grief. Janet Lee Carey has such an amazing way of telling the story of a near death
experience and helping Will s feelings reach the reader in a personal manner, almost
as if the book is speaking to the individual.
I see the book as an old friend, one whose pages have yellowed, and the spine,
broken and split from being handled so many times. Every page of the book is stiff
from use, yet surprisingly not wrinkled from water damage. In recent years, this
book has sat on my shelf, stuffed away to the top, hidden by newer and less
important stories. Yet, like everything well loved, it came back when I needed it
most in my life. Wenny has Wings , spoke to me when I was young, and now the
story speaks to me as I lose friends, find new beginnings, and feel what it means to
lose someone.
The last time I read Will s tale was in 2013 when my grandfather suddenly passed
away. I remember the feeling of grief and for some time I didn t know how to deal

The National Debt in America has been a major concern for many years. The United

Despite America being in trillions of dollars worth of debt the government continues
to borrow more money and surprisingly functions. Foreign countries continue to lend
the United States money because the economy of other nations would plummet. Other

The Matrix Movie Analysis
A world where everyone lives inside of a computer program that is being controlled
by machines after humans lost the war, but they are unaware that it is not the real
world. A group of people that are trying to take down this program called The Matrix.
This is a movie where the magnificent directors use theme, chemistry, and special
effects to capture attention and make the one of the greatest films ever made.
In The Matrix, there are many themes that contribute to the greatness of this film.
In the movie, the theme of freedom is expressed in many ways. When Neo takes
the red pill instead of the blue pill he had set himself free from the matrix, a
program designed to keep humans trapped so machines can use them as batteries,
this shows that Neo chose the harder path of freedom rather than the easier, yet the
ignorant path of imprisonment. Another example is when Neo dies at the end of
the film and his mind had not been set free and he was still being restricted to the
things he could not do in the Matrix, but when he is brought back his mind had
been completely freed and he became capable of inhumane things, such as being
able to move at incredible speeds and being able to stop bullets in midair. Another
theme in The Matrix is the theme of man vs. machine, which is portrayed all
throughout the film. At the end of the film, there is a battle between the machines
and the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar, a hover craft that the crew uses in the real

Two poems about city life by Liz Lochead
Liz Lochead has written two poems about city life, one being Laundrette which is
set in an area of Bristol which is full of bedsits, meant for students just renting. The
other poem is George Square which is set in the business district in Glasgow. As the
first poem mentioned, Laundrette has a subtle start as it says We sit nebulous in
steam (nebulous meaning hazy or vague). You could almost have a debate on all the
possible places that you sit nebulous in steam . Through the whole of laundrette it
never uses the word laundrette except of course in the title. Quite on the opposite,

When saying sitting separate the poet puts sitting and separate on different lines to
emphasise the importance of the words being separate. Straight after that she puts
close together on the same line to say that they re close together.
Both poems have metaphors in, George Square uses incurable as cancer as quite a
shocking metaphor to describe how we can t get rid of flowers and weeds in the city
no matter how hard we try.
Laundrette has a few more metaphors. It has our eyes are riveted to describe how we
just stand or sit and stare intently at the washing machine as if were expecting
something to happen to our clothes. Another metaphor is the dark shoves one man in
which uses personification to show how someone, randomly wandering around comes
into the laundrette to get away from the dark.
A good metaphor is tee shirts skinned from her wriggling son meaning how a
mother had too pull the tee shirts off her son who was probably screaming, shouting
and trying to get away. One metaphor, talking about the same person is she sees a
kaleidoscope saying about how all the multicoloured clothes go whirring around the
washing machine very much like a kaleidoscope.
Half lost, his small possessions swim describes how there is a dour man with
hardly any clothes at all to wash so the washing machine isn t full, creating the
image of his clothes swimming around in all the masses of water looking half lost .

Abstract Because our future depends on it, humanity must continue to invest in
space exploration.. Technologies from the space program can be used to benefit
the world and everyday life. Space flight encourages scientific aspirations and
therefore more college educated people. The answers to the most deep rooted
questions of humanity lie in space. Who are we, why are we here? Are we alone?
Why spend money on spaceflight when we have plenty of problems here on earth?
The money that we spend on spaceflight will circle around to solve the pressing

Remember when you dreamed? What did you dream about? I was an astronaut on a
spacewalk. I was terrified yet thrilled. I was a kid in a tree house dreaming of
something greater than himself that will change the world and humanity forever.

Methods
To understand the importance of space flight, I thought that it would be vital to
grasp the mindset of people who have firsthand experience with spaceflight. I began
by reading Buzz Aldrin s 2013 book, Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space
Exploration published by National Geographic as well as the 2016 speech, Mars
Matters given by Charles Bolden, the director of NASA, at the 32nd Space
Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I then thought that it would be
important to comprehend the historical significance of space flight. I found 2
articles by NASA s chief historian, Steven J. Dick published by NASA: The
Importance of Exploration and Societal Impact of the Space Age (2005). I needed
to know in more detail the future of space flight that I was arguing for so I read the
2016 Huffington Post Article by David H. Bailey and Jonathan M. Borwein titled,
Space Exploration: The Future is Now. I wanted to develop an idea of the intangible
reasons that we explore space; the psychological reasons. These were explained in
