Electronic Medical Records ( EMR ) The EMR provide a nurse with real-time access to patient information, such as patients medical condition, visits to health providers, images and reports of diagnostic procedures, schedule of services to be offered to people in the community and a complete longitudinal record of care evidenced based on decision support tools that can be used to aid a community nurse in decision making.

Limited access In rural communities, limited access to reliable internet and technology hinders the use of telehealth services, making it difficult for residents to access healthcare services. For example: Lack of access to databases or other sources of information. Lack of funding to undertake technology assessments.
