I. RATIONALE:
In adherence to DO 35, S. 2016 or also known as THE LEARNING ACTION CELL AS A K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM
SCHOOL-BASED CONTINUING PRO FESSIONAL DEVELOPMEN T STRATEGY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHI NG AND LEARNING,
Guiamalia Elementary School conducts a regular professional development through a school-based LAC Session as a support to its personnel in
acquiring lifelong learning. The School Learning Action Cell or SLAC is designed by the department to help teaching personnel improve pedagogy
and competency. It will address issues concerning the most need of teachers in terms of teaching and learning process. Through LAC, teaching
personnel will have continuing professional development to improve the manner of instruction for innovative teaching strategies for a more
effective teaching and learning process. It will provide opportunities for teachers to widen and enhance their knowledge and skills beneficial to
learners.
II. OBJECTIVES:

1. Improve teachers’ pedagogical knowledge, skills, and attitudes in different competencies.
2. Improve teachers’ strategies and techniques for effective teaching and learning process.
3. Update teachers on the teaching innovations and trend especially in the ICT Integration in every learning areas.
4. Improve learners numeracy and literacy skills.
