1-Pauper: Meaning : n. a person who is very poor , especially one dependent upon public charity. Definition: a very poor person Synonym : beggar Antonym: enrich , diligent Examples :1-He died a pauper at the age of 51. 2-He did die a pauper and he is buried in an unmarked grave.

2-Excerpt Meaning : n. a selected passage or scene from a literary work or piece of music ; an extract v. to take out or select passages , to quote Definition : a short extract from a film , broadcast , or piece of music or writing. Synonym: fragment , verse , stanza, saying , quotation Antonym: whole , entirety. Examples: 1-She read out excerpts from an article in the times. 2-He presented excerpts from William James’ philosophical writings.

3-Analogy Meaning : n. a likeness between different things; a similarity ; a comparison Definition: a comparison between one thing and another , typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification. Synonym: likeness, correspondence. Antonym: difference , unlikeness . Examples : 1-A Model T Ford and a Volkswagen are both cars , have four wheels , and run on gasoline so comparing them would be an example of an analogy.

4-Ethical Meaning : adj. pertaining to right and wrong; conforming to certain rules or standards; moral Definition : relating to moral principles or the branch of knowledge dealing with these. Synonym: social , behavioral Antonym: unreasonable , improper Examples :1- Unfortunately, people often make less than ethical decisions when cash is involved. 2-Is it ethical to promote cigarettes through advertising?

5-prophetic Meaning: adj. relating to someone or something that foretells events Definition: accurately predicting what will happen in the future. Synonym: fatidic , predictive Antonym: promising Examples : 1-And lately I have thought that those dreams might be prophetic. 2-Her early achievements were prophetic of her future greatness.

6-Heresy Meaning: n. a belief different from accepted fact . Definition: belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious Synonym: defection Antonym: agreement , harmony Examples : 1- The idea is heresy to most employees of the firm. 2-It might be considered heresy to suggest such a notion.

7-Paternal Meaning :adj. inherited from or related through one’s father ; fatherly Definition : related through the father Synonym: fatherlike Antonym: maternal Examples:1-He gave me a piece of a paternal advice. 2-Dad took a paternal interest in my work.

8-Antiquity Meaning: n. ancient times, a thing or people of ancient times’ the quality of being ancient Definition: the ancient past. Synonym: antique Antonym: modernity Examples:1-Cannabis has been used for medical purposes since antiquity. 2-The museum contains the remains of Chinese antiquity.

9-Posthumous Meaning: adj, coming after death Definition: occurring , awarded or appearing after the death of the originator. Synonym: post mortal. Antonym: early , too soon Examples :1-He received a posthumous award for bravery. 2-The legendary actor received a posthumous achievement award.

10-Electorate Meaning: n. all people having the right to vote. Definition: all the people in a country or area who are entitled to vote in an election . Synonym: voter , elector Antonym: noncitizen Examples :1- This year the electorate includes many first–time voters. 2- Our electorate is so diverse that we can’t predict who will win.
