Introduction Now, let's imagine language arts as a pizza, each slice representing a different part: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Each slice is a different way we use language in our lives. When you read a comic, you're using the 'reading' slice. When you discuss it with friends, you're tapping into the 'speaking' and 'listening' slices. If you get inspired and draw your own version, you're using 'writing'.
