Day 1-2

Read the text and fill in the gaps.   dictionary  photos    questions  know    headline    information   Firstly, read the  1_____ of an article. It catches your attention and summarizes the article in only a few words. Secondly, look at the 2______. They often  illustrate important aspects of the  3______  given in the text. 

Think about what you already 4______ about the topic. Also, it can be easier  to understand a text if you ask yourself  5______ on the topic and look for the  answers while reading. Don’t worry about unknown vocabulary – if you can’t guess the meaning of a  word, just look it up in a  6______.

Factual texts  inform the reader about a particular subject. They should give useful information  and focus on facts. 

Examples; news reports, interviews  recipes, records of history,  instructions, FAQs(Frequently asked questions)

TYPES OF FACTUAL TEXT NEWS REPORT Found in newspapers and news channels and thr primary purpose is to inform the readers of what is happening in athe world and around them. It usually begins with a catchy title.

(GROUP WORK) Form a group consists of 5 members. Read and carefully follow the instructions. Make sure that each member will have his/her turn in answering the number assigned to him or to her.

ACTIVITY 1. (Color Coded Activity) Identify whether the text is FACTUAL or NOT FACTUAL by raising the colored paper applicable for each item.

ACTIVITY 2.

ASSIGNMENT. Make a graphic organizer of your choice presenting the text below. Procedure.

Procedure. 1.Carefully break the eggs in a bowl. 2.Add a pinch of salt & pepper. Beat it. 3. On a large pan, heat oil over a medium heat. 4.Saute minced garlic in a pan until golden brown. 5. Put the beaten eggs. 6.Flip the egg over until cooked.
