Piano
Who was Frédéric
François Chopin
Frédéric François Chopin, known as Fryderyk Franciszek
Szopen in Polish, was born on March 1, 1810, in Żelazowa
Wola, near Warsaw. He was a prominent composer and
pianist of the Romantic period, celebrated for his emotional
music and virtuosic technique. He died in 1849, leaving a
lasting musical legacy.
Chopin’s life
His father, Nicholas, was French, but he spent his whole life in Poland. His
mother was polish.
He started having piano lessons at the age of 7. He wrote his first musical piece
at that same age. Three years late he performed in the presence of the Russian
tsar Alexander I. He had a growing reputation as a child prodigy.
Looking for his artistic development, he decided to move to France at the age of
20.
At that times Poland didn’t exist in Europe’s map, and just after Chopin left the
country an armed uprising broke out. He loved his motherland and he wanted to
go back, but he couldn’t.
He went very famous in Paris because of his music.
Frédéric Chopin's move to Paris in 1831, this
marked a significant point in his life and career.
Due to the outbreak of the November Uprising in
Warsaw, it was impossible for him to return home.
He missed the country his whole life. That was
what most influenced his way of composing music.

severe breathing problems, and weight loss. Many
believe he had tuberculosis, which led to his death at
the age of 39. His illness caused him constant fatigue
and frequent attacks of illness, which affected his
musical career.
Influence on music
Frédéric Chopin greatly influenced music, especially for the piano.
He created beautiful melodies and emotional pieces. His works, like
nocturnes and études, changed how people play the piano. Chopin
also used Polish folk music in his compositions. Many later
composers were inspired by his style and creativity.
Previously explained in the presentation, Chopin’s music was deeply
influenced by nostalgia and a strong desire to return to his
homeland of Poland. His music captures feelings of homesickness and
pride, conveying both the beauty of his culture and the pain of exile.
Through his emotional melodies, Chopin expresses complex feelings
of longing and loss, allowing listeners to connect with his
experiences.
