In fact, the fur keeps them so warm that adult males can quickly overheat when they run. Polar bears are also tall, as a typical adult bear may reach over 3 meters when standing on its hind legs. Work independently: Write a paragraph about how the study of extremophiles could help us to discover life on other planets. Possible answers The study of extremophiles could help scientists understand how life might exist on other planets with harsh environments that are similar to the ones on Earth. Studying these conditions could also help us adapt and make our world more habitable. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ministry of Education - Second Semester 2021-2022 Grade 8 – Unit 5 – Life in the Extreme – Lesson 1 (Vocabulary) You decide:
In my opinion, human activities will not eventually turn the whole Earth into a harsh and an extreme environment but would typically cause some climate change for a variety of reasons. The pollution caused by factories and increasing plastic waste are a few conditions that may lead to climate change. We should start planting trees in place of the trees we are cutting, to help produce fresh air. We can also adapt to use less plastic and recycle as much as possible. 2.
