INTRODUCTION ROCK ANCHORS Definition: Rock anchors is a steel tendon installed into a drilled hole in a rock formation or stable ground secured with grout to provide structural stability. Purpose: Provide stability against uplift sliding and overturning. Widely used in civil engineering field like Geotechnical and structural projects.

OBJECTIVES OF ROCK ANCHORS To stabilize slopes, tunnels and foundation. To resist uplift forces in dams and retaining walls. To increase the load-bearing capacity To prevent the structure movement.

PRINCIPLE OF ROCK ANCHORS The principle of a rock anchor is to create a strong, permanent connection between a surface structure and stable, underlying rock to resist force and stabilize the structure .
