GAME OF THE GENERAL Also known as “ salpakan ” it is aneducational game designed for two (2) players this game simulates army likes at war trying to outsmart and outmaneuver each other This game allows one side only a sketchy view of the other sides plan.

Objective >To eliminate/capture the flag of the opponent. > To maneuver own flag to the other end of the board where it lands to a space with no enemy piece/s beside it.

Game Board 9x8 squares, shades squares are the allotted for the pieces in their initial position.

Illustrative Example Colonel vs. Captain= Colonel wins, Captain is removed from board Spy vs. Private= Private wins, Spy is removed from the board. 5 stars General vs. Spy= spy wins, 5 star General is removed from board. If a lower ranking officer (example: Captain) attacks a higher ranking officer (example: Colonel), the lower ranking officer is removed from the board.

MOVEMENT Any player makes the first move. Players move alternately. A player is allowed to move only one piece at a time. A move consists of pushing a piece to an adjacent square, either forward, backward or side ward.A diagonal move or a move of more than one square is illegal.

RULES Pieces are not required to be placed in a definite pattern Players place their pieces according to their strategy. Players are only allowed to place their pieces on the first three(3) rows of their side of the board. Pieces should face their owners so it can’t be seen by the opponent. Players decide who goes first then take turns alternately.
