Halloween premed fun facts from a high school level club

There is a few fun facts that are related to both halloween and premed combined which allows this to be a super fun activity. This powerpoint is at the level of high school students doing a fun activity for a club not really completely educational.

1. S pooky Halloween Facts Welcome Pre-med to today’s meeting.

2. Samhain- Samhainophobia Samhain is the ancient pagan festival celebrated by Celtic people in Britain, Ireland and Northwestern France. Halloween is based off of this celebration that welcomed the end of the harvest of summer and would wear costumes to ward off guards. Samhainophobia is the intense fear of Halloween.

3. Wicce Wicce is an old English word that translates now to the word “witch”. The signifigance behind the word Wicce back then was wise woman. So, it is a very popular belief that witches were very respected at the time and people would attend the meetings they had known as sabbats on Halloween night.

4. Pumpkins There are pumpkins that are orange but also red, white, gray and green. The largest pumpkin in. the world was weighted to be 2,323 pounds.

5. Around The World The united states largest Halloween parade has 50,000 participants and over 2 million spectators. It is located in new York city and is called the village Halloween parade. After Halloween lots of people return to their hometowns to purchase candles an flowers in preparation for All Saints Day which takes place November 1 st .

6. Candy There is a huge issue to do with candy during the Halloween/October season. Ever since 1970 there has been an ongoing issue with the threat of candy being laced with different things like drugs, glass, razors, and needles. There has been many hospitalizations and deaths of children through the consumption of this candy. So please watch out with the candy you consume if you receive it from someone else.
