ABSTRACT The authors examined the policies and factors that have in the past and at the present
precipitated student unrest in Nigerian university campuses. Predictions about the policies that are
likely to produce student protest in Nigerian university campuses in the near future are advanced.

Similarly, Ajuluchukwu 1962 (as cited in Onwuejeogwu, 1991) note that from the inception, the
National Union of Nigerian Students (NUNS) embarked upon deliberate campaigns of fostering
national consciousness and inspiring a strong sense of militancy in the Nigerian people s liberation
struggle (Aluede, 1995; Babatope, 1974). Babatope (1974) and Onwuejeogwu (1991) note that the
students union was born and nurtured in the womb of colonial protest. Hence student unionism was
more of a protest union rather than student union, which was aimed at far reaching changes in the
society. One incident of student unrest in 1960 was essentially due to students dissatisfaction with
government insensitivity to national issues, and its inability to address them appropriately.
Nigerian students aware of the British government s intention to establish a military base in
Nigeria and by so doing perpetuate a neo colonial state, decided to stage a protest against the

Homer Hickam s October Sky
Everyone is told at a very young age that they can be whatever they want to be. But is this really
true? In our day and age, with technology advancing daily, many young people find that it isn t as
easy to follow one s dreams as is portrayed in fairy tales. October Sky is like these books, as it
shows boys following their dreams by creating homemade rockets. But what makes this seemingly
unrealistic book stand out from the rest is its ability to inspire. This book intrigues the reader and
draws them in as it shows the characters as they learn. As a true story, the author Homer Hickam
writes about himself as the main character in the story of his life. He writes about his group of
friends as they come together and decide to create rockets.

The Levels Of Government In The United States
The government affects Americans in several ways that many fail to realize. One could not walk
down the street without seeing the government s effect on our everyday lives. The questions we
may have though are what are the levels of government? What is federalism? How does the
government affect individuals every day? Do we need government? Do Americans appreciate the
importance of our government? These are all questions that will be answered for we as individuals
must understand how this government works before we can make a difference in bettering this
country. The spheres (Levels) of government include National, State (Provincial), and Local. It is
these three spheres of government that affect our day to day life. The national government provides
the states with protection, enough power to maintain foreign policy, and the ability to collect taxes.
The state government as stated in the federalist papers State Governments, will have the advantage
with regard to the predilection and support of the people. (Hamilton, Jay, Madison 259), for the
states have those powers of not expressed to the federal government in the constitution. Local
government is the administration of a town, district, or county within a state that provides citizens
of that area with representatives to uphold the laws of those living in the area. Federalism can be
defined as, ...a system of government in which entities such as states or provinces share power with
a national government. The United

The Dilemmas Of Desire In The Franklin s Tale
Genesis ValdezENG 4120 4 December 2017 The Dilemmas of Desire In Chaucer s Franklin Tale
the plot revolves around a married couple: the knight, Arviragus, his young wife, Dorigen, and a
young squire, Aurelius who importunes and attempts to Dorigen. The characters can be said to
oscillate between desire and their ego honor which affects what they say and do. Lacan s
definition of desire tells us that we desire for recognition from this Other. Our desire is to
become what the other person lacks. Duby s model of courtly love is a concept that focuses on
chivalry, nobility and women being at the center. In this paper, I will examine what the story
reveals about the relation each character has to his or her desire, how they act in accordance to
their desire and the role magic or illusion plays in the plot and how it affect characters relation to
desire. In The Franklin s Tale, Dorigen marries Arviragus and he promises to be true to her and
never take an authoritarian role over her. Dorigen promises that in return she will be his humble
true wife and will give him his sovereignty. Arviragus gives Dorigen power in the relationship
and has dominion. Arviragus demonstrates courtly love because he serves her in a way that
allows freedom. The Franklin s Tale states, In such lordship as men have over their wives; and in
order that they might lead their lives together the more blissfully, of his free will he swore to her
as a knight that never in all his life, by day or

Write An Essay On Mummification Of Mummies
Did you know that there are many ways to mummify something, and sometimes thing mummify
themselves. Many people believe that mummies are only in egypt but mummified humans and
animals have been found all over the world. Places like egypt have been mummifying the dead
for many years, Egyptologists once thought that the practice of formally mummifying the dead
began about 4,500 years ago during the reign of Khufu, who built the largest of the pyramids at
Giza. The process of mummification would take 70 days to complete. In some places they would
take out the organs and sometimes chop of the heads, of the dead. Although, they would leave the
heart; this was a spiritual type ordeal. Because it was considered the soul, after the removal of

Happy, The Truth Of Happiness
In the documentary Freakonomics, the basic theme follows the idea of breaking beyond the
system, and what the system says that you are going to be. With a different documentary called
Happy, happiness is explained by the way happiness is achieved; it says that happiness is based
around love and a positive attitude. Together, the documentaries Happy and Freakonomics examine
and prove the statement that your destiny is determined by you and what you perceive life. In the
documentaryHappy, the truth of happinessis shown through the love of others. Along with that
Freakonomics goes into depth the truth that who you think you are determined to be, and who you
could be. The two documentaries amplify and improve around this idea that, breaking out of the
norms of life, we can become extraordinary people.
To truly have a life of purpose, according to the documentary Happy you need to be happy with
what you have. In the beginning of the documentary Happy people were in the documentary,
were asked what they wanted to get out of life, and most of them said to be happy or to achieve
the American dream, to be happy . In Happy, the focus revolves around the basic idea of
happiness and that we need to achieve this awareness of true happiness is to do what we love:
...the things we love to do are the building blocks of a happy life. Play, having new experiences,
friends and family, doing things that are meaningful, and appreciating what we have; these are the
things that make us happy,

Understand The Effect Of Solar Plasma On Earth s...
2nd P: To understand the effects of solar plasma on Earth s magnetosphere, one must look at the
creation of plasma in the early days of the sun. The sun s creation is similar to the process in the
explosion of a hydrogen bomb, only with the energy created equaling the force of 10 billion
hydrogen bombs per second. When the sunwas originally forming, hydrogen gas in the middle was
crushed from weight above. Eventually, the pressures and temperatures reached such an intense
point to where the hydrogen atoms broke apart into electrons and photons, thus, creating plasma.
Photons from the explosion of electrons and protons are made so fast and so many at a time that it
creates the observed power of the sun. This reaches us as sunlight. Even though the process of the
energy created is relatively quick, the process in which the photons travel to Earthhappens over a
long time within the Sun s layers. The energy of sunlight that shines down on us today is over

The overall movement and rotation of the sun effect the magnetic fields in the sun. This
movement churns up plasma in the convection zone*, which in turn stirs up electrical currents,
and finally creates a magnetic field. Within these magnetic fields exists field lines, the main
component of the solar flares. Loops in the magnetic field lines rise with energy from the
surface. On one end of the loop exists a positive while the other end is negative. Plasma
underneath stirs the poles and pumps numerous amounts of energy into them. However, if the
poles are twisted enough the loops cross which creates a short circuit resulting in a tremendous
outward explosion. The result is a solar flare. Within these solar flares, nets of plasma are flung
into space and can be described as coronal mass ejections (solar storms). These CMEs flung into
the solar system are what can wreak havoc on the

Wisdom Of Humility In Antigone
Humility is the antibiotic to almost every disease, yet throughout this semester I have witnessed
many literary characters fall before they are cured. In East Coker, T.S. Eliot wrote, The only
wisdom we hope to acquire/Is the wisdom of humility, humility is endless. I believe that many
characters realized the benefits of humility, but some were in too deep to take advantage. Creon,
Victor and Ivan come from different time periods, different languages, even different worlds but
they all learned the powerful lesson of humility through their suffering and pain. Creon, the
antagonist of Sophocles s play Antigoneis a great example of a man who learns humility after
causing mass destruction all around him. In the play, Creon is the King of Thebes and he is solely
interested in political and social order. The previous King and Creon s brother, Oedipusdied and his
sons Eteocles and Polynices were suppose to rotate the throne. However, the brothers ended up
killing each other in a duel which led to Creo taking power. Creon angered his niece Antigone
when he allowed her brother Eteocles to be given proper funeral honors, but not her brother
Polynices. To make things more complicated, Haemon, Creon s son is in love and intends on
marrying Antigone. Going against Creon s law, Antigone gives her brother Polyneices a proper
burial and is caught. Creon condemns her to death despite the outcries of the chorus and his son.
He begins to have remorse and says that she may be freed, but

How To Write An Essay About The Holocaust
The Holocaust
Everyone looks at the Holocaust as just a time in history to be remembered. That was exactly my
perspective, until actually looking into this topic. After reading these many articles, ID cards, and
oral histories, my view was instantly switched; almost too much. As most people don t like to think
about the past and bad things that have happened, I think everyone needs to take a few minutes just
to understand the holocaust. The people of the Jewish community during this time had it hard.
They were attacked for no reason and were treated like dirt when they are the same as anyone else.
Imagine being abused just for your ethnicity, or anything else you don t have control over. Nazi

Self Regulated Learning
Self Regulated Learning
Learning is what most adults will do for a living in the 21st century. (Alfred Perlman). As he said,
there is no doubt that learning is a very important skill especially in modern society because of the
knowledge explosion and rapid developing of information technology. However, there are different
results with different learning methods. Good learning method can lead to success easier, on the
contrary, poor learning method means wasting time and energy. Therefor, self regulated learning is
presented by numerous eminent scholars as a excellent learning method. Self regulated learning is
not a mental ability or an academic performance skill; rather it is the self directive process by
which learners ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And many researches have proved that learning strategies can help students be more successful. Pei
Shi. W(2012) has found that most successful students use learning strategies more frequently and
effectively than unsuccessful students. We can explain the research in this way. A learning strategy
is a student s approach to learning and using information. However students who do not know or
use good learning strategies often learn passively and ultimately fail at study. Learning strategies
are used by students to help them understand information and solve problems. Successful students
are good much good at using it, meanwhile, learning strategy can make the students be more active
and effective, because the students know how to learn and how to use what they have learned to
solve problems, and lead them to success.
At last, motivation is another important component of self regulated learning to help students be
more successful in their academic endeavors. Motivation in common is defined as an internal
process that activates, guides, and maintains behavior over time. In other words motivation gets you
going, keeps you going, and determines where you re trying to go (Slavin 2000). Particular in self
regulated learning, motivation is the sprint to encourage students to drive their academic goals
toward the finish line directly, the sprint is initiative and voluntary. Motivation can help students

Kant s Categorical Imperative For The Practice Of Modern...
Hamza Rafique
15 June 2014
Should Kant s categorical imperative be supported in the practice of modern medicine?
Introduction
Immanuel Kant saw the importance of autonomy long before the field of medicine was as
advanced as it is now through the second formulation of his categorical imperative: Act in such a
way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never
merely as a means to an end, but always at the same time as an end . Kant recognises that it is
autonomy that allows for self actualisation and the manifestation of one s identity through having
the capacity to make self governed choices. Therefore autonomy factor that gives humans the duty
to treat each other as ends and to violate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kant provides us with these ethical guidelines however there are cases in medicine which illustrate
that a physician s expertise allows him to see that following a patient s autonomous decision may
lead to further suffering causing the health professional to take a paternalistic course of action.
This ethical problem has lead me to investigate whether medical practice should uphold Kant s
categorical imperative, and if not where should we search for a way forward? I intend to analyse
Kant s ethics to see where its strengths and weaknesses lie when applied to the medical field
before exploring other ethical theories in an attempt to find the most suitable means of decision
making in medicine. I will use case studies to illustrate the point that Kant s ethics, although perfect
for an ideal world, does not work in the medical field, nor does a utilitarian approach. This leads us
toward an intuitionist stance in order to keep the benefits of the categorical imperative offers us
while maintaining applicability to medicine.
How could the categorical imperative work in medicine?
The categorical imperative does have strength in its principled and high minded nature that can be
condensed down into the following three formulations:
Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a
universal law without contradiction.
Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in

Two Interrogation Cases Watched in Class
Assignment #3
Joshua L. Tuttle The first interrogation we watched in class was that of a 20 year old named
Joshua Tuttle. Mr. Tuttle was being charged with attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a
minor. He was messaging and supposed to be meeting up with a girl named Jesse who he
thought was 13 or 14. Joshua was the focus of a sting operation and has been featured on the
television program To Catch a Predator . When we picked up on the interrogation, Joshua was
sitting across the table from the interrogator. Joshua s chair was pushed up against the wall and
in the corner of the room. This is good because it is supposed to make him uncomfortable. The
table that sat between Joshua and the interrogator was cluttered with papers. This is not good
because this gives the suspect something to look at besides the interrogator, which in turn can
change the suspect s body language and or answers. During the interrogation Joshua was very
emotionless and slouched in his chair. He had glassed was wearing a black t shirt with a gold

the easy questions, like what his name is or where he lived, but as the questions became related to
his arrest he became more silent. He seemed to be disorganized and didn t answer all the questions
and paused quite a bit, but seemed to be telling the truth for the most part. For example, he was not

Situational Irony In O. Henry s Ransom Of Red Chief
In Ransom of Red Chief there are two kidnappers Sam and Bill planning on kidnapping Dorsett s
son. One day they go and kidnapped the kid. Once they get the kid to the cave he starts asking a
lot of questions. Then the kid attempts to scalp Bill. They get really desperate, and they want to
get rid of him because they are tired of him. So they send a ransom letter to Dorset. Then he
sends a counter profit saying how he would want his son return to get him off their hands.
Finally, Sam and Bill had to pay Dorset for them to return his son, and they ran into the valley. In
Ransom of Red Chief O. Henry uses situational irony to create humor in his short story. It is very
entertaining to see the things that happen throughout the story because the reader does not expect
those things to happen. As a result of O. Henry using situational irony, it develops the theme
crime doesn t pay. In order for the reader to understand the theme, they need to understand
situational irony and how it affects the story. Throughout the story, there are moments when
there are humorous events. In the beginning part of the story, Sam and Bill kidnap and the boy
thinks it is fun. Yes, sir, that boy seemed to be having the time of his life. The fun of camping out
in a cave had made him forget that he was a captive himself (Henry, 2). The reader would expect
someone who is kidnapped to be scared and would not be having the time of their life. I don t have
any fun at home. I hate to go to school. I

King Henry V Character Analysis Essay
The mercy that was quick in us but late/ By your own counsel is suppressed and killed. / You
must not dare, for shame, to talk of mercy, (2.2.85 87). In Shakespeare s Henry V, King Henry V,
uses multiple personas towards certain people to gain the French throne. He justifies his right to
the French throne by his descent from French royalty through the female line. Henry is still
being seen as his young self and uses role play to prove that he is worthy of the French throne.
Henry s role playing is for the purpose of gaining the French throne. Henry manipulates his
soldiers and opponents for his selfish want of the throne. Henry uses different personas while
giving speeches and physically disguising himself to gain the French throne. Henry, in
preparation of the battle at Harfleur, portrays a friendly persona to rally his troops. Henry goes

offer, because he wants the throne and is dedicated to get it. At Harfleur, Henry encourages his
troops by saying, Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more, / Or close the wall up

continue the battle and try their hardest to fight for England and win. Henry concludes his
speech saying, Follow your spirit, and upon this charge/ Cry God for Harry, England, and Saint

The sixth sense directed by M. Night Shymalan tells a story of a boy who is able to see dead

Athena Flaws
Arachne SD Athena In one instant you ruined my life. Maybe people will look back on our story
and pity me, Arachne, a prideful and arrogant girl who you so graciously spared. But no one will
truly understand the misery you inflicted, dreams you shattered, and the curse you bestowed. No
one will see you the way I do. Don t mistake me, I acknowledge my flaws. I can see now that I was
conceited and foolish, but I was young and eager to prove myself.
As I grew up, weaving was all I knew. Born the daughter of Idmon of Colophon a famous purple
dyer, I knew from a young age that I would one day weave the most gorgeous pictures that would
be admired by all. Desire filled my heart to create something that would catch even your attention
and respect, the goddess of wisdom and skill, known for her talents in weaving. So for years I
toiled over my loom for hours at a time, until one day, I was satisfied. In these years my skill
grew at unimaginable rates, my pride and ignorance was never far behind. People everywhere
began praising my work. When asked if you taught me, I eagerly claimed I never needed your
help. I now see these statements were the beginning of my downfall, for even if my skill didn t

contest! It was then to both my excitement and horror, I watched this seemingly insignificant old
woman transform into a tall, golden haired goddess looking down on me. I looked up and met

Sidney Love Sonnet
Valuing Power During the Elizabethan Era, the English thrived in the ways of culture. Literature,
poetry, theater, and music all saw tremendous advancement. Love sonnets became particularly
popular due to the opportunity they offered their authors to express their most alluring desires,
while sticking to the strict guidelines of a sonnet. One particular 16th century writer, Sir Philip
Sidney, wrote lovesonnets that followed the relationship of the desire ridden Astrophil and the
object of his affection, Stella. Poetryat this time often had political or religious influences, and
Sidney s work was no exception. Focusing specifically on Sonnet 69, Sidney metaphorically relates
a personal experience to a political gain, suggesting that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was constant speculation over whether or not a woman was fit to rule, so a man no doubt
would have stolen not only her power, but the people s respect as well. In order to understand
the political agenda present in the sonnet, one must notice the power Elizabeth I would have lost
with a marriage, versus the power that Astrophil figuratively gained through obtaining Stella s
love. In order for suitors to gain power from either woman, the women had to have had power
for them to acquire. Similar to Queen Elizabeth, Stella is portrayed as a woman of power and
appears to be highly sought after. Her love was an indescribably, wonderful prize to the speaker,
just as Queen Elizabeth s hand in marriage would have been quite an accomplishment for any
nobleman. Words such as nobler , kings , covenants , and monarchs are all present in the poem, not
only alluding to the political agenda present in the work, but possibly Stella s societal position.
Elizabeth I was showered with ravishing gifts and compliments routinely by her courtiers. These
men of her court sought to woo and impress the unattainable queen. This need to grasp the queen s
attention also pertains to the relationship between writing love sonnets and court politics as a whole
under Queen Elizabeth. The frustration that follows loving someone and that love not being
reciprocated was a vital aspect of much of the love poetry at the time. This popular

Activated Roal
What is a trend and what makes a trend a trend? What causes people to partake in trends?
A trend is a large, measurable shift that influences our value and behavior. A trend is triggered
when a force asserts itself on a culture, forcing that culture to respond and change. Trends stick
with people and usually makes a big difference in the life of people who are caught in the trend.
There are many types of trends, such as clothing trends, technology trends, electronic trends,
beauty trends, etc.. When asking ourselves why do people partake in trends we realize how easy
this question can be answered. Advertisements and the feeling of fitting in influence every single
one of us to take part in a trend. We may not realize we are in a trend because they can be so
simple, but we are. Wearing sweaters, jeans, and Uggs is a fall/winter trend and many people are
caught in the trend without realizing they are because it s such a simple outfit you don t think
much of it. A popular trend that has a lot of people trying new things is the activated charcoal
trend. Activated charcoal is being used for both health and beauty. The use of activated charcoal

contributing factors to low teacher turnover, however, the main issue is a lack of support and

A Short Note On The Giant Tower Builder
Nimrod the Giant Tower Builder When we think of typology in the Old testament, we think of
types of Christ. The sacrifice of the Passover lamb is a classic example. Passages in the New
Testament (see 1 Cor. 5:7; John 1:29; 1 Peter 1:19) verify typology as a legitimate form of
biblical interpretation. But what about passages in the Old Testament that seem to clearly
indicate a Christ type that are not officially sanctioned by the New Testament writers? There are
many types of Christ not specifically mentioned in the New Testament that are clearly types of
Christ. Joseph is a classic example. Any internet search of Joseph/typology will give plenteous
prolepses of Christ. The question arises then, what of Antichrist types? Judas, Antiochus
Epiphanes, Nimrod and King Herod and are some of many examples. In the book of Esther, we
have the reckless and violent Haman, a type of Antichrist in direct conflict and bitter envy
against Mordecai, a type of Christ. In this chapter, the focus is on Nimrod. He is: A.) One of the
clearer examples of Antichrist typology and B.) Clearly a type of Trump as well. In Genesis
chapter 10, it says that Nimrod became a mighty one as well as a mighty hunter before the Lord.
The ancient rabbis tell us that this statement means that Nimrod went out from the presence of the
Lord, in the sense that he turned his back upon God and His truth, and became a hunter of souls .

Apollo 13 Essay example
Apollo 13
Apollo 13 launched on April 11, 1970 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The
crewmembers aboard the ship were James A. Lovell Jr., John L. Swigert Jr., and Fred W. Haise,
Jr. Before the launch, there had been a few problems. Thomas K. Mattingly was supposed to fly on
the Apollo 13 but he was exposed to the measles. He didn t have the antibodies to fight the disease,
causing him to not be able to go into space. Swigert took his place. Right before the launch, one of
the technicians saw that the helium tank had a higher pressure than expected. Nothing was done to
fix this. During liftoff, the second stage engine shut down, causing the other engines to run longer
than planned. Apollo 13 was off to a rocky start.

Because of the explosion, the parts weren t used as had been planned. The Service Module (SM)
was supposed to provide the crew with oxygen, water and power before the mission. When the
oxygen exploded, it led to the loss of some of those necessities and the Service Module was
nonfunctional. The Command Module (CM) also provided the crew with power and oxygen. It
was also prepared with couches and served as a control center. When the explosion took place,
they had to shut off the Command Module to allow enough power for reentry. The Lunar Module
(LM) was supposed to provide the crew with living quarters when landed on the moon. However, on
this mission, the crew could not land on the moon. The Lunar Module then acted as a lifeboat. It
allowed the astronauts to preserve the Command Module supplies needed for reentry.
The ground controllers had some major problems to solve. They had to write and test new
procedures to send up to the crew for a safe arrival home. A new navigation problem had to be
solved to provide the crew with a speedy return. Water was also a main concern. The crew was
estimated to run out of water in about five hours. But tests on previous Apollo missions found that
the ship could run without water for about seven hours. The astronauts began to conserve water by
cutting the amount they drank to six ounces each day. The crew began to get dehydrated and they

Kashmir Conflict Between Hindus And Muslims
Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of South Asia. It borders Pakistan and India in
the Himalayan Mountains. This landscape is known for its raw natural beauty and has stood out
in the history and folklore of the Indian subcontinent. At one point in time, Kashmir was aptly
named paradise on Earth . Kashmir excels at diversity. People from all over the world many
different religious backgrounds and even more diverse dialects frequent the land. Today however,
the Kashmir region is the center a multidimensional problem, with religious hostilities taking
center stage. Disputes over land seem to be a catalyst for almost every hostility and war since the
dawn of time. The addition of politics and religion into the matter only serves to aggravate an
already tense situation. Kashmir knows this all too well. The conflict between Hindus and
Muslims seems to be an ever reoccurring battle. This is also evidenced in population battles.
Hindus make up the social majority of the population of Indiaby almost eighty percent. Feelings of
tension and uneasiness are a natural reaction to being dominated by a majority and are a problem
unto itself. In order to proceed, there needs to be a baseline of understanding in regards to Hinduism
and Islam. Hinduism is a religion, or a way of life, found most notably in India and Nepal.
Hinduism has been called the oldest religion in the world, and some practitioners and scholars refer

Rebecca Nurse Quotes
Let you fear nothing! Another judgement waits us all! This profound exclamation is made by
the immensely wise and reputable Rebecca Nurse. Rebecca is a well known elderly woman in
Salem, Massachusetts. Rebecca Nurse and I closely resemble one another in that we are both
exceptionally nurturing with children, devout in our beliefs, and humble towards our
accomplishments. Firstly, Rebecca Nurse and I are similar because of our nurturing capabilities
towards infants and children. In the play The Crucible, it is revealed that Rebecca is the mother

and gave birth to eleven healthy babies reveals that she is well suited for motherhood. The fact that

Analysis Of The Movie Stand And Deliver
This paper will be explaining the different types of leadership skill that I notice in the movie Stand

students to pass the advance placement test in calculus. He motivates the students with everything
that he could think of. The students received such a high test score that the testing center though
they had cheated. The first leadershiptheory Jamie Escalante demonstrates is Leader Member
Exchange theory. Jamie is waking the hall, looking for his classroom. Jamie enters the
classroom, he sees the students standing and talking, he sees girls sitting in boys lap. Jamie tells
the student to take a seat. They act like they don t hear him talking. Jamie tell them again to take
a seat, one girl makes a comment asking if the class can talk about sex. Jamie comment, what
one female student mentions could cost me my job. The students stop talking and start looking
at Jamie and wondering what he is talking about. The second leadership theory Jamie shows is
Situational Approach, when Angel and Finger Man come late to class. Jamie has Finger Man to
take the seat in the front of the class and Angel to stand in the back. Jamie asks Finger Man if he
brought his tools to class. Finger Man tells Jamie that he uses his head. Jamie then tells him that

Innovative Entrepreneurship Importance
Entrepreneurship is an essential part of economic development, and it has been so especially since
the industrial revolution. Development is achieved for example through innovation, which the
Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD, 2005) defines as the
implementation of a new or significantly improved product (good or service), or process, a new
marketing method or a new organisational method in business practices, workplace organisation or
external relations . Innovative performance is an essential part when determining competitiveness
and progress on a societal level. The following chapters will focus solely on innovative and
opportunity entrepreneurs, as necessity entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs that imitate others
contribute little to none towards economic development. Entrepreneurships often quoted definition
is that it is about the discovery and exploitation of opportunities (Shane Venkataraman 2001). Why
is innovative entrepreneurship important? Innovative entrepreneurship plays an important role in
today s society across different countries and institutional contexts and by contributing to economic
development, it is a catalyst for institutional development and structural change, and it helps
addressing challenges that policy makers are trying to overcome. Such challenges include economic
growth, climate change, sustainable development, maintaining biodiversity, socioeconomic issues,
job creation and poverty. The level and type of impact

Defining an Individual Essay
Defining an Individual
What is an individual? How can one become an individual? Is it even possible to become an
individual in society? Can we successfully distinguish ourselves from the majority to make our
own decisions? How does your family affect your personality and every day decision making: your
ethics and morals? How does your childhood affect you today? How does it affect our subconscious
something we can not control and we do not have access to? Is it possible to go back in time and
completely erase everything we have been taught through years of brainwashing and manipulation,
not only from the system that we are brought up in but also the family and lifestyles that are now
part of us?

Can we trust our instincts to lead us in a personal, unorthodox way? Does it mean that we spend
our life in pursuit of this great task of erasing our past? Is that possible? Does it mean that we
question everything we do in order to make our own choices? Would not that mean we are being
affected directly from the exact thing we desperately need to escape? Would not it be incredibly
easy to rebel against the norm to appear individual? If you rebel against the way of everything else
then you are doing the exact same thing that everyone else is doing. Rebelling does not institute
individualism. There is no environment that would serve the purpose of producing an individual.
Once we use these words environment and producing, we instantly defeat the purpose.
In The Soul s Code by James Hillman he states, The category unshared environment is an
invention of hard sciences to locate the cause of individual differences (Hillman, 149). An
environment that is unshared by it s surroundings is a fallacy. He goes on to state, Even the pillow
on which I lie breathing as I float into my own private midnight dream bears traces of duck down,
polyester, and cotton and the environments from which is was manufactured, as well as of the
traffic of mites sharing the pillow with me (149). There is no environment capable of testing the
individual outside of society.

Similarities Between Lenin And Stalin
Lenin and Stalin were similar in a few ways, Lenin s ultimate goal for the Soviet Union and the
Communist party was World Revolution. World revolution was led by the working class called the
proletariat. With that Stalin has some of the similar ideas but went down a different road to
establish his idea and goal. When it comes to Stalinism, there are essential features that are unique.
Stalin used some ideas of Marxismand Leninism along with his own spin in it. One big difference
that makes Stalin different from Lenin is the policy that each had. Lenin s idea was world
revolution, where Stalin used his idea of socialism in one country. Stalin s socialism in one country

The Five Year Plans were set up by Stalin and his right hand men; they set up these goals in a few
categories of the Soviet Union. It was called the Five Year Plan because they hoped to achieve
everything they set up in five years; once the goals were achieved they would discuss and set up
the next Five Year Plan. In the first Five Year Plan, it focused on agriculture. Before the plan, the
farmers and the workers essentially worked on their own farms that were run by their families,
allowing them to have the freedom to do as they pleased, but with Socialism on the brink
everything changed. Socialism includes the government in charge of everything, meaning that
collective farming was the new thing. With that farmers and the peasants were taken away from
the farm and then everyone was combined into what they called a collective farm. This meant
that everyone on that farm had to work together to get the outcome that they wanted. People
didn t have the choice of having their farm put into a collective farm. In the case if anyone didn t
like the idea or spoke out against the actions they would be shipped to Siberia where they would
work for hard labor or they could be shipped to concentration camps. The idea of dekulakization
happened to the kulaks, meaning that if there were villages that had too many peasants would be
liquidated. It was the same concept as collective farming. A key thing with the Kulaks was that a
Rich peasant was a bad peasant. Stalin s reasoning behind the planned economy and the use of
collective farming would make the Union a better place. With that the government would be in
control of everything. That was supposed to make the Union more efficient and effective,

Factors Of Imperialism In Nigeria
The people of Nigeria are divided into three ethnic groups the Hausa Fulani, the Yoruba, and the
Igbo. During imperialism, Nigeria was a colony of Great Britain and ruled by indirect control.
The Hausa Fulani would govern their region with their language and Islam religion. Whereas,
the other two regions in the south adopted Christianity and European ways and helped govern
their own regions. When Britain decided to withdraw from the colony in 1960, they set up a
Nigerian Federal State with a central government and separate governments for each of the three
regions. The Niger River Delta region was rich in mineral oil deposits and they also produced
palm oil, coffee, and tin for export. The economy of the new nation was largely dependent on
selling oil production leases to foreign companies and money earned from export of oil. Since,
each region had its own government, the politicians were focused on channeling the wealth from
the sale of oil into their own region so as to benefit themselves, their followers and their own
regions. This gave rise to competition, greed for oil money and corruption among politicians. The
party in power at the central government controlled the oil leases, the import licenses, the
construction job projects, and the government jobs. They also got the bribes from giving out these
contracts. When, the first national election happened in 1964, the political parties used bribery,
rigging of votes and violence to win and gain

Babysitting Speech
In the last few decades, many circumstances have been changed to adapt to what the modernizing
society demands. For example, parents have revised society to what they believe would create an
auspicious environment for their children. The lecturer, Dr. Wendy Mogel, begins her speech with
the example of babysitting, and that children used to babysit at the adolescent age of nine.
However, in contemporary times, according to Dr. Mogel, nine year olds have babysitters, a

I make these assumptions using the information that parents shelter their children to an extreme
extent killing their want to help, as declared in the lecture. Furthermore, children are born with the
desire to want to help others, but that is repressed by their parents who teach them to let people
help them, instead of doing those acts for themselves. I believe that adolescent juveniles are more
open to suggestion, which is why they allow their parents to do most tasks for them. To further
explain, because their parents do many jobs for them, they believe that this is what the right thing
is. If this is truly the case, then by sheltering their children, parents are killing their want to help
others and avert carrying out essential tasks for themselves. This can be seen in the experiment
done by Michael Tomasello, which displays that children want to help. Toddlers and infants
demonstrate an ability not seen in many adults, the want to care for, and provide abetment for
others. This instinct comes from the exercise of altruism, which releases the beneficial drugs;
oxytocin, dopamine, and endorphins, within the body. However, as mentioned previously this
capacity does not last for very long after these young children begin to mature. In an experiment

William Shakespeare s Taming Of The Shrew
Many classic literary works are considered timeless due to the way they tackle the human
condition. These works have stood the test of time and continue to do so because they grapple
with economic and social issues that people of all ages, from all walks of life, can relate to.
Shakespearean plays ideally encompass these viewpoints; they can be tragic, comedic or even
romantic. Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeareexplores the marriagebetween a shrewd
woman, Katherine and a willing suitor, Petruchio. Petruchio challenges himself to try and
transform shrewd ways of Katherine to turn her into the ideal and obedient house wife by using
various techniques, such as denying her company and even food and clothing. The comedic genre
is shown through the clever language and the witty words, revealing an entertaining and light
hearted tone. Classic literary works should always be relatable and to this day, this play is still
engaging people with issues prevalent in modern day society.
During Shakespearean and Elizabethan times, women were not seen as equal and were treated
like property, traded like cattle and sold off with a dowry during marriage. They had to be
subservient to the men in their lives, whether it be towards their father or their husband. The man
was seen as stronger, more able to do everyday tasks and providing for the family, while the
women were to stay at home to raise the kids and clean the house. Despite society s claims of
