So basically, We use ‘ will/won ’ t ’ + V1 for spontaneous decisions predictions based on opinio n We use ‘ be + (not) going to + V1 for evidence based predictions planned future events We also use present continuous for planned future events. By the time we get there, the film will have started. ( This means that when we get there, we will be able to say: “The film has started .”) The builder says he will have finished the roof by Saturday. ( So Saturday at the latest, maybe before .)
