2. WHAT IS 5 YEAR PLAN? It is one of a continuing series of Soviet governmental programs designed to achieve usually specified goals in the planned, coordinated, and cumulative development of the Soviet economy and other sectors of Soviet life (as education and science) over a period of five years.

3. HISTORY OF 5 YEAR PLAN After independence Indian had to rebuild its economy from scratch . 2 Economy model was present: C apitalist economy and Socialist economy. Both socialism and capitalism was followed.

ABOUT NITI AAYOG Five-Year Plans are developed, executed, and monitored by the PLANNING COMMISSION (1951-2014 )  and In 2014, the government has announced the dissolution of this Planning Commission and replaced it by NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India). 6. RECENT AMENDMENT The present NDA government has stopped the formation of five year plans. So 12 th  five year plan (2014 – 2017) would be called the last five year plan of India. Now the three-year action plan is a part of a seven-year strategy paper and a 15-year vision document. The Niti Aayog , which has replaced the Planning Commission, has launched  a three-year action plan from April 1, 2017.
