Lesson 1: Prepare the dining room/restaurant for service Learning Objectives 1: Take table reservations 1.1 Answer inquiries promptly, clearly and accurately 1.2 Ask pertinent question to complete the details of the reservation 1.3 Record reservation data on forms accurately based on establishment’s standard 1.4 Repeat and confirm details of the reservations with the customer 1.5 Provide additional information about food service establishments

Taking Table Reservation Answer the phone promptly Introduce yourself and ask the name of the caller properly Use the name of the caller appropriately Determine the number guest, reservation date and time of arrival If the caller if making reservation for another person ask the name and the contact information of the guest who will be checking in and the person making the reservation Record the details of the reservation on the record book/log Recap the details of the reservation to the caller Take note of any additional request and Conclude the call properly Follow up to confirm the reservation.
