5 Names or nouns ending in S add only apostrophe. Luis’ eyes are blue.

For an item or items belonging to one person, use ’s . The student ’s glasses = one student is the owner of the glasses 2

For an item or items belonging to more than one person, use s’ . The students ’ books = more than one student is the owner of the books 3

When there’s more than one owner : To show common possession, only the last owner receives ’s . Suzy and Bella ’s house = the same house.   To show individual possession, use ’s for each owner. John ’s and Billy ’s mother = different mothers. 8
