17. Principles of design- are the artistic guidelines for using the elements of design.

18. 1. Balance According to this principle, from the center of the dress, design should be identified on both side.

19. Two ways to achieve balance

20. a. Formal or Symmetrical Balance can be described as having equal "weight" on equal sides of a centrally placed like a see saw .

21. b. Asymmetrically or the informal balance When the structure decoration and accessories are different both sides from the center of the design.
