand and One Nights the Canterbury tales also uses a frame narrative to add to the central
ideas and message of the story. The Canterbury tales examines a group of people who are making
a pilgrimage to Canterbury. The journey is quite a long one and it is suggested by the host that
they each tell stories to pass the time of their long journey. So each member of the group begins
to tell a separate story which is indicative of the frame narrative. Although, each stories differ
from one another they all add in some way to the overall story of Canterbury Tales. Some stories
such as the Night s Tale are about great valor and chivalry, while other are less serious and more
satirical. Here this quote is expressing what the travelers will do along their journey to pass the
time as said by the host: Each one of you, to make our journey short, Shall tell two stories, as we
ride, I mean, Toward Canterbury; and coming home again Shall tell two other tales he may have
heard Of happenings that some time have occurred (2066). Also, since they will be all together
for such a long journey it is nice that they get to know one another more personally. This also adds
to the overall idea of the story. The frame narratives or stories within each tell

The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr Hyde
The Strange Case of Dr Banner and Hulk
Reinterpretations have played a major role in all forms of entertainment. They provide another,
unique perspective on something old, something you may have read or seen. They make it
possible to relive, or re experience something that you cherished, or they can enable you to love
something you hated. Reinterpretations have a lot of artistic power, as can be seen in a review of
The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, written by Robert Louis Stevenson, compared to The
Incredible Hulk, directed by Louis Leterrier. The value of reinterpretations can be explored through
the use of these two texts by looking at the theme of duplicity in man, and analysing the characters
Bruce Banner and Dr Jekyll.
Dr ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As time progresses Mr Hyde dominates his alter ego, Dr Jekyll, until only Mr Hyde remains.
The plot of The incredible Hulk seems to be somewhat reversed. The movie begins with a similar
experiment, but the progression of the characters is opposite. Bruce Banner learns to control the
Hulk over time, whereas Dr Jekyll loses his control over Mr Hyde. Although the movie starts off
with a similar experiment, the experiment is performed on Dr Banner (Dr Jekyll) by General
Ross rather than Dr Banner performing it on his own impulse as Dr Jekyll did. The experiment
prompts the initial transformation, which leaves Dr Banner in the form of the Hulk (Mr Hyde).
However, the movie removes the potion element of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and instantly begins
with the involuntary transformations. Similar to Dr Jekyll s transformation from socialite to social
recluse, Bruce Banner goes into hiding where he learns how to somewhat control his newfound
condition through meditation. This event is similar to Dr Jekyll s partial recovery when he stops
taking the potion and becomes more sociable again.
Some major plot changes have been implemented in the reinterpretation, yet the character of Dr
Banner remains very similar to the character of Dr Jekyll. Some differences do exist, however,
and they do have an effect on the invited reading. For example, Dr Banner is motivated by love to
learn to control his conditions, whereas Dr Jekyll transforms willingly to explore

Tolstoy And Lord Of The Flies
As Leo tolstoy, the author of War and Peace, once wrote Here I am alive, and it s not my fault,
so I have to try and get by as best I can without hurting anybody until death takes over. In relation
to The Lord of The Flies the boys on the island try not to hurt anyone until they can no longer take
being civilized, death took over. The Lord of The Flies is a novel by William Golding, in his story a
group of boys fleeing from Britain get deserted on an island due to a plane crash. At first they try
to be civilized, but then the boys started killing each other because they believe there is a beast
among them. Later in the book they divide into two clans, until only two people are left in their
clan. The other clan chases them down, and gets

Bach Religious Life
When examining the theme of Music and Religious Life, the question that often comes up is,
what makes this music religious? Is it the choice of the musician or is it out of the artist s
control all together? It s hard to say with confidence that the answer is just one or the other
because it s easy to find exceptions for each. When looking at artists that have been able to have a
career as a musician and as a religious musician like Johann Sebastian Bach and Isaac Slade from
The Fray, it appears it s not about what the artist s preference is, but the preference of the people
and environment around them.
Johann Sebastian Bach found himself in a variety of environments. Living in an era when the
patronage system was present, his compositions were written with the intent of appeasing the
patrons. Bach s early career as a church organist, not surprisingly, was a time when he was heavily
regarded as a Christian musician. The setting of the church and the ... Show more content on

He wrote songs devoted to his faith early in his career. Inside the church his songs were popular,
but when Slade would share his songs with his friends outside of church he got a different
reaction. Slade says none of my friends outside the church understood any of my songs; we had a
different set of vocabulary. That was the moment in which he realized that, as he puts it, God called
them to the secular market. Slade realized his religious songs weren t in demand outside the
church and much like the old patronage style system of Bach s time, he changed his music to
accommodate the preference of the listeners. He formed the band, The Fray, in 2003 with some
old classmates of his and started recording secular songs which have been widely successful
(Friedman). The path Isaac Slade has taken in his career as a musician has been heavily dependent
on the environment of which he has been a

Essay on Comparing and Contrasting Two Views on Leadership...
Effective leadership is a learned experience, one is not born a leader as research suggests. The
following paper compares and contrasts two views on leadership traits and skills one bad leader
and one good leader. Working with both leaders for the past twenty six years, I have learned a
great deal on how misleading and leading differ and the challenges both leaders faced in addressing
their leadershipeffectiveness in a range of issues within our organization.
Background
Our past CEO has been with our organization for twenty four years. She has an associate s degree
in business and finance and had previously worked as a billing administrator for a radiology group.
Our present CEO is the sole physician owner of a private family ... Show more content on

In addition, learning to use power and influence effectively is important in managing techniques
for power and influence. Lastly, the effectiveness used is highly dependent on the leader s
ability on his or her character, knowledge, or experience to gain a following
(csuglobal.blackboard, Module 1, 2014). The previous CEO held a distributive type of power
which relied on acquiring her power at the expense of others. She was able to get things done
with the use of coerciveness and aggressiveness (Gilley, 2006). Her influence towards others arose
from legitimate power based on her ability to influence attributed to her powerful position (Gilley,
2006). The authoritarian power proved to be ineffective in her leadership and therefore created
inactive participation from subordinates and peers. In contrast, our present CEO holds an
integrative power based on cooperation, collaboration and problem solving (Gilley, 2006).
Furthermore, his power gives individuals to

organization. His influence is demonstrated through his use of expert power. Gilley, (2006)
describes expert power as having confidence, being decisive, being thoughtful and reflective all of
which are traits of our present CEO.

The Chuckwallas and Evolutionary Research
Ever since Charles Darwin s first publication of On the Origin of Species in 1859, island habitats
have been used by a number of scientists as the most efficient laboratories to observe the natural
process of evolution taking place in modern day organisms. Several kilometers northeast of the
Galapagos Islands, where Darwin famously performed his research, is a small group of islands in
the Sea of CortГ©s, also known as the Gulf of California, between the Baja California peninsula
and Mexico (see Figure 1 on page 18). Here many evolutionary biologists of the 20th and 21st
century performed research on the insular organisms inhabiting these island habitats. One group of
lizards in particular known by the common name chuckwallas has gained a lot of focus in
evolutionary research.
Chuckwallas is the name of organisms in the Sauromalus genus apart of the Iguanidae family. They
are herbivorous lizards commonly found in the deserts of southwestern United States and
Northern Mexico. Three species, in particular, are found on the islands off the cost of the
mainland within the Sea of CortГ©s: Sauromalus obesus (= ater), Sauromalus varius, and
Sauromalus hispidus (see Figure 2 on page 20). S. obesus is a common species found on the
mainland as well as few islands, while S. varius are S. hispidus are endemic to specific islands in
the Sea of CortГ©s: mainly San Esteban Island and Angel de la Guarda Island, respectively. Both of
these insular species also show signs of gigantism

The Physics Of Continuum Mechanics
In continuum mechanics, a Newtonian Fluids is a fluid that the viscous stress arising from its
flow, at every point, are linearly proportional to the local strain rate. The reason we research
Newtonian Fluids is that Newtonian fluids are the simplest mathematical models of fluids that
account for viscosity. In natural world, there are many common liquids and gases that can be
assumed to be Newtonian Fluids. For example, water, alcohol, thin oil, air, and most of pure
liquids. Newtonian fluids get the name by Isaac Newton, who is one of the most famous scientists
in the world. He is the first person who found the relation between the rate of shear strain and shear
stressfor such fluids in differential form. Newtonian Fluids can be also called linearly viscous fluid,
which has been found to describe adequately the mechanical behavior of many real fluids under a
wide range of situations. In order to study Newtonian Fluids, we need to understand the concept of
fluids.
A liquid is a nearly incompressible fluid that will suit to the its container s shape. However, its
volume always independent of pressure. There are four basic states of matter. They are solid,
gas, plasma, and liquid. Besides, Liquid is the only state with a definite volume but no fixed
shape. Water is the most common liquid on Earth. Liquid and gas are similar in many ways. Both
of them can flow and take the shape of a container. However, most liquids cannot be compressed as
others. Also liquids will not to

Tesla Dbq
The year of 1887 sparked an age of light, of innovation, and a bitter rivalry that would mark the
century. In the year 1887 the War of Currents began. On a brisk November morning Nikola Tesla
filed for patents on his new, never seen before, polyphase AC motors and full electrical transmission
system. These patents included everything needed to transmit AC power to the entire world. Seeing
the promise, wealthy Pittsburgh industrialist who had been interested in AC power for a number of
years, George Westinghouse decided that purchasing Tesla s patents could be a once in a lifetime
opportunity. Shortly after this revelation, Westinghouse arranged a meeting with Tesla. Tesla was
far from a business man, nonetheless he left this meeting with copious... Show more content on

By the end of 1887, Westinghouse owned a total of 68 AC power stations to Edison s 121, and
that number was rising quickly. Edison knew he had to act fast, he knew he needed to prove
that DC power was superior. In February of 1888 Edison began his first attack on AC. Edison s
propaganda war front began with, A Warning from the Edison Electric Light Company , an 84
page pamphlet that was sent to any company considering buying from any of Edison s
competitors. This pamphlet warned that AC power yielded unsatisfactory results (30), could only
be applied to a few practical uses (30),and was a form of real danger (31). Further emphasising the
danger inherent in AC power, Edison hired a man named Harold Brown to be his anti AC
spokesman. Brown would travel around and speak to audiences about the AC s harmfulness, then
provide a demonstration by electrocuting animals. Despite his success, Brown was not satisfied by
the effect electrocuting animals had on the audience, he wanted to provide a demonstration that
would have the public believe without a doubt that AC current was not to be touched. On August
6th, 1890 William Kemmler, a convicted ax murderer, was electrocuted by a Westinghouse
generator illegally purchased by Brown. The technique was later dubbed

Like Sisyphus, many people have their rock that they deal with every day. If I had to say what my
rock was, I would have to pick school. The reason I picked it, would be because I am forced to go
by law not by choice. The unpleasantness of having to go to sleep and waking up early on a daily
basis stinks. I must also take classes that do not interest me for about seven hours. Even after school
I still have to devote my time to homework. School takes up a big part of my life whether I want it

Although some people may struggle with their rock I try to deal with mine with ease because I

Julius And Ethel Rosenberg Research Paper
Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were an American couple that was charged with espionage. The US
government convicted them of being spies for the Soviet Union. It wasn t something of a little
matter. What the Rosenbergs gave, it has the power to destroy families, towns, even major cities.
They gave the Soviet Union the plans to the atomic bomb. On the fateful day of June 19, 1953,
Julius and Ethel Rosenbergwere strapped to the electric chair and executed at a prison called Sing
Sing. Although Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were significant to the Soviet Union s development of
their atomic weaponry, their crime cost America a lot of panic, cost the government a lot of
money, and cost them their lives. Was it really worth it? They were the most famous orphans of the
cold war. (Roberts). This powerful sentence is used to describe the impact that the Rosenbergs
death had on their children and the media. Both brothers, along with a whole group of people,...

Why I Want To Study Gut Microbiology
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The emergence of new pathogens from food and water, particularly
bacteria, as well as the recurrence of known food pathogens, has received research attention in
Nutrition and Food Science. The unusual dietary pattern and nutrition affect the microbial
population in the human gut (Probiotic), with an ample effect on the immune system and human
health. To understand the interactions of gut microflora with food and nutrients, and their potential
involvement in disease etiology and human health, novel approaches tailored from various
disciplines are required. The additional concern is the growing number of children who are

Most software for Linux is included with its installation CD, whereas for Windows, everything
must be purchased separately for a high price. Also, in most situations, the software for both
operating systems is equivalent, yet there is a significant price difference between them. A person
using the computer on a daily basis and who needs various software applications will prefer Linux
over Windows.
HARDWARE:
More hardware is available for Windows than for Linux. However, Linux is compatible with
most hardware and it runs on almost any platform. It can also run from a CD ROM whereas
Windows has to be installed on the hard drive before it can be used. So, for someone who uses a
lot of hardware such as CD/DVD burner or printer, Windows would be more beneficial than Linux.
USER INTERFACE:
Windows is more user friendly thank Linux. However, Linux is more customizable than Windows
since its code is accessible to anyone. For someone who does not care much about the extra
features such as the uniqueness of the desktop, Windows will be better because of its user friendly
interface.

SECURITY/STABILITY:
As of May 2004, it was calculated that there are about 40000 viruses created for Windows over
the past ten years.[1] Furthermore, this count of viruses implies that Windows is being attacked by
almost 10 viruses per day. Compared to Windows, Linux is virus free. Linux strictly asks for the

One key principle of the Human Ecology theory is development occurs through the interaction of a
mosaic of factors family microsystems influence and are influenced by transactions with other

Each profession is required to implement the latest research and theories into their work. According
to the book, staying current and preparing can include reviewing research on a topic, implementing
various theories in work, collecting a list of community resources, and updating a personal
philosophy statement (Walsh, DeFlorio, Burnham, Weiser,114).
In addition, each profession value and respect diverse families. According to the American

Ice Hockey in Canada Essay
Ice Hockey in Canada
Ice hockey has in the last hundred years evolved to become international. Canada is in jeopardy
of losing its six teams. Tradition run deep in all of the cities and also professional hockey teams
create thousands of jobs and help out in the communities. Teams in the Canadian market are having
trouble keeping their programs in the black because of higher taxes and a weaker Canadian dollar.
In order for professional hockey teams in Canada not to relocate to United States, it is necessary
for Ottawa to provide tax cuts for them. Professional hockey has been around in Canada for over

Seemingly, everyone recognizes that in Canada, Hockey is King (c1).
These teams have made a home for themselves in their towns and if these two franchises are up
rooted from their communities they may not be gained much of an advantage even with the lower
taxes (Dryden 2).
One of the fundamental problems with Canadian hockey teams competing with their American
counterparts is that Canadian teams pay all of the player s salaries and travel are in American
currency. However, all the revenue from ticket sales, concessions and advertising is in Canadian
currency. American teams have an advantage over their Canadian counterparts because all the
money that was created from ticket sales, concessions and selling advertising is one third more
than what Canadian teams will make. This is because of a weaker Canadian dollar, 69 cents to
one American dollar, means that Canadian franchises will always make one third less from
basic franchise profits as long as the Canadian dollar stays the same. The teams are among
Canada s fewest businesses that pay most of their salaries and expenses in U.S. dollars out of
revenue earned in depressed Canadian dollars (May p 2). This is a problem because the weaker
Canadian dollar makes it harder for these franchises to run day to day operations (Duhatschek 7).

copied organism, which has the same genetic code as the original, is called a clone. In the last two
decades, cloning technology has been becoming more refined, and has been broadly applied in
agriculture, humanhealth, and many other fields. Breeding by cloningmeans being able to directly
reproduce an animal with a desirable set of genetic traits. The world s most famous clone is Dolly
the sheep, who was the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell. This idea of being able to
clone animals was encouraged by wanting to bring back extinct animals such as the wholly
mammoth and dinosaurs, and maintain endangered species. Hence, it logically... Show more content

Weathering The Postwar Years Chapter 2 Summary
1. The chapter I am reviewing is chapter 2, Weathering the Postwar Years. This chapter is about
how the Signal Corps regained their place after the Civil War by establishing their mission as the
weather service provider. General Myer was the main effort to revive the Signal Corps back to
life. The need for reporting the weather paved the road for the Signal Corps to build the telegraph
network lines throughout the country. This network enabled the Signal Corps to communicate and
share data instantly. Though the Signal Corps was successful when it started, it had trials and
tribulations of its own that it had to endure. 2. General Myer wanted to establish a more concrete
reason to keep the Signal Corps when Congress wanted to cut down... Show more content on

The corruption of Captain Howgate, who stole funds from the Corps fund did not help the Corps
reputation during the reduction of the budget. Along with this incident General Hazen made it
worse by being on the opposition with the Secretary of War Robert Todd Lincoln. Lincoln who
disliked Hazen did not support the Signal Corps which led to the reduction of observation stations
and telegraph line services and maintenances. Along with the budget cuts, the Signal Corps was
being scrutinized by the federal government as to the relevance of the work of the Soldiers and
Civilians in the Corps. The Allison Commission report resulted in the Signal Corps closing down
Fort Myer and the closure of the study room within the Signal Office. The Corps weather mission

Academic Dishonesty In America
Pshh, let me see number four, is probably something we have all heard or seen someone do
during a test. Did you know that 85 percent of adolescents participate in academic dishonesty
before graduating high school? As I jotted down ideas, I came up with the concept of cheating
because I see many people in my surrounds doing it. The categorical and numerical questions I
came up with in my study are, What subject would you cheat on, if you were in need for a good
grade? If you were given 10 problems, how many problems would you cheat on? In my hypothesis,
I theorized that math would be the subject most cheated on because many students on campus have
a difficulty in the subject. I also made an assumption, that students would cheat 7 8 times if they
were given a ten problem test, due to my experience with seeing students not getting caught.... Show

Examples Of Honesty In Othello
Othello written by William Shakespeare is a play centered around the theme of fidelity and
honesty. In Iago s own words during act 2 scene 1 lines 223 248. The main villain in this story,
Iago is driven by the way women act. Iago is the main villain throughout the story, he is very
twisted in the web of lies he strings to manipulate the purity of people. His actions are motived by
the jealousy of a main character Cassio, and the anger through his story of an affair between Othello
and his wife.
In Iago s speech, he speaks about the relationship between Othello and Desdemona in the sense
that she will one day get tired of Othello and move on to someone better. He expresses how easily
she fell for Othello and how easily he believes that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The act of honesty is repeated throughout the story line of Othello, but in different ways. There is
honesty in the commitment of a relationship, honesty between two people, honesty in the truth
about the true character. When Iago is speaking with Roderigo in the speech, his shows honesty
with the idea of Desdemona falling for another guy. In the rest of the story Iago shows to other
people that he is an honest man who people can trust and depend on. Though anyone who is
reading the book can easily see that none of what he says to expresses to other people is truly
honest. Affected by the jealousy of Cassio getting the position, Iago is angered to make a plan to
get the position instead of Cassio. First proving that Cassio is not fit, then pinning an affair
between Cassio and Othello s wife Desdemona. He pins little details like a handkerchief that
Othello gave Desdemona, in Cassio s, then brought Othello to see that. Once he has Othello
believing his wife was cheating on him, Iago misses that his own wife isn t necessarily on his
side. Iago s wife Emelia ends up telling everyone the truth, sadly after Othello does go unhinged
and kills Desdemona. In the end the story shows that love and honesty go hand in hand.
Dishonesty makes love grow weak, like it did between Desdemona and Othello. Iago s actions
were majorly punishable by death, not getting him what he had wanted. He manipulated so many
people in efforts to get a single position, but ruins everyone s life around him without having a
single care about what he is doing. The idea of honesty is repeated to dramatize the idea of what
happens when honesty is betrayed. If Iago were to have been an honest man, he wouldn t have

Difficulties In Teaching Pronunciation
Most of English teachers tend to teach their non native students grammar rules and vocabulary, get
them to participate in communicative activities and become qualified in reading and listening. As a
result, teaching pronunciation is not taken into account due to teachers assumption of having a lot
to do rather than focusing on proper pronunciation. Apparently, they claim that students will acquire
it throughout learning. Therefore, there is no need to allocate time for teaching pronunciation.
Accordingly, ESL learners encounter many difficulties in proper pronunciation.
First, we can distinguish between accents and dialect . The former refers to the differences only in
pronunciation that may occur due to geographical differences, social and cultural differences, and
different educational background. The latter indicates the variety of a language, which differs in
things other than pronunciation such as vocabulary, grammar, and word order. We can spot some
of the factors that affect the pronunciation of ESL learners especially Arabs. Accordingly, the
interference of the learners native language and the learner s age can determine the accuracy of his
pronunciation; the younger is he the easier he will master good pronunciation. Further, the amount
of exposure to English exceeds the ability to speak native like English, especially if the learner is
living in an English speaking environment.
From my personal experience, when I was an Arab ESL language learner, my friends

An exhibit on display at the Yale Center for British Art, takes a look into the undescribed
appearance of the Bard. The Searching for Shakespeare exhibit contains eight images of
Shakespeare along with rare theatrical artifacts and elements. Inexcusable differences in
physical attributes of Shakespeare in the art pieces lead people to believe that the artists who
painted him were as in the dark about what the Bard truly looked like as we are. This physical
difference between characteristics of the Bard s look gave anti Stratfordians another reason to
doubt the imaginative writing claimed to be Shakespeare s due to the obscurity of how the Bard
looked. It seemed as if painters themself were uncertain of his appearance. Two portraits included
in the exhibit that have been widely accepted as the authentic appearance of Shakespeare have
probably contributed most to the doubts. One posthumous engraving by Martin Droeshout, a
Dutch artist of the 1600 s and a memorial bust in Stratford s Trinity Church are both disconcerting.
In both pieces the playwright looks distant, slightly uncomfortable and vacant looking, as if he d
rather not be looking at all. The two compositions make people suspicious about the Bard and lead
some to the conspiracy that Shakespeare wasn t a real person, but someone who didn t want their

President John F. Kennedy. The assassination of the 35th President of the United States, John
Fitzgerald Kennedy, occurred on November 22, 1963. Kennedy was fatally shot while riding in the
presidential limousine through the streets of Dallas, Texas. The projectile that struck his head
shattered the right side of his skull. During an interview with the Detroit Free Press (2013), a

The 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination was commemorated on November 22, 2013.
President Lyndon B. Johnson created the Warren Commission to investigate the assassination of
John F. Kennedy. The final report presented by the commission claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald
acted alone in killing the president. (Wikipedia, 2013). This report has proven to be highly
controversial among citizens. There have been many theories as to who killed Kennedy, why they
did it, and from what location. There are some theories that are more prominent than others such
as: The CIA, The Mafia, The anti Castro Cubans, a man from the Secret Service, and Lee Harvey
Oswald. There are other theories believing that Lyndon B. Johnson and UFO specialists may have
been involved. Each one of these theories will be explored throughout this paper.
The CIA Involvement Theory
The CIA s involvement in the killing of JFK is one of the popular theories put forward by
conspiracy theorists. President Kennedy was said to have told an official in his administration, I
want to splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds (McGovern, 2013,

Contributors to the Invention of the Digital Computer and...
During the mid twentieth century many inventions were created in America. The 1900s included
important inventions such as the airplane and telephone. Along with this time of innovation and
invention came World War II, a large impetus to create something new. The digital computer was
just one of these many inventions. The digital computerwas invented in around 1940, right within
the World War II time period. George Stibitz was recognized as the father of the invention although
there were many steps leading up to the digital computer. As a few of the many features, the digital
computer s ability to do multiple functions and to have greater programmability put it ahead of its
predecessors. World War II was just another incentive to improve the computer, allowing for faster
operations and more effective cryptanalysis. Digital computers were one of the most important
inventions within its time period due to its impact on history, the many people involved, and its
advancements compared to previous devices.
Before the invention of the digital computer came many predecessors and previous inventions that
impacted the functions of the computer. A basis for the programmability of the computer came
from the invention of binary. Binary is a code in which there are two states 0 and 1 . The 0 state
represents off, while the 1 represents on. These two digits can be used to represent anything in a
compact and readable format for the computer. Charles Babbage is credited with the

The Importance Of The Bill Of Rights
The United States Constitution is one the most critical documents for the United States. The
Constitution entrenched America s national government and crucial laws, and assured specific key
rights for citizens. James Madison wrote the first draft of the Bill of Rights, taking many ideas
from a few sources including Virginia s Declaration of Rights and the English Bill of Rights. It
endured many revisions before it was ratified. Within the Constitution is the Bill of Rights, which
are the first 10 amendments in the Constitution. The original Constitution that was ratified in 1787
did not include a Bill of Rights, it was not until 1791 that was it was ratified. Despite its ongoing
controversy regarding the actual intentions of some religious groups in America, the most important
right in the Bill of Rights is freedom of religion. This right or freedom prevents our government
from forcing citizens to practice one uniform religion, allows for religion to be involved at work,
and encourages diversity within the United States.
Freedom of religion The First Amendment of the Constitution prevents the government from
establishing an official religion of the country. Citizens have the freedom to attend a church,
mosque, temple, or other place of worship they choose. They can also choose to not be involved
in any religion as well. The first amendment is the reason we can practice any religion we d like.

An Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) is a computer assisted instructional system designed using

The Key Issues Brought Up By Plato
The key issue brought up by Plato in his book is what justice is. Plato needed to create a
conclusion to the common conditions and political disaster in Athens, keeping in mind the end goal
to spare his adored Athens from rot and destroy. He found in justice the main solution of saving
Athens from rot and proposed his idea of justice. Conversations between the characters provide

two questions, Platos philosophical ideas in the conversation are moral and political. So to answer
these questions correctly, Socratesand his conversationalists develop a city as an example, the

Communism And Communism In Arthur Miller s The Crucible
According to Mao Zedong , communism is not love. Communism is a hammer used to crush the
enemy ( Communist ). Moreover, Communism is a political theory derived from the renowned
philosopher Karl Marx. He believes that the government should divide the land equally, and pay
people according to their abilities and needs ( Communism). As the Cold War intensified in the
1950s, the hysteria of the perceived threat posed by communist became known as The Red Scare (
Red ). Similar to, in 1953, Arthur Miller an American playwright, scripted the play titled The
Crucible . The McCarthy hearings of the 1950s inspired the notable play. Consequently, after the
hearing, McCarthyism became a vociferous campaign carried out by Senator Joseph... Show more

To refine, Red comes from the prominent color of the Soviet Union flag, while Scare comes from
the simple fact that Americans are fearful that the system of Communism would spread to the
United States. If this was the situation put in the Americans lap, innocents would be accused by
anti Communist because of simple actions that reflected communist views. Surprisingly, The
United States government significantly involved themselves in The Red Scare. In addition, The
most important crusader against communism was the American politician, Senator Joseph
McCarthy. McCarthy sets the ejection of communist as his main priority. Inadequately, he used
intimidating tactics and hearsays to get his information. Inconsistently, McCarthy often had
scarce evidence when he accused people of working for the Soviet Union and partaking in
communist activities. Evidently, he ruined many people s careers and lives before other leaders
in the Congress could end his unjustful ways ( The ). To note the similarity, The Crucible was
an analogy for a contemporary witch hunt in the McCarthy era. Miller s play, The Crucible, was
a comparison between the Salem Witchcraft Trials and The Red Scare, yet the idea was never
directly displayed in his work. To add on, the timeline of the 1680 s and 1690 s witchery
accusations was very similar to those of the 1920 s Red Scare, communist accusations ( The ).

Bullying is detrimental to students well being and development.[1]
Bullying is the use of force or coercion to abuse or intimidate others. The behavior can be
habitual and involve an imbalance of social or physical power. It can include verbal harassment or
threat, physical assault or coercion and may be directed repeatedly towards particular victims,
perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability.[2][3] If bullying is done by a

which might today be described as lethal hazing .[12] The Newgate calendar contains several

How Did Italian Immigrants In The Late 1800s
In the late 18th century, European migrants such as Germans, Polish, and Italians came to
America to start a better life, little did they know that coming to a new country such as America
wouldn t be the easiest. Many Germans, Polish, and Italian immigrants began searching for a
new life in America in the late 1800 s. As easy as they thought is was going to be, many
immigrants had a tenacious time being part of America. They needed to leave the country that
they knew and their loved ones, hoping their lives would improve after arriving in the United
States. German immigrants moved to America because of poverty, conversely being so indigent
that they couldn t provide for themselves. They also came to America to provide for their
families whom they brought along. Polish immigrants came to earn more money then the
earned in Poland. Italian immigrants came to America to escape the wars that were happening
as well as pursuing a better economic opportunity. Immigration to America was a time where
European immigrants wanted to start a new life with their families. By the late 1800 s, many
German Immigrants wanted to start a fresh new life in America. Many came to America because
of poverty and overpopulation. They wanted to come to the land of freedom and opportunity.
German immigrants discovered America through other immigrants that came to America
earlier. Farmers found out through newspapers or handbooks. Many German peasants possessed
some land, which they sold to start their journey of coming into America. Had possessions or
even some land which they could sell to purchase their passage and to finance the start of their
new life in America. There was plenty of fertile land, and it was cheap (Cook 33). This clearly
shows us the Germans wanted a better life where they did not have to work as much in America.
Many skilled craftsman also made their way in America because of the demand of skilled labor.
After finding out about the goodness of America, many Germans came by steamships. These
steamships or Dutch Ships were better at speed and were cheap for immigrants, whereas sailing
vessels took almost 6 weeks to travel. Many German immigrants couldn t afford 1st or 2nd class
tickets so they would come to America

motives behind the rulers, who force their belief on people, remain a mystery. If one looks back in

The codes use alphanumeric characters in all positions, not just the first position as in ICD 9. In
addition, there are 68,000 existing codes in the ICD 10, as opposed to the 13,000 in ICD 9.
Therefore, the codes have been greatly expanded and this expansion allows a significant
increase in the specificity of the reporting in the ICD 10, allowing more information to be
conveyed in a code. For instance if you had a burn on your right arm in did not specify which
arm had the burn in the old ICD 9, now in ICD 10 it specifies which arm has the burn. The
terminology has been modernized and has been made consistent throughout the code set. There are
codes that are a combination of diagnoses and symptoms, so that fewer codes need to be reported
to fully describe a condition. The reason they changed it is because the practice of medicine has
changed considerably in the last 25 years, and the ICD needed to reflect those change. There have
been many new diseases discovered, new type of medical devices and new treatment and the

What we can Learn about Stars using Spectra The stars have always been a source of wonder
because they are so distant. We have been unable to know much about these celestial bodies for
so long; however, with the use of spectra scientists are able to learn more than you would think.
Emission and absorption spectra have been hiding a vast amount of knowledge, astronomers and
physicists are just now learning how to sift through all of the information that the spectra hold. We
have been able to learn about what kinds of elements specific stars are composed of, how distant
the stars are, and the temperature of the stars. The spectra of stars have revolutionized our
knowledge but there were issues in getting the information that we needed. The earths atmosphere
was the biggest issue that was encountered. As light comes through our atmosphere the
wavelengths at the shorter end of the spectrum like blue and violet are more easily scattered than
longer wavelengths like red, orange, and yellow that are more difficult to scatter. This means that
we detect more light that is toward the yellow end of the spectrum rather than the true colors that
were actually emitted. To fix the problem we would have to remove the atmosphere. That was not
an actual option for scientists, so they had to send telescopes up into space. Once scientists were
able to launch the equipment they needed into space they were able to receive the actual spectral
patterns for stars. They gathered data in the form
