At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: • Recognize the capabilities in solving issues involving oneself and others; • Value one’s important role in the community; and • Develop social responsibility through active community involvement.

Activity: The Hero in My Mind • The learners will share their real-life hero. • He/She can be a member of your family, a distinct person in your community or a famous individual. • Write down his/her heroic qualities and deeds which made you regard him/her as your model or person.

Activity: My Heroic Deeds • Recall your good and heroic deeds. • Share the experiences that you had wherein you helped others at home, in your school and community. • Then answer the processing question.

Valuing

Activity: I am a Real-Life Superhero • Draw a self-portrait. But instead of drawing yourself exactly as you are, you present yourself as a real life or modern-day superhero. • Around your illustration, list down your superhero powers (qualities, skills and abilities) and share how you will use them to help others and respond to the needs of your community.

Journal Writing

Activity: Who is my Hero? • In a piece of bond paper, draw your ideal hero. • Describe him/her by; giving a name; state his/her physical strengths; characteristics; and uniqueness.
