Course Description Purposive Communication is a three-unit course that develops students’ communicative competence and enhances their cultural and intercultural awareness through multimodal tasks that provide them opportunities for communicating effectively and appropriately to multicultural audience in a local or global context.

Purposive Communication Class Seventeen Weeks: January 16 to May 26 LESSON 1: COMMUNICATION PRINCIPLES, PROCESSES, AND ETHICS LESSON 2: COMMUNICATION AND GLOBALIZATION LESSON 3: COMMUNICATION IN MULTICULTURAL CONTEXTS LESSON 6: COMMUNICATION AIDS AND STRATEGIES IN USING TOOLS OF TECHNOLOGY LESSON 5: EVALUATION OF TEXTS AND IMAGES IN MULTICULTURAL CONTEXTS LESSON 4: LANGUAGE VARIETIES AND REGISTERS

Individual Assessment WRITTEN QUIZZES Our school grading system applies. Passing rate is 60. Periodic quizzes will assess the mastery of each topic. FINAL EXAM Our school grading system applies. Passing rate is 60. This end-of-module exam will test the mastery of all topics covered. ORAL RECITATION A weekly oral test will check both your understanding and ability to communicate.

Class Requirements LEARNING PACKS Access INK and PPT presentations via Teams. SCHOOL EMAIL The use of personal email addresses will not be allowed. LEARNING DEVICE A computer, laptop or tablet may be used, but ensure a working web camera and good audio output. INTERNET ACCESS A stable Internet connection is essential for online sessions. VIRTUAL CLASSROOM Access our Virtual Classroom platform via Teams. COLLABORATIVE PLATFORMS The prescribed learning platforms must be downloaded for group activities.
