I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I

you can see flowers of pink and red growing within the grass. There were spots of

were many different shades of blue in the lake and river. The lake had a darker shade
of light blue surrounded by a dark blue then lined with black. The lake appeared to
have a light shining either on top or the bottom of it, which allowed you to see the
grass growing under it. The river had a lighter shade of light blue with white lines
to show the ripples but it was surrounded with the same colors as the lake. You did
not see any grass growing under the river because there was no light shining on the
river.
When I saw the painting for the first time it grabbed my attention. At first I thought
it was the beautiful colors that attracted me to the painting, but it was more. In the
picture the shadowy men look scared. They looked as though they were trying to
run away from something and this lake that forms into this river that is surrounded
by tall grass is the way out, or at least a place to hide until the coast is clear. During

Basically because of that teacher in my childhood I had given up on studying. But
later in life I was diagnosed with dyslexia. I then realised that I wasn t thick or
stupid. I realised that I am capable of studying, but it doesn t stop the feelings of
self doubt and the lack of confidence. I often use humour to my daily life to

The Red Candle In Amy Tan s The Joy Luck Club
The great battle of books vs movies is never ending. A book provides insight of the
characters feelings while a movie needs to evoke emotions in a shorter time frame.
The Joy Luck Club, written by Amy Tan, was adapted into a film in 1993. Unlike
the Harry Potter series Amy Tan cowrote the screenplay, meaning she had the
ultimate decision of what makes it in the movie. Comparing both was quite
interesting knowing that Amy Tan could ve kept The Red Candle story and kept a
clean view of the aunts in the story. The book The Joy Luck Clubwas a novel of
intertwined stories of four women and their daughters. Reading each story was like
finding a puzzle piece that lead to fully understand the characters. One of the

symbol of marriage in China and the marriage was considered complete if the candle

The four women supported each other and they became a family of their own. When
Suyuan Woo passed away the remaining three; Lindo, Ying Yang and An Mei sent
letters to find the twins Suyuan abandoned in China to inform them of the
information. Once the twins were found they paid for a trip to China for June Woo
to visit her sisters. In contrast the movie made the group of women seem a bit
manipulative. When they found the twins instead of informing them of their mother
s death, they pretended that their mother was coming to visit rather than June.
Leaving June to explaining that their mother died years ago right after getting off
the ship. The change made June s trip to China more dramatic than it was in the

Panic is an American group who began their stardom in 2004. However life wasn t
all drinking white wine in the blushing light for the group, they had a fair share of
bad days. From every song, to every tour, Panic has been through a lot. Panic! at the
Disco has sold millions of copies, but why did they become so famous?
Panic! at the Disco began their successful career well over 10 years ago, all the way

third studio album, The Ballad Of Mona Lisa , and their first song without Ross and

album named Vices Virtues was officially released, thus returning the exclamation in

Racism has always been an issue in America not just only towards Mexicans or
African Americans, but to Native Americans as well. Throughout history, Native
Americans were treated as if they were inanimate objects that they are beneath us,
and even till this day many of them are still being treated that way. The Native
Americans have always been misunderstood what some Americans see is redskins
and not a genuine person no matter the raceor where they came from. No one else
knows more about being a Native American in a world of racism rather than
Sherman Alexie himself who has dealt with these issue s before. He argues not
only his struggles, but also the struggles of other Native Americans a taste of what
its like to be in their shoes what they go through almost every day of their life s.
Sherman Alexie is a well known Native American poet, novelist, performer, and
filmmaker. According to Poetry Foundation, he is mostly famous for his poems
and short stories about the reservation life of a Native American, among them The
Business of Fancy Dancing (1992), The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in
Heaven (1993), which won a PEN/Hemingway Award, and Smoke Signals (1998),
a movie based on Alexie s short stories and even acted in his own work (Poetry
Foundation). He also held the World Heavyweight Poetry title for four years. Even
