About This Presentation

Ethics in education: Role of ethics in education: Honesty : Honesty means being loyal, truthful, trustworthy, sincere, and fair. Confidentiality : The Confidentiality refers to your commitment not to disclose or transmit information to the unauthorized people Conflict of interest : condition in which your main responsibility as a student is negotiated by engaging other priorities Responsibility : The student’s responsibility takes place when students take an energetic part in their studying by acknowledging they are responsible for their academic progress

Work Ethics 1. Integrity This involves being honest, ethical, and reliable in all professional dealings. It’s about doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Be honest and ethical in all your dealings. Keep your promises and be reliable/dependable. 2 . Responsibility This involves taking ownership of one’s actions and decisions, and being accountable for the outcomes. Take ownership of your actions and decisions. Be accountable for the outcomes. 3. Quality This involves striving for excellence and taking pride in one’s work. Strive for excellence in your work. Take pride in what you do.

4. Discipline This involves showing commitment, perseverance, and self-control in achieving one’s goals . Show commitment and perseverance in achieving your goals. Exercise self-control. 5. Teamwork This involves working effectively with others to achieve common goals. Work effectively with others. Be cooperative and supportive

Work ethic skills Reliability : Individuals with a strong set of values are known for their dependability. They consistently meet deadlines, fulfill commitments, and can be counted on to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. Their reliability instills trust and confidence in both colleagues and superiors. Dedication : Those with a strong work ethic are deeply committed to their work. They go above and beyond to achieve excellence and are willing to put in the extra effort when needed. They are motivated by their passion for their profession and take pride in producing high-quality results. Initiative : Individuals with a strong work ethic are proactive and take initiative in their roles. They don’t wait for instructions or guidance but instead actively seek out opportunities to contribute and make a difference. They are self-starters who are always looking for ways to improve and take on new challenges.

Professionalism : Strong work ethic is often associated with professionalism. Individuals with this trait conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well on their organization. They maintain a positive attitude, communicate effectively, and treat others with respect and courtesy. They understand the importance of representing their company in a positive light. Adaptability : Those with a strong work ethic are adaptable and flexible in their approach to work. They can easily adjust to changing circumstances, handle unexpected challenges, and embrace new technologies or processes. Their willingness to adapt ensures they can continue to perform at a high level regardless of the circumstances. Accountability : Individuals with a strong work ethic take responsibility for their actions and outcomes. They don’t make excuses or shift blame onto others. Instead, they own up to their mistakes, learn from them, and strive to improve. They understand that accountability is essential for personal and professional growth. Time management:  Those with a strong work ethic are skilled in managing their time effectively. They prioritize tasks, set realistic goals, and are able to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality. They understand the value of time and strive to maximize productivity in their workday .

Clear expectations to be set Be what you want to observe. Share your own experiences. Compelling stories are to be shared. Good behaviour should be rewarded. Random act of kindness is to be appreciated & encouraged. Ethical vocabulary to be developed amongst each other. Help each other believe in ethical conduct.

Ethical behaviour in classroom   S ome key aspects of ethical behavior in an educational setting: Honesty : Uphold the principles of honesty by being truthful and transparent. Avoid cheating, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty. Respect : Treat others with respect, including classmates, teachers, and staff. Active listening is essential—create a classroom environment where everyone feels heard and valued 1 . Fairness : Ensure fairness in all interactions. Avoid favoritism and treat all students equitably. Acknowledge and celebrate good behavior and successful completion of assignments more frequently than addressing negative behavior 1 . Compassion : Show empathy and understanding. Address bad actions without hindering the learning process. As a teacher, you are the orchestrator—set the tone for respectful behavior in the classroom
