3. INTRODUCTION TO STUDENT WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM The SWEP program was first introduced in Nigeria in 1984. The aim was to expose Nigerian students to practical work experience in order to prepare them for the job market after graduation. The program was first implemented in selected universities in the country. Over the years, the program has expanded to cover all tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It has also undergone several changes and modifications aimed at making it more effects. Background of establishment Genais automobile Nigeria limited located at no. 54/56 Opebi road ikeja Lagos state is an automobile workshop company that deals with the maintenance and repair of automobile [mostly cars ]. 6. Project one Servicing of an auto-mobile. The servicing of an auto-mobile is an important routine for the longevity of the machine. It prevents car from malfunctioning and increase performance STEPS TO SERVICNG A CAR Inspect the car Clean out the cabin/ac air filter Change the oil of the car and oil filter Check the brake pads Check level of fluids in the car if below minimum requirement, then top up Reset millage

Problems encountered while servicing a car Leakage of the oil filter Inhaling of dirty/dust Leakage of air from tyres Tyre preesure monitoring system Light (TPMS)still active on dash board Solutions to problems encountered Put engine oil on the oil filter seal Wear a nose mask Check tyre pressure and check for leakages Reset millage on the dash board

8. Project Two Removal and replacement of brake pad Brake pads are the principal component of the braking system in an automobile. They play a vital part in stopping or slowing down the car. Steps to replacing a brake pad jack car up Remove wheels Remove slider bolt Pivot caliper Remove brake clips Remove old brake pads Replace the retaining clips Apply grease to new brake pad Slide the new brake pad into the retaining clip Check and replace brake fluid retract piston and replace slider bolt

10. Project 3 Changing/cleaning of fuel injector plug Fuel injectors are electronically controlled mechanical device which is used to inject or spray fuel into the engine. Cleaning of fuel injectors Disconnect fuel pump fuse Disconnect fuel line Remove the fuel injector Clean injector with choke/ carbo cleaner Do these for all injectors. .

12. Project 4 Replacement of fuel pump The fuel pump main task is to supply fuel to the engine injection system. How to replace fuel pump jack up vehicle Locate fuel pump and disconnect Disconnect fuel fuse Drain fuel tank Remove old fuel tank and replace close fuel cap Place tank back properly

Problems and solutions encountered Problems encountered while replacing a fuel Location of fuel tank is different for every car Fuel tank is heavy Damage fuel pump inside fuel Fuel needs to be drained out of the fuel tank Solutions to problems encountered Assistance is needed when bringing down the fuel tank The fuel pump should be brought out carefully A scoop is needed to drain the fuel Make sure the cap is closed properly
