ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy Women's College, popularly
known as R.B.V.R.R Women’s College is a premier institution serving
tertiary education for the past 71 years, particularly to the girl
students of rural Telangana. The College is Autonomous;
accredited by NAAC with Grade “A” under 5th Cycle and is affiliated

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Chemistry was started in 1954 with 59
intermediate students. It has now grown to be the largest
Department with 800 Undergraduate, 60 Post graduate students
and 14 faculty members. It is also the ‘Nodal Department’ for
Forensic Science subject. B.Sc and M.Sc programs in Chemistry, 10
Certificate courses are offered by the Department. The students are
trained in well-equipped teaching laboratories and a “Centralized
Instrumentation Research laboratory” equipped with UV, FTIR,
Fluorescence Spectrophotometers. The Department has
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU’s) & linkages with Research
Institutions/ and industries and is recognized as a ‘Research Centre’
by Osmania University with two Research supervisors
