Essay On Knowledge Is Power
Crafting an essay on the theme "Knowledge Is Power" is a task that demands a delicate balance
of insight, clarity, and depth. While the topic itself is intriguing, delving into its intricacies can be
challenging. First and foremost, one must navigate the broad scope of what constitutes
knowledge and power, exploring the various dimensions in which these concepts intertwine.
The difficulty arises in articulating a coherent argument that seamlessly connects historical
perspectives, philosophical viewpoints, and contemporary relevance. Tackling the vast reservoir
of human understanding and discerning its transformative impact on individuals and societies
requires meticulous research and careful synthesis of information. Juggling between the historical
evolution of knowledge as a source of power and its modern manifestations in technology,
education, and societal structures adds complexity to the essay.
Moreover, the essay must not only present an analytical exploration but also convey a compelling
narrative that engages the reader. Articulating thoughts with precision while avoiding
oversimplification is another challenge. Striking the right balance between depth and accessibility
is crucial, as the audience should find the essay intellectually stimulating yet comprehensible.
The task further demands an exploration of opposing viewpoints, acknowledging the nuances
and controversies surrounding the relationship between knowledge and power. Crafting a well-
rounded argument requires not only a mastery of the subject matter but also an ability to
critically evaluate diverse perspectives.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the intricate topic of "Knowledge Is Power" involves
navigating a labyrinth of ideas, historical context, and contemporary applications. It requires a
synthesis of information, critical thinking, and effective communication. The challenge lies in
presenting a coherent, well-supported argument that captures the essence of this profound

Matsushita Electronic Industrial
Pham Thach
Executive summary: Matsushita Electronic Industrial (MEI) is a very successful
company in both Japan and the global in the 1970s and 1980s. MEI s success in this
period came from its diversification of productions, dominance domestic market,
unique corporate culture, and divisional structure in both domestic and international
market. However, in 1987, under new circumstances, such as the change Yen prices,
and the pressure of integration of information technologies that need international
transfers, sharing, and synergies, MEI s faced declines in sales and profits because
its structure was exposed some weakness. To overcome these problems, MEI should
choose Worldwide Product Division ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, Matsushita created a small business environment in which all MEI s
divisions could maintain its growth and flexibility. The core of Matsushita s
divisional structure was One product One Division system in which each product line
was managed by a separate autonomous division that was expected to operate as if it
were an independent corporation. Corporate management provided division with
initial fund, and the corporate treasury operated essentially like a commercial bank.
Divisions deposit their excess funds and received normal market interest. Request for
additional corporate funds to meet expansion plans were submitted as loan
applications to the central finance department. This organizational system generate a
high level of internal competition among divisions, and helped drive new product
development that managers saw as their best way to maintain long term growth and
profitability. The need to fund new product development also drove managers to
maximize performance of existing products.
MEI managed the international business by categorizing its overseas branches and
plants into three groups: The A group, the wholly owned single product global
sourcing plants that reported primarily to the relevant product divisions of MEI and
were tightly controlled by them; the B group was the multi product sales and
manufacturing subsidiaries that reported to corporate overseas management (COM);
and the third groups of
Carbon Nation
Carbon Nation is a film on the solutions to the problem of climate change. The
documentary shows the advantages of tackling climate change, including a healthy
and safe environment, an improved economy and enhanced state and energy defense.
The film is meant for those who have over the years lost interest in matters
concerning global warmingand its effects on our world. The movie highlights that
climate changeis an issue to be deeply concerned about, but at the same time, people
have the necessary tools to improve the situation. It has been noted by scientists and
environmentalists all over the world that the problem of climatechange is causing
natural disasters such as hurricanes and tsunamis. If not addressed immediately and
solved, the problem of global warming could catalyze more problems that could

Going green is now supported by celebrities, for example, Al Gore, and this is
creating more awareness. Films such as Carbon Nation are also helping in alleviating
the effects of climate change.
Carbon Nation opens up with what can be done about climate change. It does not
dwell on its causes or its existence. The main topic that has been highlighted in the
movie is the fact that it is a time that we as humans look for alternative renewable
energy sources and stop depleting fossil fuels. Alternatives proposed are such as
wind power or solar panels, all of which are renewable. The movie is especially
informative on what we can do to lessen climate change. It provides hope that there
is still a lot that can be done to save our environment. It is not enough to say that there
are climate change and show audiences images of melting
Marriage In The Miller s Tale
The word Marriage is defined as, The state of being united as spouses in a
consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law (Marrium Webster). Per
the tales of Chaucer, marriage is so much more than that. By pulling back the layers
of some of his tales, I found that Chaucer had several different views on marriage,
what makes it work, and what doesn t. I examined the following tales: The Wife of
Bath , The Clerk s Tale , The Merchant s Tale , The Miller s Tale , and The Franklin
s Tale . I found that according to Chaucer, the qualities that can make or break a
marriage include: control, trust, loyalty, and age or youth. This paper will explain
each tale and aim to show how each role is played out in each of those tales. The
Wife of Bath is a tale about a knight who rapes a girl and is sentenced to death.
However, the Queen wants to spare his life so she offers him a quest. She sends him
hunting for an answer as to what it is that women want most. He goes out on this
quest and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A similar story happens in The Miller s Tale where a woman named Alisoun and
her lover, Nicholas, come up with a story that a great flood is coming and they
must all spend the night in boats hanging from the rafters. She tries to outsmart her
husband so that she can have a night alone with her lover, and once again, it works.
Both stories seem to insinuate that age plays a huge role in the success and
happiness in a marriage. It shows readers that by being younger, both women have
a sort of power over their husbands. As long as they are making their husbands
happy, the husbands turn an eye to the things they ought not to be doing. One article
even says that John, Alisoun s husband, is a cuckold , and goes on to say that, [he]
is blinded in some figurative way; but, in part, it is [his] own limited definition of
women which blinds him (Carroll 78). Being young gives the women the power in

The Pyramids Of Giza Pyramids
When I think of Egypt and hieroglyphics the first thing that has always come
to mind has always been the Great pyramids of Giza. The pyramids of Giza in total
are three,
these are some of the most famous pyramids in the world and some of the most
famous
landmarks of Egypt. Growing up I would always think of one day traveling to egypt
and
climbing to the top. This is why I decided to do my research paper on this work of art
and great
monument of art history. With this paper I was able to research into detail about; The
Great
Pyramids of Giza, which include The Pyramid (Pyramid of Khufu), The Pyramid of
Chephren(Khafre) and The Pyramid of Menkaure.
The first and the largest of the pyramids of giza is known as The Great Pyramid of
Giza
(pyramid of Cheops) made by and for Khufu, The second Egyptian Pharaoh of the
fourth
dynasty. The estimated time it took to build the pyramid was 20 years, in which 2.3
million
limestone blocks were used. It is also know to be the biggest pyramid in egypt. The
main
purpose of this pyramid is known to serve as the pharaoh s tomb, also known as
house of
eternity as described in class. The Great Pyramid is estimated to be 481 feet tall
and each of its sides measured at each base 755 feet an 8 inches. This pyramid was
built so
accurately that the largest error found is no larger than an inch. If weighed this
pyramid is
estimated to weigh six million tons. The great Pyramid has a stone foundation that
rests on a
Social Conflicts Of Drugs And Drugs
Social conflicts and struggles are an inevitable part of any society in any country.
These struggles can include an increased rate in crime, unemployment, domestic
/general violence, and overall civilian depression. When governments cannot seem to
find a means to an end, they often turn and look for something to blame for their
struggles, and that thing is more often than not, drugs. For many years, several
opiates and drugs were primarily used for medicinal purposes, were seen to have an
abundance of health benefits and was widely accepted among communities.
Although, with the increasing social conflicts and economic conditions, authorities
turned to and targeted many different forms of once accepted drugs, and made them
the scapegoat for the problems they were facing.
America in the early 1900 s, the use of marijuana within the immigrant Mexican
community was used as a scapegoat for the increasing unemployment rate, with
politicians stating that the use of marijuana causes extreme violence, crime and
radical behavior. This myth was widely spread around the United states, ultimately
giving marijuana the infamous term killer weed .
In Dublin, Ireland, the excessive use of heroin became the scapegoat for many arising
problems such as public health issues, unemployment, violence, deaths, run down
housing and other crimes, ultimately labeling heroin as the reason for all the
countries issues.
The main focus of this essay will be to examine the reasons behind the laws that
Immigration In The Dominican Republic
Immigration is a major dispute in any country and each country is unique in how
they choose to deal with them. It United States it was a key factor in the recent
election. However, the States accurately document people who are born and citizens
in the country, where it seems the Dominican is deficient. Their immigrant problem
is unique because most of the citizens share the same race and language, and
everyone who doesn t is known as a recluse. The Dominican Republics court ruling
left thousands of proud Dominicans nationless, and without a country to call home.
The courts need to apprehend that eliminating immigrants (that were already legal)
will not get any of their problems elucidated, if America tried something like that a

The Importance Of Deaf Education
Whether someone responds to a person knocking on a door, a car honking down
the street, or speakers blasting loud music, our hearing plays a significant role in
providing us with vital information. Hence, hearing is an important sense, and the
significance of hearing often goes underappreciated until it is no longer available
(Saint Joseph s University, 2017). In spite of that, research proves that children
who experience hearing loss must have opportunities to enjoy a quality of life that
does not remind them of their disabilities, but experience a quality of life that
makes necessary modifications to augment their abilities. It is fair to state that
Deaf education evolved over a course of centuries, with Pedro Ponce de Leon
making history as a pioneer teacher for students who were deaf. As a 16th century
Spanish monk, Ponce de Leon received recognition for revolutionizing the
education of children by creating one of the original manual alphabets (Saint Joseph
s University, 2017) for speaking and fingerspelling. Concurrently, Geronimo
Cardano joined the movement for Deaf education in 1550 by disclosing that hearing
loss should not deny people opportunities to learn (Saint Joseph s University, 2017).
With significant gains from Ponce de Leon s innovative system for communication,
along with Cardano s experience as a father of a son who had a hearing disability,
both individuals established themselves as credible sources proving that children are
capable of learning by
Feudalism And The Middle Ages
Feudalism In The Middle Ages
When people conjure images of the Middle Ages, people think of chaos, war, and
little improvement. In fact, much of this is true. During the Middle Ages, a system
called the Feudal System was formed to maintain order. It might have made life
tough for peasants, but it kept nobles, or upper class people, rich and in power. The
Feudal System greatly affected daily life for everyone, but, in time, it collapsed.
The constant chaos of the Middle Ages caused the Feudal System to be invented.
During this time period, kingdoms in modern day western Europe were under
constant threat from invading nations. Most kingdoms had been too large to have
just a single figure of power, so Feudalism developed. Feudalism came mostly due
to a single king s inability to protect his land by himself (King 26). Another reason
was that before the fall of the Roman Empire, an established and powerful entity,
the leaders of kingdoms had strong bonds with their people. When the Roman
Empire fell, there was no single strong power other than the Pope, and the ties
between the leaders and the people broke (Pei). Without these ties, people and their
Lords weren t as friendly as before. With no strong power in place, defenses were
needed. This is how the Feudal classes came to be, as knights swore to support their
lord militarily and their lord swore to protect them (Pei). Because of the constant
need for defenses, classes formed: kings, to rule; lords, to control villages;

development of pCD. Isolated small bowel disease conferred a protective effect on
the development of pCD (OR 0.38 [0.28 0.52]; p 0.001) whereas colonic involvement
was significantly associated with pCD (OR 1.35[1.04 1.75]; p = 0.03). To further
clarify the association between pCD and colonic and small bowel disease, we
identified patients with any colonic or any small bowel disease and observed the
same pattern of a protective effect with any small bowel disease (OR 0.74 [0.57

inflammation showed a strong association with pCD (Table. 3) with a higher OR for
pCD the more distal the site of disease involvement.
Patients with non stricturing and non penetrating behavior were less likely to
develop pCD (OR 0.69 [0.56 0.85]; p = 0.001); whereas stricturing disease
behavior was associated with pCD (OR 1.44[1.14 1.81]; p = 0.002). We did not find
an association between internal penetrating disease and pCD (Table 3). There was a
statistically significant association between pCD and dermatologic manifestations of
CD, namely pyoderma gangrenosum and erythema nodosum (OR 2.03 [1.33 3.09]; P=
The Negative Effects Of NSA Phone Tappinging
What is privacy? Is it the ability to be in a situation which allows you to do things
without other people seeing you or disturbing you? If it is, then it is always being
violated by new and upcoming technologies. One of many technologies that are
challenging privacy is NSA Phone tapping. NSA Phone tapping is a program that
allows a personto monitor whom a person calls and when a person calls. This
program started in 1952 but required a warrant to spy on Americans. After the
attacks on the twin towers The white house asked the NSA what they could do to
protect American while still being legal. The White house allowed the NSA to
track Americans calling a person from Afghanistan. The NSA believed they were
authorized to track domestic phone calls and emails, eventually the attorney
general decided the program was legal. Only recently when Edward Snowden
exposed the NSA of their wicked doings there has been an unrest among
Americans. N and advancing technologies such as NSA phone tapping has certainly
negatively affected privacy in this era because it causes the citizen s moral to be
low, it can be obtained by bad people and it s ineffective. NSA cell phone tapping has
many negative effects that are endangering the privacy of others and meanwhile
lowers the morale of the people. For instance, cell phone tapping is causing an
unhappy community because they are being relinquished of their privacy. Another
reason is, If other people have this power it could cause many problems such as stolen
information and it breaks technical systems, as the very protocols of the Internet
become untrusted(Gale, Opposing Viewpoints). For instance, millions of people saw
their computers shut down by ransomware with demands for payments in digital
currency to have their access restored. Therefore the NSA doesn t trust the people
that they work with because they could work for the enemy causing a massive cut in
employees. Some of the ex employees hack into the program for revenge(New York
Times). Lastly, The NSA has failed to pass constitutional muster and has been
violating the Fourth Amendment by collecting information from millions of ordinary
Americans without a warrant. For instance, the fourth amendment states The right of

The United States Army National Guard
The United States Army National Guard is currently faced with the significant task
of helping its troops stay alive not only on the battlefield but also at home. Since
2011, the Army National Guard has buried 614 troops who died by their own hand.
These men and women have come from every state and territory across the Unites
States with the exception of the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. States
such as Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Minnesota have suffered the most loss
with each state losing 29 people to suicide. These deaths are not on the battle fields of
Afghanistan or Iraq. In fact, the combat deaths during the exact same time frame for
Army National Guard troops only adds up to 447. The situation has... Show more

Specifically, training is foundational to everything in the Army and helps to shape a
young teenage boy or girl into a tank mechanic, administrative specialist, infantry
officer, or any number of military occupational specialties (MOS). Some jobs
require the additional support of civilian training and this is true in the special staff
branches such as the Judge Advocate Generals corps, Medical corps, and Chaplains
corps. Army Chaplains in particular are required to obtain at least seventy two
seminary hours and a Master s degree in order to become a commissioned military
officer. During their seminary time, future chaplains are trained in sermon
preparations, church administration, and administering the ordinances of their faith
group. However, they are rarely trained in addressing one of the most critical topics
currently facing today s military personnel. Specifically, this would be training in
counseling troops who are experiencing suicidal ideations. Another possible place for
members of the Army chaplain corps to receive training in addressing a potential
suicidal person would be during their initial military instruction time at the United
States Army Chaplain Center and School (USACHCS) which is located in Fort
Jackson, South Carolina. Currently, USACHCS does not have training for this on
their course curriculum for either the Chaplain Basic Officer Leaders Course

The Influence Of Spanish French And English Colonization
The world as we know it could not exist without the influence of Spanish, French,
and English colonization. Each of great European Colonies share some similarities
with one another but all varied greatly in structure, dominance, and influence. This
essay will break down many of the aspects that made up each colony which will lead
to a better understanding of what American Colonial life was like.
The Spanish, French, and English all established rather successful colonies in the
Americas but the locations of these colonies varied by founding country. The Spanish
crown sponsored conquests gained riches for Spain and helped expand its empire.
Originally claiming the Bahamas and most of South America the Spanish Empire
eventually claimed most of the southern and southwestern regions of the North
America, as well as sections of the California coast. The French were likely as
ambitious but found it difficult to compare to the vast dominance of the Spanish in
the Americas. Their first colonies were trading posts in Newfoundland and eastern
Canada. But French posts were established in the St. Lawrence valley, part of
Canada, and the Mississippi River area. Their empire eventually reigned from very
northeast Canada all the way south to Louisiana. For the English most colonies were
established by royal charter. Their earliest settlements were in Virginia and
Massachusetts. However, they eventually spread all along the Atlantic coast, from
Maine to Georgia, and as far West as the
Juvenile Rehabilitation
The United States has been sentences more juveniles to unsafe and violent prisons
over the years. Juveniles are being sentenced as young as ten year old. Juveniles are
being tried as adults in courts and something must change, and it needs to change
fast. The younger generation is supposed to be our future leaders. A juvenile being
tried as an adult is a harsh sentence. Over 5,000 juveniles are being tried and
sentence to prison every year. The United Statesneed to step in and change the way
how the youth is being treated in the criminal justicesystem. There is no question that
someone who committed a crimethey are going to get some sort of sentence. When an

Society plays a big role in a child s development and the way they are going to be
raised. One of the biggest solutions that can help is rehabilitation. This can help can
help them and give them a positive transformation. Many see education is the key to
youth rehabilitation. The youth involved in the juvenile justice system has a history
of poor academic education. In rehabilitation, the youth has a right to receive
education, such as getting caught up with their school work. Juveniles need a strong
education programs, so they are inspired to finish their studies and pursue careers in
the future. Another solution for juvenile justice is detention centers. A judge can
send a juvenile to a detention facility. Detention facility are temporary housing for the
youth who committed crimes. Detention sentences are usually short term instead of
long term. It is a wakeup call for juveniles and won t commit that crime again. Home
confinement is another solution than sending them to prison. The juvenile can only
leave their house for school, community service, or counseling. Meaning contacts can
have an impact on the juvenile. Family treatment, such as interventions, with the
youth can strengthen the family bond of the child and decrease any criminal activity

Multiculturalism In Music Essay
Visualize in your head a rock band, and a rapper. What kind of clothes are they
wearing. What lyric styles are they singing in? And what color are they? Ongoing
stereotypes suggest that the rock band is a group of white musicians and the rapper
would be black. However, examples from the past and present shows that these
stereotypes are untrue. Music is defined as The art of organizing tones to produce a
coherent sequence of sounds to elicit an aesthetic responsein a listener (Morris, 864).
This country s youth is unlike any others, we have much control over what we do,
and music is something that evolves around all of us. In this essay, I will discuss the
evolution of youth music ranging from early rock, to today s hip hop stars, from...

It gave them a feeling of freedom and joy that had been lacking from previous
music styles. Although rock became an instant hit with the youth, the music
caused displeasure in the adult world. Rock was criticized for juvenile delinquency
to loosened sexual standards (R amp;RG, 27). The most notorious example of what
adults didn t like in rock music can be found in Elvis Presley. Elvis was the first
white performer to expose an audience to rock music. However, the free will style
Elvis exhibited was not a real big hit with the adults, where he was condemned as a
whirling dervish of sex.
Rock music then went on a tear, evolving into many different styles and forms. As
rock matured and diversified, many new artists and distinct styles emerged. Such
examples are blues, featured by B.B. King and Ruth Brown. Harmonious styles such
as The Orioles, the energetic swing sounds of Little Richard, the role model rock
star Pat Boone, and the folk rock of the Everly Brothers. Rock usually evolved to
what was happening in the world during that time period, such as war, politics,
current events, and lifestyles. Another aspect that evolved rock music was
technology. As more and more technology was developed, more integrated sounds
were brought into rock, eventually resulting into such music as pop and disco. Music
was now able to have artificial beats that traditional instruments could not produce.

Southern Culture In The 1930 s
In the 1930 s there was a lot of racial tensions and expectations for southern culture.
Things are different now than they were back then like the culture, but especially
gender roles in the south. Southern culture in the 1930 s had very specific customs
on everyday life. The article Life In The Plantation South . Said that most
southerners didn t experience much weath. The fortunate few were call the tidewater
aristocrats. They were the fortunate few who lived in stately plantation manors with
hundreds of servants and slaves. Besides the lucky few, the rest lived off of little and

article Jim Crow Laws Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site One law that
seems fine today wasn t back then, you couldn t marry someone with a different race,
just because of the color on their skin and if you do so the marriage will be voided
and illegal. Some of the laws were so silly and outrageous rules like African American
amature baseball players had to be within two blocks away from each other. That
law was so outrageous because all they want to do is have fun and do what they
love but they have to remember to be be two blocks away from them. Manners is
very important to the south, you would always say yes sir or mam. African
American people especially had to speak a certain way which was called Jim Crow
Etiquette. For example they had to call white males Boss or Master. Which was
extremely unfair because they were called rude names like Boy and old man
instead of being called something that means you re the boss or your master or
you have a higher stature. It was the same for woman too they didn t have a good
name like miss or Mrs they were called auntie or girl. You can definitely tell a
difference how white or african american people were treated and talked

Columbine Analysis
The tragic story of Columbine by Dave Cullen analysis the bitter events that were
caused by Eric Klebold and Dylan Harris. Although tough to read, the description
and imagery within the book about the intense news reports, the role both boys
played, and the somber realization of a inspirational marter story furthers the reader
s understanding of the truth. Cullen wrote with the purpose to develop each
character while going in depth to tell the truth and dispel any rumors that were
connected to the tragic 1999 massacre. Truth lied deep in the multiple news stories
that were spread across the nation in a matter of minutes. As the world became
aware of the tragedies at Columbine many ideas were widely spread, but not all of
them were true, Cullen showed the readers the truth of what happened. Distressed
students and faculty call the news to report the situation, in such a terrifying
experience their judgement and memory is clouded by fear, many people thought
that they were telling the truth but in fact it was only the truth that lies in their head.
One hour into the columbine horror, news stations were informing the public that
toe or more gunmen were behind it. Two hours in, The Trench Coat Mafia was to
blame. (Cullen 150). New was reported on what was thought to be true at the time,
but as they spoke too soon, the information that was spread across the nation proved
to be false. As Cullen analyzed thousands of papers, taped and videos he was able to
understand where
Mackey Arena Game Analysis
Walking into Mackey Arena is like walking into a basketball shrine, filled with
history. That history is built upon the rivalry between Purdue and the school down
south, Indiana University. On February 28, I was fortunate enough to be in
Mackey Arena for this historical rivalry game and senior night, a game that meant
Purdue could take the Big Ten Title in a win. Purdue did just that, winning 86 to
75. I was very pleased with the game and it exceeded all expectations I had for the
huge rivalry. As a student who has been to every home game this season, I joined
the lottery system prior to the game so that I could get a closer seat than those who
did not do the lottery. The lottery began the night prior to the game where students
camped out outside Mackey s atrium. I asked Sam Kolczak, a student at Purdue
who camped out for the IU game and the Villanova game back on November 14,
2016, what he thought about the student involvement for games at Purdue. Kolczak
said, I love camping out for these games. The people that do it are really cool and I

Purdue this season has had a better season than they have had in the past, finishing at
the top of the Big Ten conference. This conference dominance can be linked to
Caleb Biggie Swanigan making his return for his sophomore year. The year before,
IU had won the conference and Purdue suffered on the road against them. I asked
Kyle Graham, a senior at Purdue University and also a part of the large senior group
who goes to every game, how he felt about his last Purdue IU game as a student.
Graham said, It was actually amazing to see them win and do so in such great
fashion. When I was a freshman, Purdue had finished last in the Big Ten conference.
So, it was almost bitter sweet, I guess, seeing them beat IU for my last home game,
win the Big Ten title, and winning more games than they ever had while I was

The theme of the cellist of Sarajevo is the psyche. Every character goes through a
mental change due to the war that they witness. It will change them as a person

It shows how much tragedy and hardship can affect the human mind. It also shows

Beauty Is Subjective

views about everything. Nothing in this world is perfect and it shows through mans
disagreement about everything. They all have their own definiton of beauty. I find it
is good to have your own opinion about things. Then you can hear other opinions and
still have your own.
Beauty could be defined as an outward apperience.According to William

The For Your Child s Winter Essay
You can t miss the nip in the air, and as the year draws to an end, the mercury is
going to dip even further. This also means it s time to pull out all those colourful
woollies that have been languishing in the cupboard, and maybe buy some new
ones to stay in sync with the season s trends. Gone are the days when the over sized
woolens came in monotonous and boring winter shades. Now, you can splurge on
colours and watch your child radiate the brightness. Red is big for girls and boys,
and the metallics that lit up the runways in the fall are also gracing kids winter lines.
When choosing woolens for your child, practicality is of utmost importance. But don
t overlook the fashion angle. Kids, these days, are extremely conscious about what
they wear. Here are a few winter must haves for your child.
1. Just jackets
Your child s winter wardrobe would be incomplete without a warm and colourful
jacket. Depending on where you are stationed, you can opt for a quilt lined jacket, a
football jacket, a classic denim one or the contemporary ones that look more like
coats. Cotton, Light and medium poly fill jackets are in fashion these days, with
sweat jackets ruling the fashion scene. Jackets, not only provide ample warmth, but
when zipped right up, take care of the entire upper torso without you having to
worry much. Little girls can add a few frills and flowers to their jackets without
thinking twice. And if it s not too cold, they can even go for chic shrugs.

evolution
Of mobile technology starts from 1G, and now we are using 4G in our daily life. Let
s have a
Brief discussion on the topic: (Faisal, march, 2010)
2First Generation (1G) This technology was first used in July, 1978 and the mobiles
of that age are used for only
Voice transformation and one way voice transformation. It uses 25 MHz bandwidth
frequency
Allocated from one station to the cell phone and 25 MHz bandwidth frequency
allocated for cell phone to the station. The 1G technology uses frequency division
media access (FDMA) through which the users have to wait for the other user s
reply. (Faisal, march, 2010)
3Second Generation (2G) Because of the remarkable popularity of these cell phones
the technology changes its
Trends and change the way of communication by introducing a new technology called
second generation (2G). It was firstly used in 1991 and in this technology the new
communication way
Was introduced which solve the problem of multiple users on the network and fully
encrypted
Digital way was introduced instead of analogue way. (Faisal, march, 2010)
4Third Generation (3G): Because of the much demand by the people it was felt that
there must be some better communication then 1G or 2G. The third generation is
also one of the finest ways of communication even now a day. 3G uses 2.5 GHz band

Steps in Selecting a Sample Size
An appropriate sample size is based on a number of accuracy factors that you must
consider. Together they comprise a five step process:
1. Determine Goals
2. Determine desired Precision of results
3. Determine Confidence level
4. Estimate the degree of Variability
5. Estimate the Response Rate
Step One: Determine Goals
First, know the size of the population with which you re dealing. If your population
is small (200 people or less), it may be preferable to do a census of everyone in the
population, rather than a sample. For a marginally higher cost than a 134 person
sample, you can survey the entire population and gain a 0% sampling error. However,
if the population from which you want to gather information is larger, it makes sense
to do a sample.
Second, decide the methods and design of the sample you re going to draw and the
specific attributes or concepts you re trying to measure.
Third, know
Biomes In North America Essay
North America is home to a wide variety of different biomes, ranging from
blistering desert to frozen tundra. This range in climate provides inhabitants of
North America with not only options of where to live, but also pride in where they
come from and how they were raised. Different states or provinces are known for
their weather patterns and their ensuing biomes. Although there has been a lot of talk
recently about how humans are shaping their environment, today we hope to show
you how the environment we live in has played a pivotal role in shaping who we are
and how we live.
Biomes in North America are contained within the land of the United States, Canada,
Mexico, and countries in Central America. This large area has a broad range of
temperature and precipitation which results in nine separate biomes ranging from
tropical rainforest, deciduous forest, boreal forest, tundra, temperate forest,
grasslands, deserts, and chaparral woodlands. A biome is a specific area of the
world that can be classified into a group according to the plants and animals that live
in it. What ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bottom half of the United States is mostly filled with desert, while the top half is
filled with both coniferous and deciduous forests and prairie biomes, and the upper
portion of North America (enveloping most of Canada) is filled with largely arctic
tundra. Such a large continent means that North America is home to many different
biomes, and although I try to describe North American biomes based on their
significance, the truth is that within each state and/or province, you will find many
different biomes. For example in the state of Washington, you have both kinds of
forests, the alpine and subalpine biomes, wetlands, sand dunes, grasslands, and even
desert. This variety is consistent across most provinces and states, and is partially
responsible for the proud nature of North American inhabitants, in relation to their

controversy around the United States. These marches and protests however, lead to
violent acts. He also delivered the I Have a Dream Speech and changed the world

Why Is African Wild Dog Endangered
The African Wild Dog, or Lycaon pictus is currently under the endangered status, and
poses as a huge concern for conservationist groups. The species has become
endangered due to human development, habitat fragmentation, and disease such as
canine distemper, which has caused a drastic reduction in population size to less than
6000 individuals remaining in the wild. This loss of this species, which is currently
only found in several southern countries of Africa, serves as a large threat to the
functioning of it s ecosystem. Lycaon pictus serves the role of keeping several
species population sizes in check via predation, but also serves as the source of food
for several other species. One conservation plan that has been proposed is the

While many rights were now theirs, one common, significant change was that slave

Because of the active participation of the federal government, laws were passed so
that former slaves could enjoy the benefits of the freedom just awarded to them. In
South Carolina, blacks demanded access to all the opportunities and privileges
enjoyed by whites (14). Black delegations in North Carolina, Alabama, Virginia and

churches were built. All of the rights enjoyed by all other Americans were finally

Survival In Auschwitz Essay
Imagine now a man who is deprived of everyone he loves, and at the same time of
his house, his habits, his clothes, in short, of everything he possesses: he will be a
hollow man, reduced to suffering and needs, forgetful of dignity and restraint, for he
who loses all often easily loses himself. This short quote is taken from Primo Levi s
Survival in Auschwitz . It depicts a true storyof Primo Levi during the Holocaust,
who was relocated to an extermination camp after beginning a great life after college.
Primo was captured with a resistant group from Italy. He used his college education

After the liberation of Auschwitz, Primo again had nothing. Necessities and goods
were furnished throughout his life and now Primo had to start all over. He had
nothing except for life, something most people who walked through the front gates of
Auschwitz lost.
Jesus Christ lived a similar life many, many years before. He lived his young
adulthood life teaching the people of the world about God and humanity. He
cherished his life and the life of others. He respected all living things and tried to
help them live a non sinful life. He too was deprived of things near the end of his
life. Like Primo, Jesus was convicted of what he thought and spoke of and was
killed. The main difference between the two men is that Jesus lost his life. Jesus
though had a second chance as he was later resurrected from hell and brought into
heaven. There he again helped the people of the world.
Furthermore, both of these men were convicted of religious believes and ripped
away of their lives. Even though Primo died many years after his stay at
Auschwitz, he was never the same before that. He will be a man whose life and
death can be lightly decided with no sense of human affinity, in the most fortunate of
cases, on the basis of a pure judgment of utility. It is in the way that one can
understand the double sense of the term, extermination camp, and it is now clear

Leadership Comparisons Of Steve Rogers And Tony Stark
Leadership skills are an essential element to the development of an effective leader.
Some leaders have natural abilities while others develop those skills through
experience. Whether skills are learned or instinctual, great leadership is the ability to
translate values and beliefs instilling motivation in the people around you. This
essay serves to compare two persons with contrasting leadership styles and analyze
their leadership abilities. Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are two characters from the
recent movie adaptations of Marvel s Captain America and Iron Man. I chose these
movies because as Avengers, a later movie in the series, they both serve as leaders;
however, their different backgrounds, values, and beliefs ultimately lead to conflict in
later installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

their pursuit of Orestes. The appearance of ghosts is nothing new, as it has been
done before in Homer s poems. What this shows, however, is that Aeschylus, likely
a representative of Athenians during his time, had the same view that Homer did. In
their eyes, not only do Gods and Goddesses walk among men, but even ghosts,
something that should be considered on the opposite side of the spectrum, also
appear in our world, as real as any men can be.
The second scene of The Eumenides begins with Orestes arrival at the Acropolis, as
he takes a suppliant posture at the feet of the statue of Athene (Aeschylus, 143).
Athene is said to have entered in full armor (Aeschylus, 148), answering Orestes call
for justice, just as the Furies have caught up with him. What follows is a full blown
trial similar to those of the present days. At one point, Athene re enters [the scene],
guiding twelve citizens chosen as jurors and attended by a herald (Aeschylus, 154).
The trial then proceeds with
Good Will Hunting and Bell Hooks Keeping Close to Home
Essay
Going off to college is probably one of the best things a person can do to further their
education. The promise of a degree from a university seems achievable but is
shadowed with the many challenges that come with a higher edification. Often many
college students find themselves bothered by these obstacles which can determine
whether the college student succeeds or not. There are many endeavors in college but
it depends on how the student reacts to these situations.
This synthesis will examine the motion picture Good Will Hunting and an essay by
an author Bell Hooks entitled Keeping Close to Home: Class and Education. Both of
these accounts tell of a struggle that the protagonist character in the story had ... Show

Throughout these sessions the promise of a higher education or success is
shadowed by the aggression that Will Hunting has to over come. Very defensive and
isolated Will Hunting is befriended very slowly by Sean McGuire to open up his
emotional problem and to let them go. Will Hunting s inability to trust, love and
communicate handicaps him to do well in life with careers and relationships.
In the essay entitled Keeping Close to Home: Class and Education, the author Bell
Hooks tells of her struggles when she goes off to the prestigious college Stanford
University at the age of 18. Coming from a working low class economic background
hooks deals with ridicule from her family and the difficulties of adjusting from a
lower class to a higher class setting at Stanford. The dilemma that Hooks face with
her family is; she states, My parents had not been delighted that I had been
accepted and adamantly opposed my going so far from home (p. 161). Reason for
this adamant feeling was that Hooks was brought up during a period when women
didn t really leave the house to go to school. It was unheard of to leave a small town
in the south and go to a big college out in the west. Especially if Hooks was going to
be by her self her parents did not like the idea that she would be far away from

Food Allergies In Schools
How far should we go to protect children with food allergies in school? On the
surface, that question elicits an immediate positive response of As far as it takes .
However upon further examination the issue is far more complicated than one child
or even a group of children being protected. In the case of foodallergies the protection
of those children have far reaching ramifications throughout the schoolsystem and
country. Almost all of the protections put into place by school systems and food
allergy activists leave a large burden on families not directly affected by food
allergies. A few years back my son returned from school with a notice stating he was
no longer allowed to bring peanut based products to school because another child...

I first went with an article published back in 2009 which argues that most schools
at the time were over reacting to peanut allergies. The article titled Have Americans
Gone Nuts Over Nut Allergies? by Tiffany Sharples in Time magazine uses three
extreme cases where schools over reacted to peanut allergies. One case the article
discusses is that of a San Francisco school where the school nurse forced children to
scrub their hand prior to entering the school and then confiscated packed lunches
to remove any peanut based products. Another example was that of a Connecticut
town that cut down three nut bearing trees because the grandmother of one student
complained it posed a threat to her grandson who had a sever nut allergy. The
author s final example is a Massachusetts school bus that was evacuated because a
stray peanut was found on the floor of the bus. These are excellent examples of
how schools have over reacted to peanut allergies over the years. The author also
uses two doctors to evaluate whether reactions like the ones described were over
reactions. Both doctors did agree the instances were extreme but felt the public at
large responds more reasonably. One doctor in the article suggest that reactions like
these are caused by social spread of anxiety and over diagnosis. The author also

The Internationalization Of International Marketing
International marketing is an area in which exact work by professionals is regularly
more advanced and perceptive than academic contributions (Wind, 1979). For the
expansion of international marketing, firms require both general learning and market
specific learning. Market specific knowledge is picked up principally through
involvement in the business sector, while learning of the operations can be
exchanged starting with one nation then onto the next (Andersen, 1993). For
experiential knowledge of the market, an immediate connection between business
sector information and business sector commitment is proposed and HR can be
considered as a measurement of knowledge (Andersen, 1993). Consequently, the

MacDougall (1957) stated that, the competitive force of modern nations is upgraded
when they make new products or production processes. An items business position is
known to change after some time as is its profitability and the product life cycle is a
theory to perceive particular phases of the sales history of an item (Lancaster
Wesenlund, 1984).
Lastly, the objective of this essay is to show the theoretical development in
internationalization for firms and the selection of their foreign country markets they
choose to expand their business ventures.
Discussion
Theoretical Development
Firms venture into international markets to widen their market share and many new
firms that venture into international markets prefer a country that is similar to the
firms home nation.
The Uppsala model depiction of foreign expansion could in reality be seen as
concentrating basically on the internationalization ways of mature firms that are
sufficiently experienced to travel to another country, whereas the observational
evidence suggests that such experience may now and again be lacking, and that
numerous new pursuits are actually connected with early internationalization, i.e.
resulting from brand name creation or research development activities, which have
been built up before (Osiyevskyy, Verbeke Zargarzadeh, 2014).

The History and Formation of Labor Unions in the Unites...
I regard my workpeople just as I regard my machinery...When my machines get old
and useless, I reject them and get new, and these people are part of my machinery
(Sands 12). A foreman at a textile mill in Fall River, Massachusetts spoke these words
in possibly the worst time during American labor history, the Industrial Revolution.
During the Industrial Revolution, large numbers of people in the United States
flocked to work in factories where they faced long hours, unsanitary and unsafe
conditions and poor wages. Labor unions, or groups of organized workers, formed
in the United States to ensure workers the right to a safe workplace and a fair wage
in the face of capitalistic factory owners seeking wealth. In exchange, union... Show

Eventually, this want of free labor caused the slave traders to come to the United
States in droves (Clark 12). This desire for cheap or free labor was not limited to
farm and plantation owners. The factory system in the United States began to
grow before the American Revolution with shops that made wares to order (Clark
14). In the mid seventeen hundreds, farmers and plantation owners would give raw
materials like cotton or wool to other families to turn into things like thread and
yarn for a share of the profits. This was called the domestic system (Sands 4). With
this, private capitalism, or the idea that you get to keep what you earn, developed
and reinforced the want of cheap labor. Since most people immigrated to the
United States to work on farms and cultivate land, not many people worked in
shops as skilled laborers, although there was a great need for them (Dubofsky 3).
Some villages were so desperate for blacksmiths and carpenters that they bribed
these workers to come and work there. Curiously enough, many skilled laborers
wanted to leave their positions because they wanted to become farm owners on the
seemingly endless free or cheap land in the new country, but they were not allowed
to leave their positions (Clark 13). Through all of this, the small shops were
developing. From the beginning of the colonies, skilled craftsmen took on
journeymen and apprentices to work for them to learn the
The Benefits and Challenges of Agile Methodology
Agile methodology is a software development lifecycle which designed to produce
faster development and high quality results compared with the traditional lifecycle.
The Agile method focuses on incremental and iterative development where
requirements, specifications, design, implementation, and testing continue
throughout the project lifecycle (Nanthaamornphong, Morris, Rouson Michelsen,
2013). Agile software developmentmethods enable software developer to be more
flexible and responsive to the changing environments and customer demands.
However, Agile adoption comes with special challenges and fundamental
organizational changes are necessary for successful outcome.
From our chosen case study, not all organizations are successfully adopting Agile
methods and techniques in software development. For example, there are around 250
employees in Information Technology, Telecommunication and System Development
division at the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E). The government entity which had used
traditional waterfall approach for many years and decided to adopt Agile development
method SCRUM. Government entity had hired a Agile expert as their consultant, the
consultant analyzes current waterfall model project, conduct meetings with
management and development teams, provide training introduction to Agile
development of SCRUM for 30 department employees from different levels and roles.
At the SCRUM phase, the team had encountered unexpected challenges which had

Bleeding Kansas Essay
Bleeding Kansas
The Compromise of 1850 brought relative calm to the nation. Though most blacks
and abolitionists strongly opposed the Compromise, the majority of Americans
embraced it, believing that it offered a final, workable solution to the slavery
question. Most importantly, it saved the Union from the terrible split that many had
feared. People were all too ready to leave the slavery controversy behind them and
move on. But the feeling of relief that spread throughout the country would prove to
be the calm before the storm.
On December 14, 1853, Augustus C. Dodge of Iowa introduced a bill in the Senate.
The bill proposed organizing the Nebraska territory, which also included an area that
would become the state of Kansas. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He therefore bowed to Southern wishes and proposed a bill for organizing
Nebraska Kansas which stated that the slavery question would be decided by
popular sovereignty. He assumed that settlers there would never choose slavery, but
did not anticipate the vehemence of the Northern response. This bill, if made into
law, would repeal the Missouri Compromise of 1820, which said that slavery could
not extend above the 36 30 line. It would open the North to slavery. Northerners were
outraged; Southerners were overjoyed.
Douglas was stubborn. Ignoring the anger of his own party, he got President Pierce
s approval and pushed his bill through both houses of Congress. The bill became law
on May 30, 1854.
Nebraska was so far north that its future as a free state was never in question. But
Kansas was next to the slave state of Missouri. In an era that would come to be
known as Bleeding Kansas, the territory would become a battleground over the
slavery question.
The reaction from the North was immediate. Eli Thayer organized the New England
Emigrant Aid Company, which sent settlers to Kansas to secure it as a free territory.
By the summer of 1855, approximately 1,200 New Englanders had made the journey
to the new territory, armed to fight for freedom. The abolitionist minister Henry Ward
Beecher furnished settlers with Sharps rifles, which came to be known as Beecher s
Bibles.

Business For the Glory of God Essay
Introduction Business for the Glory of God persuades one to view business in a
different light. There are many views, both positive and negative, one could take
on business. If one could see business as a way to help others, it may be achievable
for them to see business as a way to glorify God. For example, some may do
business to assist their families. If left with an excess they might even consider
charity.
Wayne Grudem establishes the theme by enacting a scenario where someone talking
to a new acquaintance explains what type of business they work in. The abnormal
response they received was, what a great way to glorify God! (Grudem, 2003). It is
not very often that business is associated with bringing glory to the Lord. ... Show

Ownership
The first item that Grudem addresses is ownership. Ownership is the ideal place to
start, in that ownership is the foundation of all business. Business for the Glory of
God begins by explaining that occasionally people view ownership of property as a
type of avarice, something which is morally tainted. Some, mistakenly, even go as far
as believing that in a perfect world one would not own personal possessions (Grudem,
2003). The rebuttal presented by Grudem is Biblically grounded in the Ten
Commandments; You shall not steal (New International Version, Exodus 20:25).
If ownership in and of itself was a sin, then the Bible would address ownership, not
theft. When discussing ownership, John Sullivan defines ownership as essentially
who is in charge and who has to be consulted before making any major change.
Moreover, Sullivan states that ownership is an imperative component for institutions.
Certainly without ownership there would be an absence of stability, which is crucial
to any organization, secular or faith based (Sullivan, 2005). The argument presented
by Grudem was enough to persuade this author.
The question arises: if the owner is to be the ultimate authority in regards to their
possession, then as a business attempting to bring glory to God, is the owner really
the boss? Grudem answered this by means of Psalm 24:1, the earth is the LORD s,
and everything in it, the

Include geological ages where possible. (Once again remember to record reliable
sources on page 14 in appropriate format.)
The Undara lava tubes were formed 190,000 years ago in the Cainozoic period due
to large volcanic activity. In this time, Mount Undara had a volcanic eruption that
spewed molten lava onto the surrounding landscape. The lava reached 90km North
and 160km north west of the volcano. An estimated 23.3 km3 of lava flowed from
the volcano at a rate of about 1000 m3 every second. (Nprsr.qld.gov.au, 2015) The
lava that exited the volcano reached extreme temperatures of 1200В°C, therefore
destroying anything that got in it s way. The lava tubes were then formed as the
top outer layer cooled and formed a crust while the molten lava below drained
outwards leaving behind a series of hollow tubes. (Austhrutime.com, 2015) Caves
however, have formed due to weaker lava tubes collapsing and creating depressions.
The craters seen in Undara have formed from chunks of molten rock imploding the
surface of the Earth due to explosions from the Mt Undara volcano. Some of the
animals that were on the earth at this time included the sabre tooth tiger, cave bears,
woolly mammoths and woolly rhinoceros. At this time, plants had a time to flourish
since the extinction of the dinosaurs. Nearly every plant living today had its roots in
the Cainozoic Era. (LiveScience.com, 2015) The same type of plants that are present
around the lava tubes today would

bacteria present in the small intestine. Bacterial overgrowth can happen when the
normal function of the intestine is compromised, and this can happen from a multitude
The Ancient Roman Civilization
The Ancient Roman civilization was a remarkable society noted in history, it was
led by countless great leaders that sustained the great civilization for ages. The
Romans encountered many wars and battles, they didn t win all of their battles;
however, they ve learned through their failures to improve upon the progress of
their society. In 264 BC to 146 BC the Romans were involved in a prolonged war
with the Carthaginians, known as the Punic War. (Chris Scarre, 24 25) The word
Punic comes from the Latin derivation of the word Punicus which translates to
Carthaginian , referring to the Carthaginian s Phoenician ancestors. (Keith
Sidwell, 16) The Punic war was broken into 3 parts: The first Punic war (264 241
B.C.), the second Punic war (218 201 B.C.), and the third Punic war (149 146
B.C.) Wars around this era wasn t based on ideals, it was strictly for territory. The
Romans fought for control over the lands all throughout Europe, North Africa, and
parts of Middle East. Around this time the Carthaginians were the biggest threat to
the Romans. It wasn t only because they had land, but also the competitions of trade
/economic stand point. This was the final spark for the Romans to part take in the
destruction of Cartage Civilization at the end of the third Punic war. The Romans
managed to win the wars of the Punic war. One would suspect that the Ancient
Roman Civilization would prosper from the victories from wars. However, in reality
the Punic war deemed to be more costly to
Gogol s Name In The Namesake

The Positive Effects Of Technology
Not too long ago, most work was done through sturdy physical and mental
capabilities. Humans as mostly progressive beings continue to evolve, constantly
feeling the urge to rise to the apex versions of themselves. However, will humans
rise only to fall? Well there are both sides to everything and the possibility of
technologybringing society to its knees has sparked a lot of controversies and this
essay.......( Naf, if the argument is about positive effect of tech, what should the thesis
be?)
Does technologies like smartphones, computers and the internet really affect students
in a negative or positive way in the educational arena? The magnitude of this question
might seem easy to answer, however, the debate about the effect of technology on the
lives of students and technology users has been an ongoing debate for years. Though
the use of technology comes with some negative effect like students being distracted,
humans should embrace and advocate for the use and advancement of technology in
schools since the positive effect of technology outweighs the negative. Technologies
not only help spread information around but it makes the day to day lives of students
easy. Technology with no doubt, is one of the greatest invention ever created. During
the nomadic era and the establishment of civilization, humans invented tools to make
life easier. The discovery of fire and the invention of early tools like spears during the
Stone Age were many of the technologies humankind used

Wolverines are found most commonly in Alaska and northern parts of Canada, with
few found along the mountainous regions on the Pacific Coast. Originally wolverines

Initially, Katniss does not care about the Capitol much, but once she begins The

trouble ahead for the protagonist. Haymitch another character from The Hunger
