M any poems, plays, stories and essays Is best known for:

H is fairy tales of which there are over one hundred fifty, published in numerous collections during his life and many still in print today

H is fairy tales that have been translated into more than 80 languages and;

H e have inspired plays, ballets, films and works of sculpture and painting

He was born at Odense,Denmark on April 2, 1805. He was a son of a journeyman - shoemaker, Hans Andersen and a washerwoman, Anne Marie Andersdatter .

I want to be a SINGER! And an A C TOR! He left for Copenhagen at the age of 14.

Director of Royal Danish Theatre Provided him a home and education Suggested that he should be a POET

Hans Christian Andersen - is also fond of papers so he would write on it, drew on it and cut it.

Andersen fell out of his bed and was severely hurt, never recovering. Soon after he started to show signs of liver cancer, he died on August 4, 1875 , in a house.
