Speech On Perseverance
Perseverance; The Key to Greatness Whether it reveals itself in time of distress, or moments of
hardships, hidden beneath the grime and gloom of the catacombs within our illustrious brains, lies
an, almost mythical power that moves mountains and carves canyons. This compulsion is the
lifeblood that fuels the impossible and empowers the ordinary. This power is not a work of God or a
mutation of fictional proportions, gifted to only superheroes and metahumans, but a tiny instinct that
lies in all of us. This spirit within us that shines in our brains at our darkest hour, is known as
perseverance. It is through this, that the human body can bend, endure and withstand the feral and
wild furies of their coming infernos. It is through perseverance that the pistons of accomplishment
pump and the wheels of success churn with a ferocious roar. Literature, films and society buzzes
and swarms with figures such as these. A marvelous example of this includes Sue from The Last
Leaf by O. Henry. Unlike the latter of other literary personas, Sue not only needs to balance her
promising artistic career with her personal life, but she must endure through the agonizing talks of
death, from her withering friend, Johnsy. However, literary pieces, although profuse in perseverance,
are nothing compared to our wondrous society. A real world example of such valor and
pertinaciousness include Benjamin Mee, the inspiration behind the 2011 film, We Bought a Zoo,
who withstanded through the devastating

Perseverance Essay
What is perseverance? Perseverance is the ability to go on when things seem hopeless. It is also a
measure of success, or at least how much sacrifice one is willing to make in the name of success.
As students, it is impossible to achieve personal success without having a goal, or direction. The
goal and direction that often propels us to achieve is perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to
forge ahead despite setbacks that threaten to undermine all efforts to succeed.
We are high school students and that means that the sense of urgency to strive for and to achieve
personal success is now. With this urgency comes the expectation of having to persevere. This year
has not been as easy one for us as a school body. We have been...show more content...
There is no shame in falling; the shame is in accepting the the fall as defeat. Nelson Mandella once
said, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall." That is
the essence of persevering––finding the will to get up even though you know you are being counted
out.
Each day is a challenge for some of us. Some of you struggle to get up each morning and make it
to school. But you find it within yourself to do because the hope of a better tomorrow compels
you to do so. It is not easy to explain to teachers or other students that there was no one to wake
you up and see that you were ready for school. The moment you leave your house and step on the
bus, you are one step closer to realizing your dream, to fulfilling your purpose. That is what
perseverance is. It is the finding the strength to do the impossible because you know that all
things are possible. It is understanding that your tomorrow has great possibilities because of the
steps you take today. I had a neighbor whose parents were divorced, but it seems like both parents
divorced her. Her mother had custody, but she was seldom around. My friend raised herself. She
gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "putting yourself through school", but she was in middle
school. However, she had a dream of something better and it was evident that it required
self–motivation and determination.
We have all been called upon

Perseverance, purpose, and passion. These three words are core in shaping me to be the person I
am today. Perseverance is an imbibed trait that follows my parents' characters. My parents have
worked and sacrificed countless hours to provide me an education that paved way to several
opportunities that they were unable to attain when they were in my age. I am so honored and
privileged to have received so much blessings from the people who mean the most to me. The
words "thank you" are insufficient to repay their unending support and tireless love for me. Another
blessing would be God's bestowment of talents on me. In this, I found my purpose and that is to
bring honor to God and to my parents by using their given gifts to be the...show more content...
Football was both a mental and physical challenge, but what has truly driven me to strap on the
green and black helmet everyday was my utmost respect towards my loyal teammates and to the
legacy of the football program built at Skutt Catholic. Every fall season, I was blessed to do what
I loved doing most as part of my everyday routine. This was because after an extensive and lively
football practice, I was able to participate in another activity which is band. Having a hectic
schedule trained me to set my priorities straight to maintain my honor roll grades and to always
act accordingly. Being involved in both activities opened my eyes on what my true motivations
were for the activities I was passionate about. I take great pleasure in the time and ability I am
given to serve others. Service comes in various forms and I strongly believe that no act is too
small to be of big help to others. Serving others is vital in my life because I am enlightened to
pause on my own worries in order to care and act for groups, causes, and people who are in need.
My advocacy to help is best exemplified in regular voluntary work at the Brookestone Meadows
retirement home. At Brookestone, I took concern for the elderly by spending time with them. I am
strongly motivated to volunteer for the elderly because I consider it as making an impact in today's
world by returning the care to those who cared for the succeeding generations' future.

Romans 5:1–5 says 1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ: 2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in
hope of the glory of God.
3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience
(produces perseverance); and patience, experience (character); and experience, hope: 5And hope
maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which
is given unto us.

What Is Perseverance?
At the expert level, sprinters start the race by expecting a hunkering position in the beginning
pieces before inclining forward and step by step moving into an upright position as the race
advances and energy is picked up. Competitors stay in the same path on the running track all
through all sprinting occasions, with the sole special case of the 400 m inside. Races up to 100 m
are generally engaged upon increasing speed to a competitor's most extreme rate. All sprints past
this separation progressively fuse a component of perseverance. Human physiology manages that a
runner's close top velocity can't be kept up for over thirty seconds or so on the grounds that lactic
corrosive develops once leg muscles start to endure oxygen hardship. Top
