2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 The Use of Checklist Monitoring to Improve FETA Teachers in DLL Submission GIRLIE L. ABEJO MT-I Matangad National High School Gitagum District

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 Context and Rationale In the context of DepEd Order: No. 42 s. 2016 the implementation Of Republic Act (RA) No. 10533 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act 2013, the Department of Education (DepEd) issues the enclosed Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson Preparation for the Kto 12 Basic Education Program. Planning lessons is fundamental to ensuring the delivery of teaching and learning in schools. These guidelines aim to support teachers in organizing and managing their classes and lessons effectively and efficiently and ensure the achievement of learning outcomes.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 Furthermore, these guidelines affirm the role of the K to 12 teachers as a facilitator of learning. Preparing for lessons through the Daily Lesson Log (DLL) or Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) provides teachers with an opportunity for reflection on what learners need to learn, how learners learn, and how best to facilitate the learning process. These guidelines also aim to empower teachers to carry out quality instruction that recognizes the diversity of learners inside the classroom, is committed to learners’ success, and allows the use of varied instructional and formative assessment

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 strategies including the use of information and communications technologies (ICTs), and enables the teacher to guide, mentor, and support learners in developing and assessing their learning across the curriculum. These guidelines will remain in force and effect unless sooner repealed, amended, or rescinded. All issuances inconsistent with this Order are hereby rescinded.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 According to Gilbert M. Forbes, Teachers need to plan their lesson and Prepare daily Log (DLL). Teachers Guides (TG’s) are only guides. It is suggestive but not prescriptive. It is definitely not a Lesson Plan (LP). As teachers, therefore, we still need to plan our lessons to ensure that it fit well with our classes. “Planning is one of the most important project management and time management techniques.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 Planning is preparing a sequence of action steps to achieve a specific goal. It is like a map. When following a plan, you can always see how much you have progressed toward your project goal and how far you are from your destination. Knowing where you are is essential for making good decisions on where to go or what to do next .

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 All those things mentioned about planning is not contained in our TG’s. However, LP preparation though the most ideal is very time-consuming. So after more than a decade of struggle to move away from the rigors of LP preparations but not necessarily lost its essence, the Daily Lesson Log was introduced by DepEd so that time lost will be directed in studying the content of the lesson and the preparation of instructional materials. DLL is a much simplified LP for it contains official record of activities, instruction and learning experiences written in a systematic way. DO 42, s. 2016 explained it clearly that it aims to support teachers in organizing and managing their

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 classes and lessons effectively and efficiently and ensure the achievement of learning outcomes. Preparing for lessons through the Daily Lesson Log (DLL) provides teachers with an opportunity for reflection on what learners need to learn, how learners learn, and how best to facilitate the learning process. At first, because of its length, DLL preparation will require an additional 50% or even double the time required viz the old DLL but its only while we are still new to it but sooner, as we became used to it and learned techniques of doing shortcuts, it will be easier.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 II. Action Research Questions This study primarily aims to determine the factors affecting the late Submission and noncompliance of the respondents to the submission of the required Daily Lesson Log (DLL). Specifically, this seeks to answer the following questions: 1. What is the status of FETA teachers of DLL submissions? 2. What are the factors affecting the late and non-compliance of DLL Submission?

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 2.1 I run short of time doing the task. 2.2 I find it difficult to craft a Daily Lesson Log. 2.3 I have many workloads aside from teaching loads. 2.4 I am not adept in Technology. 3. What intervention plan is designed to improve DLL submission? 4. Is there any difference in terms of DLL Submission before and after the intervention plan?

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 III . Proposed Innovation, Intervention, and strategy This Study designs an intervention plan to deal with the current problem encountered by the researcher, being the Incharge of checking the teachers DLL Submission as a Master Teacher I of Matangad National High School. The plan is going to be conducted in the fourth quarter of School Year 2023-2024. The researcher will scrutinize the Checklist of DLL Submission from the First to the Third quarter of the current School Year 2023-2024, to find out the very core underlying the non-compliance of DLL submission.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 As soon as the approval of the School Head regarding the Study, the researcher will schedule the date and time to conduct the study to the identified teacher participants as the respondents of the study. The researcher will ask the respondents to answer the four (4) item questionnaire to determine their specific reason or the factor affecting their specific reason or the factor affecting their DLL submission problem. After identifying the factors, the researcher will facilitate a one-on-one consultation with the identified teacher-respondents for a scheduled coaching to be set for a two-month duration.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 IV. Action Research Methods   a. Participants and/or Other Sources of Data The respondents of this study are the twelve (12) subject teachers under Filipino, Esp , TLE, and Araling Panlipunan of Matangad National High School. The data will be gathered through the 4 item survey questionnaires and the Checklist monitoring of teachers as participants.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 b. Data Gathering Methods Before gathering the data in this research, the researcher will submit a training design and matrix to the School Head of Matangad National High School, Dr. Allan C. Dangcal to conduct a Study using the Checklist Monitoring highlighting the twelve respondents. After the approval is granted, the researcher set the date and time for the floating of questionnaires. The researcher will prepare a survey questionnaire to teacher respondents to determine the factors affecting the teachers' problem on DLL Submission. The survey questionnaire will be validated among twelve (12) teachers in Matangad National High School.

2024 SCHOOL RESEARCH CONFERENCE MARCH 27,2024 The researcher will design an intervention plan to address the problems among teachers in DLL Submission. The plan will be implemented in the whole Fourth quarter period of school year 2023-2024.   c. Data Analysis Plan This study analyzed the data obtained from the respondents’ responses to the survey questionnaires with the use of statistical tools. The computation of the frequency, percentage and t-test was conducted to analyze the data.

Plans for Dissemination and Utilization Results of the study will then be piloted to the nearby High school specifically GPelaez Integrated School to augment the needed motivational skills and ensure commitment among other teachers to make the common goal achievable and in like manner to make the DLL Submission Program sustainable. The teacher-researcher is likewise to present the output of the study in the District Level to relate the same contention and share a more likely engaging interaction among other respondents worth extolling for.
