Professor Thomas Pogge, Leitner Professor of Philosophy

lecturing on the International Justice module.

Professor Pogge chairs the International Bar Association’s
Human Rights Institute taskforce on illicit fi nancial fl ows,

agreement because their perspectives differ so much.
One major source of this problem is that leaders lack
a common framework to discuss global public goods
like peace, human rights and poverty.

King’s striving for global justice
Dr Nicola Palmer, lecturing on the Conflict, Truth
& Law module, was formerly Convenor of Oxford
University’s Transnational Justice Research working
on issues of transition in societies recovering from
mass conflict and/or repressive rule.
A Rhodes Scholar, Dr Palmer assisted the UN’s
International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She
works with the Economic Social Research Council’s
collaboration project to formulate, implement
and assess transitional justice processes.
King’s working for human rights
Professor Allen Buchanan, Professor of Philosophy
of International Law, lecturing on the Human Rights
module, combines research and teaching with
practical contributions to human rights.
Professor Buchanan has participated in national
and international public policy processes, serving
on every US Presidential bioethics commission
since 1981.
He is an Advisory Council member of the National
Human Genome Research and consultant to the
High Commission of National Minorities of the
Council of Europe.
