WHAT IS A FAMILY? -is a group of two or more individuals that are related by marriage, birth, or adoption and usually live together in the same household.

A family is the most basic social unit in human society. ACCORDING TO SCIENTISTS

The size and members of a family vary between households. IMMEDIATE FAMILY EXTENDED FAMILY -consists of parents, children, siblings, and spouses. -consists of grandfathers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

means relationship by BLOOD. 1.CONSANGUINITY 11. AFFINITY means relationship by MARRIAGE.

TYPES OF FAMILY

CONJUGAL/NUCLEAR FAMILY Also known as the traditional family consists of a husband, a wife and the children.

2. EXTENDED FAMILY consists of the nuclear family plus grandparents, aunts, uncle or cousins living together under the same roof.

3. SINGLE-PARENT FAMILY consists of an adult living with one or more children; in most cases, single parents are divorced, separated, or widowed.

4. BLENDED OR RECONSTITUTED FAMILY created when one or both partners bring children from a previous marriage into the relationship.
