Helen Keller Helen Keller ( 1880 – 1868 ), She was blind and deaf but she became one of America’s most famous authors and lecturers. She had a very good teacher Anne Sullivan. Anne made Helen feel objects with one hand. Then she traced the word for each object onto the palm of Helen’s hand.
