Frustration

definition Frustration is the blocking or interference of the satisfaction of an aroused need through some barriers or obstruction. -Symonds Frustration means emotional tension resulting from the blocking of a desire or need. Frustration results when our motives are thwarted, either by some obstacles that blocks or impedes our progress toward.

Sources of frustration

SOURCES 1. Environmental forces: -Environmental barriers can block attainment of goals which may lead to frustration. Environmental barriers like lack of money or lack of support from people can prevent an individual to achieve goal. 2. Personal inadequacies: -Sometimes individual set goal which are beyond his ability to reach. -Due to this individual may feel frustration.

CONTI.. CONFLICT BEWEEN AND AMONG MOTIVES: When two motives interfere with each other, it leads to development of conflict. For example- people usually caught in conflict when they are in aggression. They want to express their anger but due to disapproval from society, peers and family, they are not able to express it.

Types Internal frustration - This type of frustration results within the individual, due to personal inadequacies and when person have competing goals E.g. lack of confidence, fear of social rejection. 2.
